We drove 3 hours to look at a used SUV that we had called about and were assured that it would be ready to test drive when we got there. When we arrived, the staff was eating dinner and asked us to wait 5 mi about and were assured that it would be ready to test drive when we got there. When we arrived, the staff was eating dinner and asked us to wait 5 minutes and they would be with us. We walked around the lot and waited another 20 minutes. We finally had to ask someone to help us. After waiting another 10 minutes to find the keys to the SUV we wanted to look at, they informed us that they had just sold it. Then the sales tactics began. They tried to get us to test drive new ones that were way out of our price range. They told us they would call us when they had found a used one that matched our description, and we have yet to hear back from them. If you are looking for awful customer service and lack of professionalism, this is the place for you. I would avoid this place at all costs. More
This was first dealer we went to for a used SUV. Typical high-pressure sales tactics to close the deal when we specifically stated we just wanted a quote on a vehicle. We sat in a 2010 SUV and when asked ab high-pressure sales tactics to close the deal when we specifically stated we just wanted a quote on a vehicle. We sat in a 2010 SUV and when asked about a 2009 used version, were told we'd pay the same price for either vehicle. Whaaat??? We wanted to leave, but couldn't get a firm quote unless we took the car home same day. Eddie wanted us to talk to his manager. Told them to call us with a solid quote ASAP and as soon as they gave us one, we'd make a decision. Got several vague messages the following day and when we called back the price was now $4k higher than ballpark price from day before. They wouldn't do any better unless we came to the showroom. Sorry - no thanks - don't need to be coerced into coming back as other dealers gave us competitive prices over the phone. McGrath is the old-fashioned, hard-sell dealership your father warned you about. Don't go... many other reputable dealers out there who deserve your business. More
ok. The car, hyundai accent 2009 gls was priced at $12,000 (used) with 30k miles. At another used car lot, the same car with just 14,000 miles was priced at $8,495. McGrath did not provide me with a $12,000 (used) with 30k miles. At another used car lot, the same car with just 14,000 miles was priced at $8,495. McGrath did not provide me with a carfax or autocheck, but when I did look the car up, I found out it had been in an accident. I was told I was approved for financing and took the car home after trading in my other vehicle on a Monday. That weekend, I was told I had to come up with an additional $2,500 to keep the deal. I spend about 4 hours at McGrath on that Saturday while they worked on another deal. They showed me a different vehicle, a 2007 Elantra, which was filthy! Grease spots on the seats and empty fast food boxes inside. When I commented on the condition, the salesman said "What do you expect from a car that's a few years old?" Now - about the finance department. I felt like they thought I was xxxxxxxx or something. They told me to go to another building (McGrath Honda) and "stand by the door while the deal is hot." After signing all the papers and being told the deal had been closed, I was informed I must provide two more proofs of my residence, as I had recently moved. At this point, I just left, as I really didn't think that paying $10,000 for the filthy 2007 Elantra was such a good deal. The salesman also told my 13 daughter that he had underwear older than her. He seemed to have very poor boundaries, and commented several times on how good he looked for his age, which he told us was about 41 - we didn't ask. We came to look at cars, not validate the salesman's ego. Overpriced, poor service, and when we checked the auto check on many of the used vehicles at their lot, we found that most had been in accidents. The salesman put down the used lot (Millenium Auto), but actually, the used cars there were priced much lower, and had clean auto checks. Take your business somewhere else if you want to avoid my bad experience. More
This is for Mcgrath Honda City in Chicago. This salesman Dave Kazarian upsold me a certified warranty for $500 saying that it covered 100000 miles beyond what the car had on it. When I got the warranty car Dave Kazarian upsold me a certified warranty for $500 saying that it covered 100000 miles beyond what the car had on it. When I got the warranty card in the mail it actually only covered up to 100000 miles...big difference. I was quite upset and asked for a refund and he said there was nothing he could do. Very crooked...never trust this salesmand, I also caught him in a few white lies while we were there. Avoid! More
