Turns out, If you need your key fob flashed on a 2017 vehicle, Melton service will tell you once flashed, the old fob will be "no good", even going as far as conversing with the parts department to confirm this issue because "the 2017 is configured different, this changes from year to year". It will end up costing you $403.18 to get a new one. Gave me my service ticket as proof of total costs. This is 100% dishonest as Chris Nikels will flash the old fob for $68 using your remaining and used key fob. Not only will I never purchase a thing from Melton again, I will never refer another friend to them either. I referred a friend to them two days ago. If you are going to sell yourself as a local but small and honest establishment, you should fire every single dishonest person employed as word of mouth is huge in a small town. Id be ashamed if i knew this type of upcharging was going on as an owner. If the parts guy and the service guy tag team to increase profits using dishonesty, its hard to believe those running the company are left in the dark about these practices. Especially once you realize that the service & parts dept is where the bulk of any dealerships profits come from. More
