if I was the owner of this dealership, Evan Poddar will be out. He is the rudest, most condescending, arrogant SOO (Son of the owner) I have seen. He should be glad that he is the owners kid. Okay may be i be out. He is the rudest, most condescending, arrogant SOO (Son of the owner) I have seen. He should be glad that he is the owners kid. Okay may be its just the owners kid but not really Benny the other older guy was truly condescending as well. what is going on? Don't get all rude and angry with me because you don't know how to interact with humans. THe price is at least 1000$ more than the autobarn at countryside. Talk to them before coming to this dealership. They are xxx that are not worth your business and money. More
I absolutely hated the feeling coming out of this dealership. We have been there 2 times now and both times the customer service is just absolutely terrible. Whatever happened to 'customer is king'? dealership. We have been there 2 times now and both times the customer service is just absolutely terrible. Whatever happened to 'customer is king'? I felt terrible after talking with the people there. Papa poddar was nice initially and when we did not want to discuss the finance options turned hostile. Poddar Jr is a hyper, agressive, abrasive individual. Even if it means I don't have a new car, I will never ever go to this dealership again. Avoid if you can. More
I don't usually write reviews, but I was shocked to see the negative reviews of this dealership. I got a great deal on a barely used 2010 Forester in November 2010. Everyone I talked to in the process of b the negative reviews of this dealership. I got a great deal on a barely used 2010 Forester in November 2010. Everyone I talked to in the process of buying my car was friendly and professional. We negotiated a little, but I had done my research and they really were offering a very fair deal up front. None of the usual car salesman lines. The only negative experience in buying my car was on my trade-in. I had been side-swiped by a drunk driver a few years before and had to have a lot of body work done. The car looked great, but the car fax tanked the value. You know how you always hear to check the car fax before you buy a used car? It works the other way, too. I felt like they were being honest and fair, but you always wonder. Well, my husband found my car for sale a month or so after we traded it in. Based on what it was listed for at this other dealership, Evanston Subaru couldn't have made much, if any, money on it. I know I got a fair deal. Since then, I've brought my Subaru in to the service department for regular maintenance. Everyone, from the person who checked me in and explained what was done, the guy who drove me to the CTA (I usually drop it off before work, and pick it up after and someone there will take you to the train and then pick you up), right down to the cashiers has been very friendly and helpful. This company is truly rude, aggressive, and just plain mean to their customers. We went in at first, had a nice conversation with salesman, then when we came back to do business, the "closer" (mean guy) mean to their customers. We went in at first, had a nice conversation with salesman, then when we came back to do business, the "closer" (mean guy) came over. We had a written price quote from another dealership, but he wouldn't budge, reminding us "we've come down $1000 from sticker" (like ANYONE pays sticker price in the world. He was then rude to us, in countless ways. FINALLY, he said (arrogantly), "If you can get that price, bring me the car and the receipt and i'll give you $100 cash. We did, and we did, and then he hemmed and hawed and said that's not what he meant, and found ways not to give us the money he'd promised. These are the MOST typical, low-brow, tough-sell, stereotypical car dealers we've ever seen. GO ELSEWHERE, Mid-CIty or even Grand in Bensenville is worth it and much nicer. More
NEVER NEVER NEVER go here. Ever since I first came here NEVER NEVER NEVER go here. Ever since I first came here to get my car fixed due to an ocurring oxygen sensor malfunction, I have been nothing but dis NEVER NEVER NEVER go here. Ever since I first came here to get my car fixed due to an ocurring oxygen sensor malfunction, I have been nothing but dissapointed. My problems started at their old location in actual Evanston when I took my car in to get my O2 sensor replaced and replaced and replaced. They kept saying that as long as it goes out they will keep reaplacing it. My old dealer in Michigan said the same thing and that they didnt know what caused it, but since I paid for it to get replaced once, they will replace it whenever it happens again. It has since gone out a dozen times. I then took my car on a road trip to Denver and the same thing happened before I even left Chicago. The dealer in Denver said that there is clearly something causing it to go out. That makes sense, fine. I then take it here and they have the nerve to NOW tell me that it is my electrical hub that needs to be replaced to the tune of $2500!!!! They never told me this the countless times I've had my car in there to have the O2 senser replaced before. Thats still not even the main reason why I'm upset. Over the years I've had problems with my radio turning on by itself, the volume going up and down by itself, and the cd player kicking on while the radio is on. I asked Chris, one of the service guys, if I replace all the wiring will this solve the problem with my radio. His response was "Yes, it will cover any of the electronics". During the last couple of weeks my radio has been spazzing out again so I took it back again. Keep in mind I was there 2 months ago to get all of my electrical wiring replaced. I told Chris what was happening and he said that I will have to pay to have my radio replaced. He also said that he did'nt remember saying anything about the radio before. He then asked one of his techs about the radio and the tech said that that my year of my Outback (2005) has had numerous problems with the radio. I then left so upset and decided to call the service manager Ray. He said the same thing and that I would have to pay to replace the radio. he also said that Chris would never of said that about my radio. So in other words he was saying that what I said wasn't true. He then proceeded to start yelling at me like a little child and said "our discussion is over" and basically hung up on me. He refused to pay for my radio after the fact that I dropped nearly $3000 for a problem that has been going on after I had my car for only 2 years. On a seperate note, once they put my dashboard back on from re-wiring my car, there is nothing but excessive rattling from a botched job. They did offer to take a look at it. 1. I don't have countless hours to wait on something that they should have fixed properly the first time and 2. I will never have Evanston Subaru touch my car again. I will much rather pay a trustworthy body shop to replace my dash then go back here again. Words of wisdom: If you ever have anyone in the service department tell you something, get it in writing or else you'll regret it later. More
I forward some price quotes to this dealship and they told me about their new, very expensive, complex and how they have a party on Saturday to show off the complex. They also mentioned about how they ar told me about their new, very expensive, complex and how they have a party on Saturday to show off the complex. They also mentioned about how they are biggest sellers of Subaru in all Illinois and how they have the most selections. He gave me all the BS in the world and then made a comment that my quote from the dealership is unreal and if I want to jump on board with them. Ugh, xxxx NO! Maybe if you stop having parties and building big new complexs, you can save your customers some money. More
These guys do the job, sort of. In two different visits to the service department the mechanics, while nice enough, were absent-minded and forgot to replace a cover plate under the car requiring a return t to the service department the mechanics, while nice enough, were absent-minded and forgot to replace a cover plate under the car requiring a return trip, in addition to lack of cleanliness resulting in twice getting grease or oil on the interior of the brand new car. Unfortunately they are the only Subaru dealer in town. Not the highest of regard in comparison to some of the other dealers I have been to across the country. More
