Diagnostic check Had a check engine light issue that was addressed at an independent shop. Brought the vehicle to MB to make sure everything checked out. I have had a few strange issues with my vehicle and I absolutely felt heard by the staff; they seemed genuinely eager to solve the problems. Improvement Needed I have been a customer for 24 years. I am on my fourth S Class and the service I have gotten over the years has been very good. First Rick Ferrari a I have been a customer for 24 years. I am on my fourth S Class and the service I have gotten over the years has been very good. First Rick Ferrari as my service agent and then Leland has always done a great job. I have had a loaned vehicle over the years and the experience has been fine. But now when I am loaned a car I do not feel good about the process. The volume of documents, initials and signatures are fairly extensive and the demand for a credit card now surprises me. The Audi/Porsche people are not as friendly and one is almost made to feel like we are not to be trusted with the loaner. I do not like it. You may feel this is necessary because some have done you wrong but I feel I am being treated shabbily by Mercedes Benz. Not something I have experienced in the past. The last loaner the agent goes out thoroughly inspects the car, crawls in to verify the tank is full, gives me the key and leaves. Now when I start the car the air conditioning does not work. Now back into Mercedes, they check it and it does not work. Now I wait on another car and have to go through the whole process again, Initialing, signing, inspecting. When I rent a car from Hertz I do none of this.I am normally at their counter less than 2 minutes and they require one signature, no initialing, no walk around inspection and no one goes into the car before me and sometimes they make me show a drivers license. They certainly do not require any insurance information and they do not make a copy of my drivers License. While waiting on my second car I asked a salesman about one of the four door cars on their floor. The answer I got was somewhat hostile. It was like I should have known the answer or I should not have been there. I was asking why someone would pay $150,000 for the GT model on the floor when they could buy a very nice S Class for much less money. Apparently my question offended him and at first he did not answer. After a long pause he then described in terse language about how theirs was more of a sports car ride and handing and not like a Mercedes at all. I do not consider a car with four doors a sports car. The loan process, the lack of friendliness, and the hostile attitude made this about my worst experience with this dealership. Leland was fine but the rest of it was quite poor. More
