Devan was very helpful in showing me around and was well informed about the cars I was interested in. Jordon was very professional walking me through all the paperwork needed to complete the financial part of the deal. I would recommend McLarty Nissan of Benton, and remember to ask for Devan! More
Long story short, our sales guy Dewayne was great. Everything else is average at best. We’ve spent over 12hrs at the dealership and we still have another appointment before the vehicle is drive off re Everything else is average at best. We’ve spent over 12hrs at the dealership and we still have another appointment before the vehicle is drive off ready. My wife wasted an entire day waiting on a detail and couple of basic maintenance things to be done. After over 6hrs all they had done is the oil. If the cars not 100% ready for delivery don’t buy it here. More
I want to tell the whole story of why I would ever give anyone or anything one star. I found a Nissan Rogue on the McLarty Nissan of Benton, Arkansas website that had a little over 7,000 miles and was $28, anyone or anything one star. I found a Nissan Rogue on the McLarty Nissan of Benton, Arkansas website that had a little over 7,000 miles and was $28,700. They also had a Honda Civic with 31,000 miles that was a manual transmission for $23,000. I called to make sure both cars were there, and talked to Ed. My husband drove me over. Last Sunday (this is Saturday) I had a horrible accident where my beautiful Subaru Forester was totaled. Friday, Progressive gave us a check for it, but it was a bank draft and would need about 10 days to clear the bank before I could write a check on it. (The bank said seven, I told the dealership 10 just in case.) However, I had $3,000 cash for a deposit, so I could get the dealership to hold the car. I told the salesman what the deal was when I got there, and he said no problem. I drove a new Honda Rogue while they tried to locate the one I saw online. I also drove a Honda Kicks. Loved both cars, but decided that the comfort of th Rogue was worth the money. They finally said that the Rogue I had come for was at another dealership and took me over there to pick it up for a test drive. The Civic had been sold. They said they were having trouble locating cars because the computer that held their "key inventory" was destroyed along with the Volvo dealership, in yesterday's tornadoes. Get to the dealership in Little Rock, and the Rogue has been sold, they think, to Enterprise Rent-A-Car, because they cannot find it. We go back to McLarty in Benton. On the lot, is another Rogue with almost 6,000 miles that is the same price as the one that I wanted to purchase. I find my husband, and we go over to look at it, and we decide that is the one we will purchase. Then the sales guy that drove me across the county comes out and says, "Sorry. The sales manager says we can't take deposits on used inventory." We said a lot, none of it was pretty, so I will leave that to your imagination. My husband and I got into an argument on the way home. I was hungry, heartsick over the car I lost last week, and felt like I had been kicked in the teeth. I could not finance the car, my credit is simply not going to work, and even if they did finance me, the finance charges would be so much that it would cost me thousands more. We were both disappointed, and we left. Then the dealership called me back. Wanted to know if there was any chance we would reconsider doing business with them, and asked what happened. I explained all this. I also told him that I did not blame the salesmen. It was obvious to me that none of the salesmen that we had talked to - there were three altogether - knew about the policy. This rested at the feet of the sales manager. That is not something that he should have surprised customers with - they should have been trained and should have known this at the outset. So, he said, if we can make this work, would you come back, and I said, maybe. Then he said, "OK, so we're clear, we get the $3,000 deposit, and if you don't come back in ten days, then we keep the money, right?" Really? Are you kidding me? Nope, he wasn't. All the good will he might have built in a phone call dissipated. Is this where you want to spend your hard-earned money? I'll give this one a hard pass. Not just no, but no forever. I can't do dishonesty. More
Devan did an excellent job showing me several vehicles and answering any questions promptly. Professional and good follow up a week after the sale. McLarty’s price for Frontier was competitive compare and answering any questions promptly. Professional and good follow up a week after the sale. McLarty’s price for Frontier was competitive compared to those I found on autotrader.com within a reasonable driving distance. Settled on a price that was a few hundred dollars higher than my ideal. Not bad, but just high enough to be frustrating. Sales manager, can’t remember his name, was a little bit difficult. First couple interest rates were absolutely ridiculous (even for today’s standards). Settled on a rate a little higher than what AFCU offered because I would “lose any incentives if not financing through Nissan”. xx line and I would have walked away at that point except my current car was barely driveable. Jordan in finance is a cool dude. Made his warranty pitch but wasn’t pushy. Negotiation experience would have been less frustrating had I been in a better position to walk away. But overall it was a positive experience and I will consider McLarty in the future. More
McLarty Nissan is a very professional organization. They showed me the vehicle that I came to see and worked with me to get the price I could pay. Ask for Ed. if you go there.
