We were advised that we had 3 rear wheels and 1 front and that we needed a $1500 new wheel. Interesting, cuz the car was factory-ordered and delivered by this dealer, and has been serviced by them. I asked for more info and was told the tech thought the car was supposed to have diff sized front and rear wheels…which of course would have meant 2 wheels were wrong, not one. Then they sent an email saying I declined their urgent-attn recommendation. I didn’t decline it. I think the recommendation was an error. Service Advisor Brian claims that they called Mercedes to verify that all the wheels were correct. Maybe they did; maybe they didn’t. I have no way to know and no written acknowledgement of that. I believe the techs are highly commissioned. That compromises our trust and the alignment with our best interests. The recalls seem to have been resolved, although Brian said he is still confused by the wheel issue. #2: The first thing Service Advisor Brian asked me when I arrived was “Is the gas tank down to 1/4 or less? (We can’t save excess gasoline when we drop the tank to do the recall work.)” If that was important why wouldn’t anyone have mentioned it before I got there? We discussed in advance the 4 recalls to be addressed. #3: The work was scheduled for 1 day, but when I hadn’t received a call late in the day advising that the car was ready, I called Brian and learned that it wasn’t…because the tech “got a late start on it”. That was OK since I had a loaner, but the delay should have been addressed pro-actively. More
