Found it listed at North Bergen Buick GMC on a Thursday night, called Friday morning fully expecting to hear it was already sold or that the price online was some kind of teaser. Neither. The woman I spoke with put a hold on it through Saturday without asking me for a deposit, which surprised me. I got there Saturday around noon, the car was pulled up front and running with the AC on because it was about ninety degrees out. Drove it around, everything checked out, and the number at the desk was the number from the website plus tax and the doc fee they'd already told me about on the phone. No surprise additions. Since I was coming from out of state they handled the temporary registration and explained what I'd need to do at my own DMV, and gave me a folder with all of it, which was genuinely useful two weeks later when I was standing in line. The one snag was that they couldn't find the second key for almost an hour and I sat there watching people look for it. They found it. Four months in, no regrets. More

I called three places and two of them basically glazed over when I started explaining. The woman I spoke with here, Marisela in finance, had clearly dealt with this before. She told me exactly what paperwork I'd need, what my ex would have to sign, and what the timeline would look like if he dragged his feet, which he did. She didn't pretend it would be easy. I ended up coming in four separate times over about six weeks. Not once did anyone make me feel like I was wasting their time, even though I'm sure a normal customer would have been done in one visit. The car itself is a used Encore GX, nothing exciting, and the payment landed right where I needed it to be.
