Financing/Warranty SCAM! 5/14 I purchased my 2015 Kia Sportage. We negotiated a $50 credit on the price since the driver side floor mat was missing. My sales rep, Heidi, asked which bank I preferred and I selected my current US Bank. At closing the finance person, Kevin ordered my credit and explained that BOA gave me a better offer than mine so I accepted. He also offered me a warranty & went over the details explaining that the warranty covered the full term of the 6 year loan and 100k miles over the current millage of approx. 42k miles. The paperwork that Kevin printed didn't reflect the above info so he white it out and wrote it in for me to sign. On 5/16 I text Heidi and questioned the warranty mileage coverage, she checked with Kevin and advised that it covered 100k over current mileage. 5/27 I received my paperwork in the mail, it didn't match what I signed and was told by Heidi and Kevin. I was also curious about the interest rate that was offered by my bank because I previously got a pre-approval with a lower interest rate than what I got thru BOA on this loan. When I spoke to Kevin he confessed that the $50 credit wasn't applied and the interest rate offered by US Bank was lower but he selected BOA because it was the first offer he received. Also, he would look into the warranty because what was on the paperwork was incorrect. I called and spoke to a sales manager and explained to him the situation. He offered to tint my car windows as restitution for the missing credit and higher interest rate but I would still need to talk to Kevin about the warranty. Over the next couple of weeks I called the dealership without any returned calls and I never heard from Kevin so I called the warranty company and they informed me that they never received my warranty, the only thing they had was a quote. I asked for the terms of the quote. They advised me that it will cover 6 years and up to 100k miles. I then explained to them it should be 100k miles over the current mileage on the vehicle. The rep put me on hold to talk to the under writer, then informed me that they don't write warranties for 100k over current millage but I had the option to void the warranty within 30 days of purchase. So I called the dealership again and spoke to another sale manager, Mo. He got Kevin on the phone and Kevin said that the warranty should be what he sold me but he hasn't heard from his reps yet. He confirmed I had the option to cancel the warranty. I went into the dealership to sign the cancellation paperwork and Kevin and another finance guy assured me that the warranty was for 100k over current mileage. I signed the paperwork to void the warranty and told them that's not what the warranty company told me. Kevin said that he would hold my paperwork and talk to his reps and call me back. When he submits the paperwork I would get a credit on my loan for the amount of the warranty. I never got a return phone call so I text Kevin 6/13 to see if he found anything else out about the warranty. If not, he needed to make sure he turned in my paperwork to void the warranty. 6/14 I text Kevin to confirm he turned in the paperwork to void the warranty and he said he would do it that day. 7/8 I called the dealership because I still didn't show a credit on my loan for the warranty. I spoke to a person in finance, Zach, I explained the whole above situation to him and he assured me he would have it fixed. I never heard back from him so I called back 7/13 and spoke to the finance manager, Reed, he said the void request was never turned in and he would work on it. Reed called back on 7/22 and said he will have the warranty voided. I called 7/27 and text Zach and Kevin on 7/28 to have Reed call me regarding the interest I have been paying on the warranty. I haven't received any response so I submitted a BBB complaint. More
