All I can say is ask for Mark Rank when you go into Mel Hambelton Ford. I purchased a new 2010 F150 through Mark and he continues to support me 6 months after the sell. He is in it for the right reasons and will work for you to make sure everything is right. I want to be clear that I am the first person that does not like pushy salesmen that simply want a quick sell to meet their monthly quota. This guy is not pushy; he simply wants to treat you right so you are a customer for life. I would strongly recommend Mel Hambelton because Quality customer care is their focus. I am almost on a first name basis with their customer service representative that always follows-up with me over the phone to make sure everything went well for something as simple as a scheduled oil change. The service department is another strong area for this dealership. Mike Mitchell is second to none. Mike is interested in making sure your service experience is 100% positive and will make sure everything was done right in a timely manner. More
This is the second car I have bought from Mir. I was happy enough with his service the first time to be one of his repeat customers. Because we had been in the dealership for black Friday to get my 16 yr old daughter a car. She stayed there all night and was the third in line until around 4:30am when 5 hispanic families all showed up and get my 16 yr old daughter a car. She stayed there all night and was the third in line until around 4:30am when 5 hispanic families all showed up and were able to resume their saved spots from the night before. My daughter didnt get a car that night but was promised that she would have one between 2 days and 2 weeks. I had to call repeatedly to get action and it was after 3 months that they finally got her a car. There was a lack of communication from the dealership that was unsat. Last Friday we picked up the car and everything seemed ok, until yesterday. My daughter had rolled her windows downs and they would not go back up at all. She had someone who knew how to get them back up but they wont work now. I called Brad Mason the salesman about the issue and got the cold shoulder and he said its my problem, they already lost $1,500.00 on the deal. First of all if they would have taken care of business and not allowed the 5 families to resume their so called spots that night my daughter would have gotten the car she wanted. They broke their own rules and then blew me off. The customer service was rated Very Bad because I should not have to call every week and some times several times a week to talk to someone on progress. I should not be told its not their problem its mine. To top it off, the peice we talked about from day one was under a $1,000 with all fees and tax, as it would have been that night in November, instead I paid over that. They did not provide good customer service to our family... I would also like to mention that on the morning of black Friday their so called security guard was very rude disrespctful, and made it clear that he was in charge not the sales management team. He told us flat out that since we werent on his list we wouldnt get a car. I asked what list and he replied the one you not on nor will be. He generated a list then told all the hispanic families they could go home and come back at 4:30am to resume their position. I told him that when the management came in I would let them know all about what he said. He told me he didnt care because he was in charge not them. they couldnt and wouldnt change anything because he was the boss perion. I found out Friday that he must be the boss, because he is still their security guard. I guess Phil, Jeff and Lisa Hambelton all work for him! More
This was by far the best experience I have ever had at a dealership. This is the third vehicle I have purchased in the last 6 years. I have not always been a Ford person, but seeing the amount of community dealership. This is the third vehicle I have purchased in the last 6 years. I have not always been a Ford person, but seeing the amount of community engagement they put forth made we want to check them out. As soon as we hit the lot, my wife and I, had a bet to see if anyone would come talk to us. Within a minute of exiting our vehicles, in the cold, our sales person greeted us. Ben did a great job. He shook our hands, even our 7-year-old sons, and introduced himself. From there, he started asking us all the right questions. Not how much money we had, but how we were going to use the vehicle. He wanted to know our lifestyle. This allowed him to put us in the right vehicle for the perfect price. We walked the lot for about 45 minutes before even getting into a vehicle to test drive. He took us around discussing the advantages and disadvantages to each vehicle. Once Ben put us in my new Ford F150, quad cab, we knew it was the right one. The price was above our range by about $5,000, but this did not stop Ben. He took us inside and went to work. Next thing you know, he is within our budget and we were driving away. If it were not for Ben and the sales team at Mel Hambelton, I would still be driving the old Dodge. More
I went to Mel Hambelton based on reputation and knew exactly what I could spend and what features I wanted. I was greeted at the door by Mr. Benage and he immediately listened to my needs. Due to incl exactly what I could spend and what features I wanted. I was greeted at the door by Mr. Benage and he immediately listened to my needs. Due to inclement weather we browsed selections on the pc & then he drove the specific car to the bay for me. After a test drive and then only looking at one more vehicle we started negotiating on the original vehicle. Within approximately 2 hours I drove away in my new car. Wonderful experience! More

I am a Disabled Veteran, and even though I have a very good credit score that I earned in only 20 months, my income was a serious issue when it came to financing a vehicle. I was turned down numerous time good credit score that I earned in only 20 months, my income was a serious issue when it came to financing a vehicle. I was turned down numerous times by a variety of lenders. The Mel Hambelton Team, especially James Shock in sales, and Shawn Matthews, financial officer, never wavered. Even with my continuous and probably, somewhat annoying beliefs that not only with all the rejections, I may not be able to purchase the car, but those hard hits would ruin my credit. Mel Hambleton Ford's Team of professional and competent personnel continued to push aggressively towards the desired goal of purchasing and financing this vehicle, I also sensed courtesy and passion from them as well. I felt it just wasn't about the money. After two weeks of the hurry up and wait, and my declining belief in my chances of getting the vehicle I became accustomed to, everything came to be. James and Shawn went above and beyond the call of duty, and made it happen. Mel Hambelton Ford and its Team of professionals made me the proud owner of a 2009 Ford Mustang GT with a V8, 300 HP engine, 5 Speed manual stick shift, hood scoop, a rear spoiler, tinted windows, leather seats, a fantastic shaker stereo system and so on. Oh, by the way, my credit wasn't hurt as bad as I insisted it would be. I give TWO THUMBS UP for the car, but it was Mel Hambelton's Ford in Wichita, Kansas, James Shock and Shawn Matthews, and the entire dealership that made the experience one I shall never forget, and I will always be grateful to them. But I reiterate, it seemed to me to be about more than the money. Five stars and more, two thumbs up, and my business for life. If this sounds like a promotion for this dealership, it is, but I truly recommend that if you are going to buy a new or used vehicle, by the way, mine only has 9000 miles, Mel Hambelton Ford in Wichita, Kansas is a really fine and dedicated one. Look no further! Jeffrey J Ray/AKA JugularLonewolf. James Shock and Shawn Matthews surely wasn't a lucky streak, but I am glad it was those two that came to be my team, from what I experienced, from all departments and personnel, the showroom and diner, the cleanliness of the dealership and everything else, Mel Hambelton Ford is a truly special place. I was looking for a used Ford Fusion. I'd buy new, but nobody really wants to take that depreciation hit. T I showed up to the dealership early on a Friday morning. This was my first time going to Mel nobody really wants to take that depreciation hit. T I showed up to the dealership early on a Friday morning. This was my first time going to Mel Hambelton. After being left to wander the lot for a while (which I like, instead of being pounced upon), Tariq (sales) walked over and offered to help. He was very friendly and very courteous to my family and I. I explained what I was looking for, and he showed me only cars that fit my description. He didn't try and move me into a higher price band, upsell me, or push me into something I didn't need. Before taking a test drive, he explained all the features of the car, and how they work. At first I thought this was a little unnecessary. However, after visiting a few other dealerships that day, I felt like Tariq was the only salesperson (amongst 3 others) I talked to who even knew anything about the car he was selling. We took the car for a drive, and I was very pleased. We then discussed price, everyones least favorite part about car shopping. This is never pleasant, but was much better than I expected. I informed Tariq that I was going to visit some other dealers, but would be calling him before I made a decision. We visited other dealers, including 1 large national volume used car place, and I was very disappointed. That specific place was the most atrocious experience I've ever had while buying a car. The other two brand-name dealers just didn't seem interested in my business. Later that evening Tariq called me (once, only, no constant harassing by phone), and I informed him I had not yet purchased a car, and would be back to see him the following day (Saturday). He sounded happy, and I was very happy that Tariq and Mel Hambelton seemed like they really wanted my business, and would do what it took to get it. Saturday rolled around, I arrived at the dealer mid-afternoon, with my wife and 3 kids. I met with Tariq, drove 1 more car, and decided on the original one I had driven. We bargained the price down a little more, and agreed upon a deal. At this point, I was very impressed with Tariq, and the dealership. It was fairly busy, but Tariq was on-point the whole time. The dealership staff was very cordial, even to my 3 young children who by this point were getting a little bored. The dealership fed them hotdogs, and hamburgers free of charge, and had a nice area for them to sit down and watch T.V. We had to wait quite a while to talk to a financing manager. It was busy, and there were more people buying, than finance mangers on duty. After a fairly long wait myself and two of the kids (wife and youngest daughter headed home, she was a little restless), we met with Bret Bowman. He knew we had our own financing, and did not try and push us into another deal. He apologized for the wait, and said he'd get our paperwork done as fast as possible. He wasn't kidding. We chatted for a bit about some common interests, and the papers were done in about 10 minutes, the car got it's 30 day tag, and we were given the keys. Bret was great, dealt well with my kids, and explained all the warranty options and whatnot. He also said if we had any problems with the car, he'd do whatever it took to make us happy. Obviously a dealership is in business to make money, as are the people who work their. However, I really do believe Bret and Tariq were honest and truthful with us the whole time. Not once did either of them try and placate me with an answer, and I really did get the feeling they will stand behind the car they sold me. I told both Tariq and Brent about my experiences with other dealerships, and that I would have bought the car for Mel Hambelton even if it was a little more expensive (which it wasn't, as they beat the other dealers price), as their customer service was far superior.
