I have a 2006 RX8 I bought form the dealership a little over three years ago. The buying experience was excellent. However, as I have taken the car in for service things have gone down hill. I found that t over three years ago. The buying experience was excellent. However, as I have taken the car in for service things have gone down hill. I found that they were charging me for more oil than the car required for an oil change on 3 occasion. On one visit I was charged over $10 for cleaning and shop supplies? Since then I have started taking the car to an independent shop and have only returned to McKinney Mazda for warranty work. In each case that I have required warranty work I am told they can not find a problem or the tires or bad or whatever excuse they can come up with not to repair the car. On my most recent trips the car was taken in for a roar coming from the rear of the car and for a shudder that would only show up after the car had been driven at highway speeds for 30 minutes or more. After 2 days I was called and told they could not find any problems. I insisted that there was a problem. The next day I was called again and told the same thing. A couple of days latter I showed up and took the service tech down the highway and was able to recreate the issue. I also brought along copies from the web of other people that was having the same problem. At this point they replace the differential which did solve the shuddering problem but the roars persist. Today I took it back and was told by the service manager that it was the tires. I told him I felt confident that it was not the tires and if he wanted he could put a set on. If it fixed the problem then great, I bought a set of tires but if not I was not paying for a set of tires I did not need. He then came back and told me that he did not have the tires I wanted in the warehouse. I ask him then what did he want to do. He suggested that he put a set on just to see and if that is the problem he would order a set. I told him that I would not bring it back to him for the tires if he did not have them now. Everything went south after that as he asked why and I proceeded to tell him of the sorry service I had received in the past and of a case where I witness his staff lie to a lady after the front wheel on her truck had came off and nearly hit my car on the way to the dealership. They had serviced the truck and on the test drive afterwards the wheel came off. They told the lady they had left the wheel nuts loose and it had wallowed out the wheel holes but nothing else. I told the lady what had happen to her truck. That the wheel had came off the truck going across the highway nearly striking my car. Her truck was sitting on the side of the road missing a wheel sitting on the rotor. They had not told her the complete story until I came along and told her. So after all was said and done I was asked to leave by the service manager. I will never buy another car from this dealership. Their service department can not be trusted to do anything even as simple as an oil change. In my opinion if you are not willing to let them rip you off they are not will to stand behind the cars they sale. More
I have gone to service deparment several times since Jan 7, 2006. I inital had an app. (made 3 weeks in advance) to have my window looked at because it was not rolling up or down. When I went in the first 7, 2006. I inital had an app. (made 3 weeks in advance) to have my window looked at because it was not rolling up or down. When I went in the first question asked was,"Do you have a ride?" At that time we had not thought about driving seperalty thinking it would be quick and they would have somewhere for us to wait. Later I would discover that they do have somewhere for you to sit, they just dont' make it a point of saying. We got a ride and before they closed we showed up hoping the car was done because they never actually called, although they wanted a number to reach you at. They said they would have to order the part so I decided to have the 30,000 mile done at the same time. Low and behold 2 weeks later they got the wrong part and a week after the service I had to miss work to find out one of my spark plugs had gone bad, although rare still something they should have checked for) and on Fed 22,2006 they still do not have the part for my window.
