Overcharged after5 Business Days of Waiting for Service I own a 2008 ML350 and took it in for service on a Wednesday morning. My initial complaint is that they did not have my car in their system as being p I own a 2008 ML350 and took it in for service on a Wednesday morning. My initial complaint is that they did not have my car in their system as being purchased at Ray Catena Mercedes, which is was. This was a headache on its own as I wasn't able to have a loaner vehicle unless I could prove that my vehicle was purchased there. After going back and forth, I was finally put into their system and granted a loaner. As mentioned, I dropped the vehicle off on a Wednesday and had to contact the service center on Friday to get an update. MY CAR WAS NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT. It sat there for days untouched. I was told that they would have an estimate for me on Saturday morning, which never happened. I finally received an estimate on Tuesday morning when I reached out to contact them yet again. Unbelievable. I declined all of their recommended services but had agreed to pay for Service A and a windshield wiper fluid fix when the car was dropped off. Unfortunately, my car needed Service B, but I was never notified of this either. I was charged $450 for the most basic job. $350 was for labor! They simply cleared the lines for the washer pump and changed the oil. I never felt so disrespected as a customer in my life. PLEASE do not go to this service center, it is poorly run, poorly managed and the communication level is non-existent. They had my car for nearly a week and the service completed was far overpriced. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Tom Cola, who gladly arranged for a back-to-back comparison test drive of an E sport versus an E luxury model. Since I do a ton of highway driving, I was looking for a car with the Distronic Plus system, which is rather rare. Tom brought out a loaded E350 sport for the test drive and it just happened to be in my preferred exterior color with a custom interior. I had not walked in with any serious intention of finding a car that evening, but based on the car's options, mileage, condition, certified pre-owned warranty, and the pricing Tom provided, I knew a quick decision was needed. I called Tom the next morning and he held the car so I could come in later to see it in daylight and take a highway test drive. When all looked good, he had my 2006 C280 with 165K miles evaluated for trade-in and we made the deal. On top of Tom's excellent service, I know having purchased at Ray Catena that I'll get equal service on the maintenance side, including loaner cars, pick up/drop off, free car washes, etc... Thanks Tom for an all around great experience! More
