I recently purchased a 2011 Ford Fusion from Mel Hambelton Ford in Wichita, Ks. I highly recommend this dealership if you are interested in purchasing a vehicle. I was treated with the highest respect and intelligence. Everyone was quick to assist me with my questions and/or concerns. Technology is here and Ford has definitely kept up with the times. My new car has a feature called Ford SYNC. This is a factory-installed, fully integrated in-vehicle communications and entertainment system that allows users to make hands-free telephone calls and control music and other functions using voice commands. This can become a little overwhelming at first but thankfully Nancy Bayer came to the rescue. She patiently explained the features to me until I understood how to work them. She is very knowledgeable, patient, and had a very cheerful disposition. Hats off to Nancy Bayer! More
Update....did they call me back of course the next morning after the post on Wednesday morning. I was also there the night of BLACK FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. What a waste of two nights. I seen it for ourselves as well. The Sec Guard tried to get us kicked us off the property because he told us that the LIST they had was started up with 5 families that all signed up and went home. The morning of BLACK FRIDAY we bought that to the attention of the Managers and THE OWNER, which they claimed that they didnt know anything about it but that they would make everything right Saturday but to NO AVAIL did they. I had went there to purchase a NEW FORD but they informed me that I was turned down for a new car and could only purchase the car in which I purchased (shocker.....guess what my app for a new car never went out to my bank)!! I asked my salesman if living out of town would be a problem with my buying the car. He informed me that it wouldnt!Liars because, when they called me just Wednesday to talk about my earlier review they told me that....It was my fault I moved! and My Firestones Mechanic had never changed my oil in those 3 times that I had it done in the 8 months I have owned it. But, in reality what they forgot to remember is that I purchased it at the end of Sept and drove it back to Mel Hambelton Ford during the Thanksgiving week-end and they claimed that they did a oil change while I was there and supposely checked it out for an oil problem that I have had since I bought it. Their mechanic surprisely found no reason for why I was going thru a quart of oil every 2 weeks! The manager that I spoke with Wednesday informed me (probably because im a woman) that its normal to go thru a quart of oil every 2 weeks. NEVER HAD A USED CAR THAT DID THAT HMMMM...... MAYBE ITS A GMC THING! I spoke to the head managers as well as my salesperson regarding the piece of crap lemon that they sold me and they informed me that it was no longer their problem it was mine! I am currently without a car while making payments on it! My first advice is... NOT TO BUY A CAR FROM THIS CROOKED PLACE!! If you do, BUY NEW NEVER USED WITH THE STUPID WASTE OF MONEY WARRANTY! I do currently live in Georgia due to being laidoff from Cessna! I am a single mother with no child support trying to pay our way here and keep up with my house that I currently still own in Wichita. I will be moving home soon and was actually hoping to do it before Goddard Schools started. But now because I have NO CAR, AND NO WAY TO COME UP WITH THE $3500.00 I need to fix it....Im just screwed! I have never ever had such a hatred for a car company besides when I was younger I bought a crapper from PRICED RIGHT USED CARS so I guess that in my book they rate the same! I had owed 2 used cars from DAVIS MOORE and thought that I would give Mel Hambelton Ford a chance since I have never before. What a MISTAKE!! That I am now currently paying for! A word from my mother who bought a truck during the BLACK SATURDAY EVENT! She brought it back to the Mel Hambelton Ford Service center on Dec 2, 2010 with only putting on 29 miles on the car. It was not performing like it should have and we felt the transmission was going out. They had orginal told her that if she brought truck back in they would check it free of charge. HIS NAME WAS RICKY MCGREW. A day later they called her to tell her it was ready so she went to pick it up .....guess the purge flow sensor was bad and they replaced it and stated that the transmission was fine. She went to pick it up and they gave her a bill for $101.94 for them just to run a test on it. She bitched because it never should have been sold in that condition considering it is valued at $1600.00 and she paid $2799.00 what a GREAT BLACK SATURDAY DEAL HUH.....o and another surprise the Transmission going out, and the exhaust systems leaks and the gear shifts sloppy and the igintion is funny because you have to pay with it to get it to turn over,have already replaced the starter.She didnt get a good deal after spending an entire night outside. She also will NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THEM AGAIN OR REFER SOMEONE THERE! She has currently lived in Wichita for 56 yrs now and has never had any bad comments for no company until now. She works for a Hospice there in Wichita helping people at their last moments of life and now doesnt have a reliable vehicle to get to them. SAD STORIES BUT THEY MESS WITH THE WRONG FAMILY! I SUSIE STONER HAVE A BAD MOUTH AND I WONT WONT WONT BE QUIET UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED! THEIR SLOGAN is "WERE BETTER, WERE PROVING IT, YOU BE THE JUDGE, MEL HAMBELTON FORD" the two judges here in this story have spoken! They wont ever call me back. Sabrina is lazy and doesnt work apparently because I have spoken with her about my refund on three ocassions for the dis & life insurance that I cancelled within the first 2 weeks because my bank who financed my loan on the vehicle already had it. I have filled out there forms twice....once sent back to them the other time I filled it out during my wasted time there in November. They are a bunch of people that care only about making money and NONE AND I MEAN NONE OF THE KNOWS THE TRUE MEANING OF CUSTOMER SATISFACTION! I may not live in Wichita at this current time but I am planning to move back soon. With that said I WILL NEVER ABOUT THIS ONGOING BATTLE WITH MEL HAMBELTON FORD UNTIL THEY STAND UP TO THEIR SLOGAN AND DO WHATS RIGHT!! THEIR NEW SLOGAN SHOULD READ......."Our Family here at Mel Hambelton Ford will go ABOVE & BEYOND OUR Safisfaction & Customer who?" Hey.....do I win the new car for a year with that slogan?? How is this for Satisfaction?? More
Everyone was so polite and helpful. My son was even excited to be there. He was able to make his own ford logo and was kept occupied while I looked at cars. Mel Hambelton Ford is leaps and bounds better than the other large Ford dealer in town. They don't fence you in and make you walk into their building to corner you by the salesmen. At MH Ford, they all ask you promptly if you've been helped. They definately go far above the typical situation of a smarmy, wheeling and dealing car slaesman experience we all picture when we hear the words, "We have to go car shopping." We worked with Brad Mason and he was wonderful. We spent months going in and testing out different cars because we weren't sure what type of car we wanted. He never complained and was always friendly to us when we came to see him. We had to wait on car buying for a month and when we were ready he was ready too. We ended up getting a great deal on an Edge and we referred our good friends who bought a car with him too. Come to find out later, we had other friends who bought a car with him as well and they were just as happy! This dealership has a very large selection of cars and they are willing to help you look for something specific. We will recommend them to everyone! More
This is our 3 time buying a vechile from Mel Hambelton. However this was our first time buying NEW. We were not looking to buy new and Mark was not a pushy sales man who was trying to get us to buy new eit However this was our first time buying NEW. It was great to be able to walk into the dealership, talk to a sales person, tell them exactly what i want and the price i wanted to pay and have them not screw with me. He got us a great warranty and called us back in after he found a place who would finance us for even less. We did have a problem where the downpayment checks I put down and signed a paper to agree to deposit on a certain date if cash was not brought in before were deposited after i'd already paid my down payment in cash and i was out $650 the night before my vacation. We went into the office, talked to someone who fixed it right away. covered the amount of the check plus my overdraft fee and even threw in a free tank of gas. they have absolutley amazing customer service and i will be going back to them for my next car. More
