Foo The dealer contacted me, offering to swap out my existing TLX lease for a model year newer at the same price. I came in and they did exactly that. Foolishly I didn't go to TrueCar first. If I had, I would have seen that TLX prices have plummeted since I got my original TLX. I should have waited for the lease to expire and then renegotiated a new lease for $150 less per month. I'm now locked in to paying WAY above FMV for the next 3 years. Now I understand why everyone at the dealership was all smiles; I was the sucker in the room. I was a loyal customer of McGrath and for some reason thought they wouldn't try to trick me. Guess I was wrong. Lesson learned. More
I was sold a damaged vehicle and they would not replace it. I'm writing a review based on my third purchase at Mc Grath Acura of Morton Grove. My previous two experiences were fine which is why I came back a third time. I purchased a new Acura MDX Advance with entertainment package for right around 54,000. They immediately sat me down with a rookie salesman who did not know what he was doing. Through the negotiation of a price on the car and a price for my trade-in they switched sales persons on me. As they became more confusing in the cost and the trade-in value the sales manager also sat down with me. They were very aggressive at getting me to take home a car that evening that I did not want. I refused and so they acquired the color and model I wanted from their Chicago McGrath location. I was sent home in a loaner car instead of my own because of their concern I might change my mind. The next day the new car was to be prepared with mudguards, all season floor mats, and wheel locks. When I came in to pick up the car at 5 PM they had told me the mudguards were not in and I would have to come back the next day to have them installed. I took pictures of the car in the delivery bay thankfully because it reveals the damage to the front bumper present upon delivery. A trim panel on the right side was popped out and there was a very dull paint finish all over the right side of the bumper. This was the biggest of my nightmares. Besides that there was still white film from factory delivery on the roof of the car, the passenger side rear door had lower door sill trim popped up, there are scratches in the center console that cannot be removed, there was grease all over the video display, and in general they did a very cheap job of cleaning up their most expensive vehicle model they sell. When I went into get the mud guards installed I was told that they were in fact available and could have been installed on the time of delivery. The damage to the front bumper was pointed out to the sales manager who took very little concern. When I asked him to get it fixed I drove the car in for him to look at it once more. He had his assistant promise me to call the next day to set an appointment. That never happened and so I called back to them. Two days of repeated messages to Mr. Yu were disregarded so I then contacted Sam the general manager. Once again I had to drive the car in 25 miles one way mind you to have the general manager look at the damages. Sam made a comment that I thought was very troubling stating that someone in the factory must have wanted to quit early on a Friday afternoon and it look like the bumper was not fully painted. I was told the bumper may need to be removed to be repaired. At that point the car had less than 300 miles and I stated they should replace it with a vehicle that was not damaged. Sam had Bob the general service manager set me an appointment to have the body shop try to buff the dullness out of the bumper AND fix a small dent that they caused when installing the mud guards. On my sixth visit thinking I was going to get the car repaired that should have been delivered perfect in the first place I come in to find out that the person that does paintless dent repair tech is not in on Mondays. Therefore I was required to come back a seventh time to finally get the car I expected. They were able to buff out the dullness on the bumper and a very poor job of fixing the dent. I drove the car home and gave it a really good look and what it's very apparent is that this car had a front and impact causing this bumper problem. The right side does not line up well with the metal quarter panel. I have attempted to contact Acura corporate and only get phone tag from a guy who never answers his phone name Anthony. I will adamantly speak out against Mc Grath Acura for their poor treatment of a third time customer and I will consider not buying an Acura again in the future. Keep in mind I have purchased seven new Hondas and three new Acura is in my lifetime. Mc Grath will screw you too! Five trips 25 miles one way were not needed. That's 250 miles of driving in heavy traffic to deal with a bunch of xxxxxxxx! More
Very shady dealer, most unprofessional I've ever dealt with I know it is a serious thing to post a negative review for a business online, so I've really waited until I had thorough exposure to write this. I bo I know it is a serious thing to post a negative review for a business online, so I've really waited until I had thorough exposure to write this. I bought a 2013 certified TL from this dealership in January 2016. The buying experience was not the best. I had a nice enough sales woman but the manager would barely negotiate on price. We finally did find a TL that worked and agreed on the price. I already had financing through a credit union but they wanted to see if they could do better. The finance guy was an idiot and tried to get me to sign with McGrath's private warranty company in lieu of Acura Care. He got frustrated and told me just to sign the paper already. I refused as I had Acura Care on my other TL and knew the benefits. I ended up getting an offer for Acura Care online through Curry Acura, which is somewhere on the east coast but offers extended warranties online. The guy at Curry let me know that McGrath should have offered me the warranties at really good rates, instead they were pushing Ethos at a large premium with lesser coverage. Here is the Curry website in case you are curious: http://www.curryacuracare.com I still agreed to buy the car that night but said I was going with my own warranty and credit union. Came back for the car the next day and the manager said what he had to get me to finance through them which I did just to avoid the headache of dealing with the 3rd party. He admitted too that Ethos is just McGrath's warranty program and agreed to sell me the Acura Care for 7 yrs, 120k miles for $1,500 with $0 deductible. Very shady how I had to go about getting this offered. They never told me who my financing was through, nor did they ever provide my insurance information to the bank. So it took getting a notice in the mail to know who I was financed through and then threatening letters to know that my insurance information was never provided. Additionally, this McGrath advantage crap is exactly that, not worth it. They touted it to sell the car but the vehicle was never added which I found out when visiting McGrath Honda Elgin for an oil change. So I have the car and within the week the car is pulling off the road and the brakes are shaky on the highway. I bring it in and of course "nothing is wrong". I spend $300 getting alignments and road force balancing at another Acura dealership and they found a defective tire. They recommended that I go back to the selling dealership for the tire issue. McGrath spent 3 weeks "reviewing" my documentation and then agreed to replace the tire. I got the call that it was in and just to stop in for a quick swap. I went in and waited almost 3 hours for one tire to get replaced because they were verifying warranty stuff. I did not have a good experience buying the car, nor servicing it. Compared to Muller's or Continental, this place is a joke. Even McGrath downtown (not connected even with the same name) is light years ahead of this place. Do yourself a favor and do not go to this place. More
Excellent sales staff. Noonya is the best The sales staff was responsive, but did not pressure me in any way. I felt comfortable making a deal, and I am happy with my purchase. We had been in contact at least a dozen times over the months long course of my search for the right used Acura and I'm reasonably certain she answered more than a few of those texts on her day off. I appreciate that and apologize all at the same time. When push came to shove, and it kind of did, she went to the wall and supported me 100% in my quest for the ILX. "That ILX IS SOLD!" This kind of attention and service are more valuable than gold. More
