I have two concerns that keep me from a five star review. During the weeks of waiting, he was also helpful informing me of the progress of the vehicle. On the day of delivery and purchase, personnel in sales and finance seemed to be overwhelmed, and the process took almost three hours, with me waiting between interactions with Justin and the finance person. On the day I selected the vehicle and on the day of delivery of the vehicle, I had requested a detailed explanation of the vehicle and everything I needed, but the steps I needed were rushed and I left without some important paperwork. My sales rep tried to provide me some quick information I needed to drive the vehicle home, but I was already burned out from the wait. My interaction with the finance person left a bad taste in my mouth. I expected him to make sure I was comfortable and understood the entire transaction and provide me with all of the necessary documents, and let me know how and when I would receive the title. Instead, the finance person went into great detail about pricey protection plans, without giving me enough information about the protections already included in my purchase price. The strong pushing of the pricey plans caused me to question my decision to buy a car that had so little protection included with the vehicle. A few days later, when trying to accumulate the paperwork to purchase a city sticker, I discovered I hadn't been supplied with the necessary documents, and had some difficulty getting a person on the phone who could help me, but finally did get help and did receive those documents from Tony, who was kind enough to send them by email. I recently bought a 2023 Camry from this dealership and am just now learning how dishonest they were. They claimed the car was a loaner car for a Toyota dealership which is why it said "commercial" on the am just now learning how dishonest they were. They claimed the car was a loaner car for a Toyota dealership which is why it said "commercial" on the carfax. I got the title today and it was in fact owned by a company that rents cars to ride share drivers (Uber, Lyft, etc). Had I known this I wouldn't have purchased it. I was sold a bogus warranty for the windshield that can only be used at the elmhurst dealership (which I live an hour away from) and they said that it was mandatory to get the warranty to purchase the car. Upon reading the warranty agreement when I got home it stated it was not required to purchase the warranty to purchase the car. Another lie. When I contacted the finance manager he refused to refund the $400 cost of the useless warranty. Also, I was only provided one key due to a chip shortage and was told it would be $425 for an extra key. I got an email from Toyota a few weeks later saying that it was eligible for a free key. If I'd listened to elmhurst I'd have paid them for the second key as they failed to mention that a free key would be offered once the shortage was resolved. Maybe all car dealerships operate this way and I was just not assertive enough. I tried to question the finance person but he just rushed me through everything. I don't usually leave reviews but feel that buying a car is a huge expense for most people and I know that I appreciate honest reviews. More
