Always be sure to unfold the sales/finance contract, and read and understand what you are paying for before signing. When we purchased a vehicle from this dealer they informed us our interest rate would be 4.3%, and the deal would include an extended maintenance coverage at no cost to us. Then when signing the sales contract they presented it to us in a manner to hide (not fully unfolded) the details of what we were actually agreeing to pay for. After getting the paper work home and reading the contract we signed they actually tacked on $2,800.00 for the maintenance agreement and the interest rate was bumped to 4.85%. Buyer beware, deceitful dealer. More

I have left message for Nate Smith and Robert Webb to call me back no return phone call. Now it Genie at ext 813 that has everything held up. By the way I paid for the truck. All I need is the title package so I can license the truck in Florida. Today is 8/7/2015 you'd think that was enough time. More

They WILL insist you finance (where they clearly make their money). They WILL NOT negotiate. Criteria: Shopping for a new mid-size SUV for my mother. Looking for a small/mid size SUV with a luxury interior. Looked at Nissan Rogue, Nissan Murano (beautiful car - little too big for the mid size market), Hyundai SantaFe, and Rav4. Mother loved Rav4. Ready to pay cash and pull the trigger. First the good: Our sales rep, Marcus, was nice enough. I liked him and felt he was honest and kind. He did help us locate the car my mother loved and all seemed well until the buying process. Now the bad: I was shown two vehicles - Vehicle A was a low end model with the wrong interior color. - Vehicle B was a mid range model (Nav, quiet ride, etc) with the wrong exterior color. After 3 hours of looking, I was told the vehicle I wanted was not available until May due to a strike in Canada. Instead of locating the vehicle I want, I somehow found myself being talked into Vehicle A (low end model) for the price of Vehicle B (mid-range) with the agreement that a third party would change the interior color. In other words, for the exact same price as Vehicle B (a mid-range in the wrong color with nav and leather), I could have Vehicle A (low end, louder ride, no nav) but with leather installed and the promise that 'it will look good'. What's more the I was told by the dealer was that he was taking $4000 off the price of the car, as long as I financed at the outrageous rate of 5.99%. He also informed me that I was eligible for the 1.99% promotional credit price, but with much less incentives ($1500 off). When I counter offered with a cash payment I was told no and that was the offer was final. It was clear that the dealer was making no deal and the money taken off the price of a car, was going to be made back from the ridiculous 4 point mark up and resell of the loan. I felt McKinnon gave me the run around and tried to place me in a car they didn't want and charge me for the pleasure. Summary: McKinnon's sales staff is nice. Their sales manager is a shark who will try to make money off of you by financing a loan at an awful rate which he will immediately re-sell. I was repeatedly asked why I would pay cash when 5.99% was 'so cheap' and told that I only need to make a few payments then I could pay off the balance. Needless to say I was NOT grinning when I left McKinnon. P.S - The story ended happily, as after I walked out (without being stopped mind you). I contacted Lynch Honda of Auburn via the USAA App. Lynch was quickly able to find a White RAV4 with Tan interior in a Limited Package (high end) for the same price and matched trade in value as McKinnon. So far the price of Vehicle A (low end) I was able to get Vehicle C (high end) without needing financing. Surprisingly, Lynch had not heard of a strike in Canada. I was able to take delivery Monday. To quell credit score questions, I qualified in the highest credit bracket at Lynch. Best part? I was not forced to finance for the rebates I received. More
My answer or reason for "Why" I have given McKinnon TOYOTA in Clanton, Alabama, this rating is because of their overall LACK OF customer service, ethics, morals and values. The Manager of the McKinnon TOYOTA in Clanton, Alabama, this rating is because of their overall LACK OF customer service, ethics, morals and values. The Manager of the Service Department at McKinnon TOYOTA, named Jason, has unfortunately manipulated and led his entire team of employees in the Service Department by his poor example. Therefore, because of his position, Jason is able to influence and control the actions of the entire Service Department. In the last year or so, I found a Service Coupon on McKinnon TOYOTA's Website for a Timing Belt Replacement and decided to check with the Service Department first before I used it to make sure they would take it. Upon arrival to the McKinnon Service Department, I was guaranteed several times that they would take my coupon that I found on their website. When it came time for me to pick up my car and pay for the service, Jason (McKinnon Toyota's Service Dept. Manager) states that they no longer except the coupons from their OWN WEBSITE and told me that this coupon should not even be on their website anymore. KEEP IN MIND that I asked about the coupon before the work was even started on my vehicle and I was guaranteed several times by the employee that my coupon would be accepted. The fact that I asked before the work was started and the fact that Jason waited until after my work was already done and it was time to pay, shows me that Jason is untruthful & dishonest, and leads me to believe that Jason is secretly doing things that are against company policy. Also, remember the part where Jason states that the Timing Belt Coupons should no longer be on McKinnon's Website. I have checked McKinnon's Website for several months in a row after this incident occurred, and I have found many Service Coupons still being posted on McKinnon's Website for a Timing Belt Service Special which shows that Jason was not honest and he lied to me. The Manager of McKinnon Toyota's Service Dept., named Jason, is EXTREMELY DISHONEST, UNTRUTHFUL, and MANIPULATIVE and he is NOT following company policy or protocol especially when it comes to Customer Service. The location of McKinnon TOYOTA in Clanton, AL is convenient for me so I decided to give the Service Department one more try. Once again, in March 2014, Jason lied about another Service Special Coupon that McKinnon TOYOTA was offering on their OWN WEBSITE and tried to charge me more money than what we originally agreed upon. I hope that this information about all the dishonest behavior occurring here, helps save another person from the stress and expensive prices caused by McKinnon TOYOTA's Service Department. More

I traded My 2007 chevy truck in on a 2012 toyota tundra demo with 4500 miles. When I got on line to register my toyota for the service schedule. The records on the toyota indicated that $1400 worth of repair demo with 4500 miles. When I got on line to register my toyota for the service schedule. The records on the toyota indicated that $1400 worth of repairs had been made. The next day I called Mckinnon's to inquire about the repairs to find out what they were. Some guy that calls himself Green Acres laughed and said Wayne probably ran over something with the truck. He stated the rear main seal was replaced.I told him to leave a message for Mr. Mckinnon to call me.This was about 8:30 am.I never got a response back that day.The next morning I arrived at the dealership.Larry Glenn met at the door and stated that he had no comment. He said I would have to talk to David Story the business manager.About 20 minutes later Mr. Story arrived and went in the back with Mr. Glenn. In a few minutes they came out at me at the front door.Mr.David Story very bluntly and rudely told me that they did not have to divulge any prior work to the vehicle. He smirked and said we could talk a trade deal.I said is this all you can say.Mr. Story turned and left me standing there.I have on record bought several vehicles from this dealership over 30 plus years. You can believe that it will not happen again! I recently went to McKinnon Toyota in an attempt to purchase a new Toyota Sienna. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. Larry met me at the door and was very nice. He showed me the van I was purchase a new Toyota Sienna. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. Larry met me at the door and was very nice. He showed me the van I was interested in and allowed me to test drive it. He then brought me inside so they could begin appraising my trade in and working on some numbers. At that point I never saw Larry again until I walked out- it appeared that another customer came in and he wanted to work with them instead. After sitting at Larry’s desk for some time, Brian came over to look at his numbers with me. His proposal asked the full MSRP for the Sienna and radically low-balled my trade in. I said it was not quite close enough to where I needed to be. I put a sheet of paper in front of him showing where I wanted to be and after looking at it for five seconds he quickly said “can’t do it”, stood up, and walked away. Larry came over and showed me out. Talk about trying to earn your business…. I am not sure if they think customers are stupid, but only an imbecile would have accepted their terms. Their proposal was an absolute rip off and was almost insulting. Additionally, I have never been to a dealership that did not even want to negotiate in order to try to earn my business. My counter offer was very fair and represented a healthy profit for their dealership, but they wouldn’t give it the time of day. But, I was more than happy to walk. Two weeks later I located the same exact Sienna (in a different color) that was listed below invoice at Nalley Toyota in Atlanta. I drove the 7 total hours to Atlanta and gave them my business. It is funny to me, because the deal Nalley gave me was even better than what I had proposed on the sheet of paper that McKinnon wouldn’t even consider- and Nalley had great service to go along with it. Goes to show that it is worth driving a little to have a good experience and get the best price. And it is also funny, because McKinnon still has the Sienna I was interested in on the lot. And it is still advertised at full MSRP. I wonder how long it needs to sit there before they will be willing to negotiate. Overall, McKinnon did not impress me. I guess they thought I looked dumb enough to entertain their proposed price and not negotiate a better one. Hopefully they don’t treat all customers this way. I recommend shopping around for a dealership with a fair price that at least acts like they want your business- they are out there if you are willing to look for them. This customer will not be returning McKinnon- they gave me no reason to. More
