We did apologize for any delay in contacting this customer. We explained that that there was a flurry of activity here in the midst of responding to this customer’s needs. That week was our Grand re-Opening along with the introduction of our completely re-engineered S-Class. There was a lot of preparation and all-hands were involved in the event. Consequently, the follow-up required to assist this customer waned and somewhere in all that we dropped the ball. Addressing specific remarks in this complaint we found two problem areas. First, our Business Development Center should have left notes in our computer system that they had spoken to the customer and should have set the appointment with the salesperson - then let the salesperson know. Second, in service, we create “repair orders” based on our “inventory stock numbers” for work that we do internally. What exacerbated problems in this area was that we did not “own” this customer’s vehicle and therefore no “stock number” would have been available for tracking in the repair order system. Obviously, we dropped the ball and we apologize. We appreciate the feedback. And, of course, we will try and implement some checks and balances to curtail the routine that this customer experienced.
