This is my 3rd new TSX from McGrath and Ben. Each experience has been excellent. I was encouraged to come in by letter and e-mail to have my existing lease reviewed. This resulted in walking (driving experience has been excellent. I was encouraged to come in by letter and e-mail to have my existing lease reviewed. This resulted in walking (driving) out with a new car at a slightly lower lease price. I couldn't think of a downside to this transaction! I hadn't planned to turn my previous lease in early, but this was a happy surprice and it's a very sharp looking and comfortable car for me. There is nothing elegant or pleasant about buying a used, oops....previously owned car. The customer is forced to trade-off condition of the car (what you can and cannot see), the value of a certified car, mileage, model year, color preferences (interior and exterior), important options (such as navigation), the value of your time in running from dealer to dealer (since each car must be inspected)...and...the value of your trade in. The textbook is correct when it says do not fall in love with a particular used car and know the value of your trade-in. Acura.com and CarMax are two good sources to help frame the range of what is a "fair deal" on the value of a car and value of trade if negotiating with a dealership. It is absolutely no surprise that CarMax is one of the best performing companies (and stocks) given their amazing selection, no-haggle price policy and pristine reputation. McGrath Acura of Morton Grove has one of the better selections of previously owned and certified Acuras in the Chicago area. The salesman, Steven, was very professional and straightforward, and the process of purchasing a car involved the typical (some might find it entertaining or a non work-related challenge ... most will not) back and forth typical of a negotiating process.
