John Ta responded to an inquiry initiated through a car buying service, and was immediately price competitive. This was refreshing after experiencing an attitude of "we're the only show in town" from a dea buying service, and was immediately price competitive. After establishing a great price, John worked diligently and politely to close the deal - which was precisely the price and options promised (I added an OEM hitch at a very competitive price). Next, Alex took over to make sure I was comfortable with the operation of the technology included with the vehicle. She was very patient, and an excellent teacher - it was indeed a pleasure to work with her. Even though there is an Acura dealer within 2 miles of my house, I will likely travel 100 miles for service. McGrath knows how to provide an excellent buying experience, and I'm confident the service will follow suit. I will make sure to tell my friends, family, and neighbors that a great deal, and excellent buying experience can be enjoyed by traveling to Chicago. More

My experience with McGrath was that it far exceeded my expectations. I had visited other showrooms and dealt with pushy sales people, so my expectations were based on past experiences. In this case, my expectations were so far below my actual experience. I got a call from Ksenia when I expressed interest in the 2003 Volkswagen Passat GLX, that I ultimately ended up purchasing. She set me up with an appointment, so when I arrived, I was expected and everything was ready. She was not pushy in the least. She was very friendly and understanding as I explained my situation and what I was looking for. Then Sylvia, our finance person, went above and beyond to find the best interest rate possible for my car loan and worked with me to hammer out all the details to make things happen. The car had an issue with the brake sensor not registering the application of the brakes and when I brought that to their attention, John, in the service department, took care of everything! He secured a loaner car for me and got to work to figure out what needed to be done to take care of the problem. And then McGrath even covered the cost of the repairs!! I am beyond satisfied. Now I know why they say "When you do the math, you choose McGrath" I would highly recommend them for your next car purchase! More
This is the first time I have ever written a review, let me start by saying what a pleasurable experience I had at McGrath Acura. I had been looking for a Acura TL on the internet for sometime. McGrath Acur me start by saying what a pleasurable experience I had at McGrath Acura. I had been looking for a Acura TL on the internet for sometime. McGrath Acura had two TL with low millage, I sent an e-mail requesting information on both vehicles. I received a response from Neal Firszt who invited me to come and take a test drive. I met Neal and took the test drive, Neal was very knowledgeable and explained the vehicle in detail. After the test drive I was stuck between the 2011 and 2012 TL, Neal and I went over some numbers on both vehicles and I told Neal give me a couple of days to make my decision. Neal introduced me to John Kokkalis (Pre-Own Sales Manager) who told me when I decide come back in and we will give you the best deal possible. Neal and John did not do the typical double team and try and pressure me into buying a vehicle from them. They were professional and understanding, this sold me on McGrath more than the vehicles. I have been in other dealerships and they try what I call every trick in the book to make sure you buy a car from them as soon as you walk in the door, including asking for a deposit. I called Neal the next day and told him I wanted the 2012 TL and gave him the day I would return to purchase the vehicle. The day I returned to purchase the vehicle I met with Neal and John we settled on a price and this was not the typical I talk with Neal then he goes and talks to John and comes back to me to tell me what John had to say. No we all sat down and in no time we had a deal, I had done my research on the vehicle and I know I got a fantastic deal and on top of it they gave a good deal on my trade in. Time to sign the paper work I was introduced to James Licardie (Finance Manager) James went over the paper work prior to signing and offered the extended warranty. James like Neal and John was very professional and did not pressure me into purchasing the extended warranty. After everything had been signed I met with Alex Kinnally (Delivery Manager) who walked me through the vehicle. Alex knowledge of the vehicle was fantastic, I had watched several YouTube videos on the TL and I thought I had a good understanding of the vehicle until Alex proved me wrong. I asked Alex how long she had been with McGrath and she stated only a short time and this was the first time that she has worked in the auto industry. The knowledge Alex had not only about the TL but about Acura past, present and future vehicles was that of a seasoned veteran. I would like the thank the staff at McGrath Aucra for a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new or used Acura. More
I contacted this dealership for MDX and talked to Pre-owned sales manager John Kokkalis. This was the worst experience of me dealing with any dealer. That guy needs to learn how to talk to customers. When I told him I have not made any offer and only mentioned my budget, his response was, "why am I even talking to you then". What a bad attitude in this line of business. He also said "I don't care what other Acura dealers are selling for but this is my price and if you haven't made any offer I don't even want to talk to you." News for him - I went ahead next day and bought BMW X5. Too bad this dealership lost the business and guess what, I will be spreading the word around as much as I can!! Stay away from such dealers and definitely stay away from John Kokkalis!! More

However, unlike every other dealership we'd been to, everyone we dealt with there was professional, courteous, appropriate and eager to help us. We were not kept waiting long as elsewhere, and our salesman Sean was a genuinely nice guy who was very accommodating and did not pressure us at all. The car, a black S40 with a sun roof and leather seats was exactly as advertised and at the same incredibly low price mentioned in the ad. We were personally greeted by the sales manager and Frank, the finance officer was very pleasant and made our purchase of the car nearly effortless. He even called the finance company back to get us a lower interest rate than they originally offered. The waiting area far exceeded that of any dealership to which we've ever been. Complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate and bottled water were available, and plush upholstered seating was featured throughout the waiting area. They also provided waiting clients with rows of very comfortable seating in front of a large-screen TV, and had nearly completed a Zen room for quiet meditation. Incredibly, they were even installing a snack bar for clients as well. As we expected, this was the first car we brought to our mechanic that he found in truly good condition - and not only in good condition but excellent condition, with no codes, and nothing to repair. This dealership is a quantum leap ahead of any car dealership we have either visited or heard about. Needless to say, they will be our first destination whenever we need another car! More
We just purchased a new Acura MDX from McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago and were delighted with the entire transaction. Special kudos to, besides Barry, Meredith Peterik, Client Releations Manager, who spent time to know us and make sure we were happy with our vehicle, John O'Brien, the service advisor who met us now, before there is a need for service, to explain the vehicle's maintenance requirements and the services offered by his depratment, Thomas Whitfield, who helped explain to us all of the bells and whistles on our new vehicle, and Danier Grovaer, Sales Manager, who really made the negotiation a quick and easy process. Needless to say, we were throughly impressed by this dealership. Today I went back for all weather floor mats, and the parts manager was very helpful and friendly. We did get to meet the owner, Kevin McGrath, who was truly interested in our transaction and that we were fully satisfied. Very impressive and professional. We highly recommend this dealership. Make sure you ask for Barry and you won't be disappointed! More
