$10 for a car wash. I purchased a Mercedes 4-5 months ago. When on the freeway my car started behaving like the gas peddle was stuck down. Very scary for my family who I purchased a Mercedes 4-5 months ago. When on the freeway my car started behaving like the gas peddle was stuck down. Very scary for my family who was in the car with me. I pulled the car off the freeway and had to actually turn the ignition off to stop the car from rolling through a red light because the brakes could not hold me. I checked the peddles and surroundings of the car and again started the car .. same thing, immediately the car would accelerate without pressing the gas. The ignition was turned off, waited, and tried again 2 more times. On the third try, it behaved properly. I drove it immediately to Mercedes dealership. Since it was a Sat afternoon, they explained that they probably would not be able to look at it until Monday and gave me a rental free of charge (read on for more on this). I received a call Monday evening telling me nothing could be found to cause the problem and the car was ready to pickup. There was an issue I mentioned when leaving the car on Sat that the car was shaking once when I put in reverse and they said that an adjustment was made to correct that. Since it was late Monday they said I could pickup on Tuesday morning. When I picked up, I waited about 45 minutes for tjem to find my car which was apparently misplaced. When it drove up, the driver explained that they didn't have time to wash it so I could bring it back anytime and they would do it for me. I explained that I had waited so long that another 10-15 minutes wouldn't matter and they could take it back and do it now. 45minutes earlier when I told them I was picking up my car, they said I owed them $10 for the loaner. I told the lady that there was no mention of being charged when I was given the loaner (nor had I ever had a dealership do this before). She said "its standard" ... since I didn't want to argue with her (and I didn't know I would be waiting around another hour for my car), I paid. Just last night, I found the original loaner agreement I signed which states $0 charge everywhere, even on a $10/gas charge which was marked $0. Hence, my title of this review being "$10 for a car wash". Not a good demonstration of customer service, quality, or value at this visit. More
