They are the best, service in the service dept. was handled was concern. Nasir did his best to see that we looked at every Santa Fe on the lot, eplained to us what features each car had and let us test drive each car until we were satisfied. After we took the Santa Fe home, he called us to see if everything was ok. He made sure that we had an appointment to bring the Santa Fe in for the additional services we purchased. Good person he is. More
I had a great overall experience there. I was not as pleased with my orginal sales manager, however the GM, Mr. Adams, took over the sale and I dealt mostly with him. Short story: Sadian Mathews played games with us. He tried to upsell us, add on unwanted packages, and gave us a ridiculously low quote on our trade-in. We refuse to deal with such unethical tactics. By tried to upsell us, add on unwanted packages, and gave us a ridiculously low quote on our trade-in. We refuse to deal with such unethical tactics. Bye bye McGrath Hyundai! Longer story: I hesitated in writing this since Sadian Mathews already wasted enough of my time and energy. I had been dealing with Elba (internet sales) initially. She reported they had some new Elantras, but they were selling quickly. We decided to check it out in person. Our biggest mistake was not negotiating the price over the internet first. Sadian Mathews, salesperson, was by our car waiting for us to get out before we turned off the engine, quite like a shark spotting its prey. He asked us what we wanted, and we told him wanted out the door pricing for a new 2012 Elantra base model, no preferred package or upgrades. We had to explain to him what the Elantra's preferred package was, already a bad sign he was acting unfamiliar with all the features. He seemed new at what he was doing but he probably isn't. We are savvy consumers and had done our research as to invoice price, dealer holdback, etc., so we knew what a fair price would be, and we wanted to negotiate the best deal. Sadian kept getting up and leaving to talk to his manager. He came back and explained how new Elantras are selling like hotcakes. So, he offered to sell us a used Elantra with 8000 miles despite our already having told him we want a new car. He then asked if we'd consider a Sonata instead, which of course costs much more than the Elantra. He then stated that the price of any of their cars would have an extra $1900 (or so) package added on which is STANDARD for McGrath to add on, per Sadian. He reported this package included some kind of detailing, brake light feature, waxing, etc. When we pointed out again that we don't want extras, he said he might be able to negotiate that STANDARD PACKAGE down half price!! I wanted to walk out at that point and should have. You're claiming your car will already cost almost $2000 more than any other dealership which doesn't have this STANDARD package! Please don't treat 2 physicians (or anyone!) like we're morons! We had told him point blank we wanted to negotiate the price of a new Elantra, and he dodged negotiating a price, even calling in his manager Jody to tell us they'd have to notify us when a new one came in and then we could discuss numbers. Jody stated he was confident he could beat the pricing we showed from another dealer, but again, no specifics were offered; he shook our hands and essentially was sending us on our way. Pricing doesn't exist unless a car is on your lot?! Sadian had someone evaluate our trade-in as we had been talking. We had CarMax and another dealer offer us around $1200-1250, and Kelley Blue Book suggested our car was worth about $2200 to a private party. After Jody tried to send us on our way, Sadian hadn't revealed the quote for our trade-in. I actually had to ask, and Sadian seemed caught off-guard, as if he was making the number up. Sadian told us the person who evaluated our car would offer $800!! He then said since we're good people, he'll fight for us to get that higher if he could... playing good guy vs. bad guy. It felt like such an effort to try to get a simple answer (out the door price); when we realized Sadian wouldn't discuss pricing, we knew McGrath would keep trying to bait and switch us. We should be able to negotiate a price, then the dealer should try to find us our car, even if it means we have to wait (which we were willing to do given the popularity of the Elantra - we're not unreasonable or unrealistic) and possibly put down a deposit for this to happen. You wasted over 1 hour of our lives which I wish we could get back. All that Starbucks you offered us despite our multiple refusals doesn't make you a classy person, Sadian. And for some strange reason, he kept emailing/calling after this visit despite still not having a new Elantra in stock. What did you want to talk about? How you have nothing to talk about?! I am contacting Hyundai's corporate offices regarding McGrath Hyundai. Don't treat your customers like this; this is the issue!! BEWARE!! More
We really appreciated the customer oriented staff at McGrath. They made sure that we were 110% satisfied with our purchase. And the sales representative that handled our needs went above and beyond. He McGrath. They made sure that we were 110% satisfied with our purchase. And the sales representative that handled our needs went above and beyond. He was the first to orient us with how to use each feature inside the car after our purchase. Thank you McGrath! More
I traveled far to McGrath after hearing positive things from a co-worker. Once we got there, Marcus just handed us the keys to the car and let us take off for a test drive. I was uncomfortable with this si from a co-worker. Once we got there, Marcus just handed us the keys to the car and let us take off for a test drive. I was uncomfortable with this since we didn't know the area very well, let alone any of the features of the vehicle. I have always had a salesperson accompany me on a test drive for legality puroses, and to answer any questions that came up during the drive. So even after we took a quick ride around the block alone, I didn't honestly feel I could appreciate the feel of the car. When we returned and started the process we told Marcus that we wouldn't be buying today, as we wanted to make an extremely informed choice on such a large, important family purchase. At this point he became visibly annoyed, then all of a sudden he handed us off to another salesperson. Really?!? I again was under the impression that the salespeople are there to help customers, and answer any questions they may have. He acted as he was doing us a favor by even acknowledging us. His blatant lack of professionalism left much to be desired. At this point I had lost all hope in this dealership and was upset we had wasted my day for this! After being treated like this I will not be returning to McGrath, nor will I recommend this establishment. More
Mike is the model salesperson- he takes the time to really listen to what his customers' needs are, then he takes that information and finds what his client is looking for. I wasn't pressured, or pushe really listen to what his customers' needs are, then he takes that information and finds what his client is looking for. I wasn't pressured, or pushed to buy like at other dealerships. I wanted to buy b/c Mike presented me with a car that met all of my needs. If all of my car buying experiences were like they were with Mike, I wouldn't hate the car buying process. Actually i won't hate it, b/c I know Mike will make it a positive experience, just like this one was! Now that's how car buying should be-no pressure, just communication and active listening by an experienced, very qualified, personable individual. Thanks Mike! More
I had already been to another Hyundai dealer in Chicago, Grossinger, and was disappointed with the salesperson, with the exact car they were trying to get me to buy, and with the price they quoted me. When Grossinger, and was disappointed with the salesperson, with the exact car they were trying to get me to buy, and with the price they quoted me. When I pulled up to McGrath, Mike Stringini acknowledged my arrival even before I left my car. He and Mike Pace were informative, helpful, and warm throughout the long process of making the final decision to buy-- which we all know can be intimidating. Mike Stringini got me an extremely fair price on a new model that just arrived. Because my husband was at home, I was allowed to drive home to show my husband the car before we both drove back to finalize the deal. After the financing was finalized, I was given detailed instruction on all the features of the car. They went above and beyond, driving my old car back to my house five days later. I can't say enough about Mike and Mike. The only negative in the process was with the financial department, which pressed us hard to buy an extended warranty. More
We were looking to purchase a car and we came to Mcgrath because we have always dealt with them and like the dealership. We were not very satisfied with the salesman Marcus, he was very rude and short with because we have always dealt with them and like the dealership. We were not very satisfied with the salesman Marcus, he was very rude and short with us the entire time. We were prepared to purchase a car that day but I will not buy something from someone who can not do their job and be courteous to everyone that is a customer More
I usually don't write reviews on many things, but they service that I received from this dealership and in particular Mike Pace has been second to none. I've have purchased several cars in the past coupl service that I received from this dealership and in particular Mike Pace has been second to none. I've have purchased several cars in the past couple of years both new and used. I was use to the usual games/tricks of dealerships and I have to say this place is the most professional dealership and salesman I've ever dealt with. There were no ad gimmicks, I went in told them what car I wanted with the options that wanted (Genesis Coupe), told them what I though was a in all honesty a fairly low offer for the car. They agreed without any fuss and I was out with a new car in the shortest time I've spent buying a car. Mike Pace, best salesman I've ever met. He was honest, no bull, upfront guy, wish there were more like him. In my opinion best Hyundai dealership, let me correct that, best dealership I have ever dealt with! More
