Theives! I had gotten my smart car from Ray Catena and was told at the time of purchase that service and maintence were included. I wanted about a year to take care of service on my Smart. Only to be told was told at the time of purchase that service and maintence were included. I wanted about a year to take care of service on my Smart. Only to be told that service wasn't covered and that I owed 300+ for BASIC MAINTENCE. When we tried to speak with someone we were treated rudely and shruged off. The work itself was done well but it was not $300 worth of work. Plus it took all morning for them to even get to my car. Do not to business with Ray Catena. If you have to make sure you get all of their claims in writing and read before you sign ANYTHING they give you. They are a bunch of theives that will run you through to make a buck. More
My overall experience working with Ray Catena and specifically Eli Sasson was SUPER. It was our first experience with Ray Catena and it definitely will not be our last. ELI SASSON was very knowledgeable and friendly, he answered all my questions with a SMILE, and DID NOT turn his back, or ignore me when I told him I wasn't ready to buy. The morning we were picking up our new car Eli Sasson was beyond accommodating. Here is the history: My father financed a Mercedes S550 from Ray Ca DEALERSHIP! I would like to share my experience at Ray Catena in Edison, NJ. Here is the history: My father financed a Mercedes S550 from Ray Catena in Edison, NJ on June 11, 2011. It is relevant that I mention we purchased this car for over $100,000. On June 15 (Wednesday), the car wouldn’t start and we called the dealership and they told us to call the Mercedes Roadside Assistance. After couple of hours, someone arrived at the residence and Jump-Started the car. He mentioned that it could be that the battery is bad or it could be that this particular car was at the dealership for months and wasn’t started which could be reason for this. Then on Friday, June 17, the car stopped in the middle of the road either because of the battery problem or because my father drove the car through water and it was sucked in from exhaust pipes (there was heavy rain at that time). I would like to also mention here that hundreds of other cars did pass through the same street without stopping while my father’s car was shut down. We waited almost 4 hours for the Mercedes Roadside and they kept telling us on the phone that the tow truck is 10 minutes away. All this while, the cops are getting impatient and they called the local towing company to tow the truck, which they did. Within a week, we had three problems with the car (including this water problem). At this point, I can’t help but think that we might have purchased a “Lemon”, not to mention the amount of money my father spent on this car. So, we are calling the dealership to cancel this deal but no success. Yes, they could probably fix the one or two problems the car might have, but in my mind after spending over $100,000 on a car, I just don’t want to settle for band-aid fix, not to mention all of this happened within a week, who is to say the problems won’t occur down the road due to all of this. On Saturday, we then arrive at the dealership and ask for the Sales Rep who we purchased the car from. He was apparently “busy with a customer” and was going to be a while. We then asked for the General Manager to talk to him about the situation and we wanted to cancel the deal. I have never met such an arrogant person and he is the general manager. This is the person who represents Ray Catena of Edison, NJ. Instead of comforting us about the situation, he told us, with his un-professional attitude, that come back on Monday. Might I remind that we had already wasted Friday night, half of our Saturday and now he is telling us to come back on Monday. Are these guys expecting us to take a day off from work and follow them around because we had already purchased the car and they already have the down payment so it is no longer their responsibility to server their customers. I can’t emphasize enough that how un-professional this person, Douglas Wells, was. The negligence that my father and I experienced on Saturday was appalling. This person showed no respect whatsoever, we were talking to him and in the middle of the sentence he picks up his phone and starts talking on the phone. Furthermore, my father mentioned to him that, he was planning on taking the new car to Florida for his vacation. This is the response that we got from the GM: “Rent a car, and maybe Mercedes will reimburse you”. Are my expectation too high, when I thought that Ray Catena dealership should provide us with a courtesy car at the minimum, until the car is fixed? Later on that day, we drove to their service center to get some personal belongings out of the car. The service center couldn’t locate our car. They called several other service centers and nobody had our car. This is just one of the many steps I plan on taking against Douglas Wells. I am going to expose this situation and the way it was handled by Ray Catena dealership. Moreover, I am planning on providing the same information on the dealership survey that I have yet to receive. My salesman, Greg Giordano took me for a test drive and he was SO pleasant and patient and did not rush me or pressure me whatsoever and excellent! I called the dealership and spoke with Dan Cottrell in Greg's absence. In less than 15 minutes we had a deal over the phone and I was scheduled to pickup my new car the very next day! Greg met me at the dealership and stayed after hours in order to accommodate my schedule. There were NO surprises or pressure to make any last minute decisions. The car was EXACTLY what I wanted and the paperwork reflected exactly what I wanted to spend. It was SO EASY and such a pleasure to do this deal! The salesman at Ray Catena are extremely professional and customer oriented and treat you with respect! I'm in love with my new car and even all my follow-up questions or issues were addressed immediately with such responsiveness and attentiveness to help. I would recommend this dealership in a heartbeat and I wouldn’t buy a benz ANYWHERE else. More
Got a new S550 yesterday.Went to checkout the 2011 s550 after almost committing to buy a BMW 7 car. Joseph Pellegrino was the sales person we met.
