The service dept is apparently understaffed and often not available or able to answer messages left for them. Example: I scheduled a service for early July but was not able to connect with road side assistan available or able to answer messages left for them. Example: I scheduled a service for early July but was not able to connect with road side assistance for a dead battery. It took several weeks to reschedule and get to road side assistance to jump start the car. $4,600 later I added a trickle charger but have not been able to confirm it’s working. Left a message to discuss it with service one week ago. I called and left a second message this morning. I’ve been thinking about a new car but am quite concerned about the Service aspect. We’ve had a Mercedes in the family since ‘98 but am now adding other cars to my search. More
Never had a good experience here. Never. It’s disappointing because this is the only service center in the state to take my Smart to be maintained, and I love my little car! But I rea Never. It’s disappointing because this is the only service center in the state to take my Smart to be maintained, and I love my little car! But I really do not feel that they take very good care of it. I do not trust that they are doing and checking everything that they claim to. I am charged for a remote battery with every service, and yet they have never once changed the battery (I mark it before going in, so I know if it’s changed, and it’s not). If I can’t trust them on something as minute as a $3 battery, how am I supposed to trust anything that’s claimed to have been done on my invoice? I really don’t. And that’s unacceptable. I would not be going there if it were not my only choice for getting my Smart serviced. The charges for service are outrageous. I don’t trust the work being done, or at least that it’s done well. And I have repeatedly had bad customer service experiences with bringing my car in…from trying to get quotes over the phone from someone who knows nothing about cars and loses things in translation, to poor communication in general. This last time, I asked the advisor to make sure they lubricated the door hinges because they’d previously screeched very badly. I have this communication with him in text message, so there is no mistaking what I asked for, the hinges be lubricated…but he put on the work order to “lubricate the door latches”…which is an entirely different thing, and does not help the hinges! Seriously, if you can’t get that much correct…really? I had to start requesting that they not do any complimentary cleaning. My car would come out looking like it got a quick hose down, certainly not clean like a car washed with any type of care. And every time they would dirty up the interior windshield. It would seriously come back to me looking like they wiped the inside of the windshield with a dirty dish rag…more than once this happened. So yeah, don’t trust them to do any cleaning, complimentary or not. So what is it just Smart cars that are not respected there, or what? Because I’ve been servicing mine at this dealership for over 3 years, and I really can't fathom the glowing reviews of others experience. More
