My husband and I walked into McGrath Lexus in Chicago with little idea of what to expect. We had test driven a few different cars previously and got the typical car salesman -- overbearing and aggressiv with little idea of what to expect. We had test driven a few different cars previously and got the typical car salesman -- overbearing and aggressive. Our experience with Heather was the complete opposite. We test drove a few new cars and then discussed what we were looking for in a used car. She showed us the website, which not only had multiple pictures of the cars and gave info on the the standard and added features with carfax reports, but also was up to date. The last thing I wanted was to see a car online that I like and find out later it was already sold a week ago! McGrath does what it can to make sure that is not the case. Heather jotted down a few notes of what we wanted and didnt want - colors, mileage, extra features - then took down our contact info and told us she would contact us if anything new came into the lot. She recommended that we check the website on our own time and see if there is anything we like - she would be happy to make sure it was not sold and we could come in and test drive it. We walked out of the dealership with no pressure to do anything else -- we were in no rush to buy and Heather took that into account and didnt force us to make any quick decisions. A week later we were back at the dealership looking at some used cars we saw on the website. It was exactly as listed - the price on the website was what we were told when we walked in. No bait and switch here. After few test drives, we went to the office of the manager and negotiated a final price on the one we liked. It was probably the fastest negotiation I have ever seen for a car. Unlike some places,there were no games being played -- they were straight and to the point, something that I really appreciated as a first time buyer who was told by friends and family of the tricks that other dealers play. We were given time to make a decision and before we knew it we were signing paperwork and driving away in our fantastic car! Our experience with McGrath Lexus and most of all Heather O'Malley was unlike anything we would have ever expected. Buying a car, especially your first car, whether new or used is a huge endeavor and Heather made the process go more smoothly than we could have ever known was possible. More
