I ordered and placed a $1,000 down payment on a 2014 Smart Cabriolet in Fe The best measure of a business is how they handle mistakes and problems. I ordered and placed a $1,000 down payment on a 2014 Smart Cabriolet in Feb 2014. My salesman, Mark Tower, told me it would be delivered between late-April and mid-May, which was fine by me...who needs a convertible in Portland until May? In April, he told me it would be arriving in the port of LA on 16 May. I thanked him for his update and told him that I wanted to insure that, during dealer prep, a license plate holder was not screwed into the front plastic of the car as I intended to install a special mounting bracket myself. He assured me they 'never install front plate holders without customer request'. Memorial day came and went. No car. Impatient, I ask for an update. Mark responded with (and I should note, he -- like almost everyone under the age of 50 -- only writes texts from his phone.) 'since it is a 2015 it is not released yet. I'll let you know when they ship it north. If you are not satisfied you will get a full refund.' Angry at being treated this way, I complain to the General Manager. He immediately rectified the situation by giving me a free Smart Cabriolet loaner 'until my car arrives'. I drove that free (all I had to do was put gas in it) loaner for six weeks! When my car arrived the only thing wrong was a front plate holder had been installed with four screws. They are going to fix this mistake by swapping the front body panel from another car in their inventory while I get a free loner. All the people I worked with at Mercedes Benz of Portland, Smart Center of Portland, who were professional and wonderful and fantastic are: Andrew Plummer (GM), Dale Acelar, Crystal Barber, Ben Tait, and Mylee Burns. Avoid Mark Tower. More
Ladies trust Greg Zuccarello. He is a gem! As a wife and mother, the vehicles I have driven were utilitarian. Now, kids are gone, husband out of town, and I am going to buy a car I want! I had planned to purchase a BMW 7 series with the salesman awaiting my call the following morning to make arrangements. My son encouraged my to talk with Greg Zucarello and off I went to Mercedes-Benz of Portland. I had not researched Mercedes and was completely ignorant as to the models and options. Greg knew the inventory, asked my several questions to understand what I would like and showed me variety of vehicles. He was knowledgeable and able to educate me on the differences of the various models and able to compare and contrast the options of each. He was kind, patient and respectful. I bought my "first car" that day. The process was fast and stress free. My husband.... well, he said he wasn't leaving town again. Seriously, he said he was appreciative that I met Greg who helped me through this process so I was able to purchase the vehicle I wanted. More

From Bruce Stromenger sold me a 2013 Smart Fortwo Passion Cabriolet and I couldn't be happier with the car, his service or the dealership as a whole. From start to finish, I did not feel pressured, but rather I felt I was educated and encouraged to ask questions until I felt confident in my decision. Even from first phone contact I was sent a detailed package of information on the Smart car choices as for models and the current leasing/financing options. Bruce also took the time to walk me through the package before I ever stepped foot into the dealership. I went in with the intent of leasing a vehicle and instead decided to purchase it because of the great price, quality service, the safety standards of the smart car and all of the special smart car perks. I never would have committed to buying this a vehicle without being 100% satisfied with the way I was treated. I wouldn't have chosen to go into debt if I didn't believe in the Smart Fortwo, Bruce and the dealership. I got a quality car, quality service/ guidance (note: I do not say salesman) and a quality dealership. I have never been more content or satisfied with a vehicle purchase. This is a prime example of poor customer relations and furthermore how nobody should be talked down to in any capacity let alone as a returning customer to this business. In ending this why we have choices of where to take our business and why a little humility and friendliness can go a long way. Be up front with people!!! and be fair! More
A dream come true When I was 5 years old, a friend of my parents bought himself a Mercedes for his 50th birthday. I remember it like it was yesterday. He gave me a ride and I decided that day, that when I turned 50 I would buy myself a Mercedes. Well, it's been 44 of those 45 years and the wait is finally over. We were driving by the Mercedes dealership in Portland and decided to go in and "look around". We met Dale Acelar and it became apparent that my dream was about to come true. Dale is SUPER knowledgeable about all things Mercedes. Not only is he knowledgeable, he is passionate about Mercedes and has a true love for the vehicle. I was very precise on what I wanted and he was awesome, and very patient with me. Always friendly, always ready to find what I wanted. I left the dealership that day ecstatic. After thinking about it overnight, I called Dale to see if I could come look at a different model just to make sure it was really what I wanted. He was so accommodating. "Absolutely. No problem. Whatever you want." was always his answer. So I came back, by myself, and just sat in the car. I touched everything, sat in every seat, played with all the buttons...all by myself. Dale would come to check on me every now and then, but mostly he just let me play...and fall in love. I did buy my car and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever owned. Although everyone at the dealership was super nice and so helpful, I am certain my experience was enhanced because of Dale. He is over the top professional, friendly, and ready to help. I would recommend anyone who is thinking of purchasing a Mercedes to go to the Portland dealership and ask for Dale. Your dream-come-true could be waiting. More
