I initially gave this dealership 5 stars after great experience with a car service. I recently bought a used 2017 MDX from them and have had a horrific experience. This is a FRAUDULENT dealership and yo experience with a car service. I recently bought a used 2017 MDX from them and have had a horrific experience. This is a FRAUDULENT dealership and you should avoid at all costs!!! 1 ======= I come in on day one to talk about buying a car. We go back and forth and eventually I get one of the sales managers to soft offer me $1000 below asking price. I said I'll think about it and I left for that day. I came in the next morning and said I would like to buy the car for $1000 below, but not with the extra ~$1,300 extra needed for pre-owned certification. The sales manager that day was different from the day before, and flatly rejected the $1000 discount I was offered the day before. I asked them how am I supposed to negotiate with them if they don't honor their word? After I berated them for doing a bait and switch on me, they offered me a $1000 discount but only if it included the $1300 pre-owned certification, so actually $300 more expensive than their original asking price. Wow, horrible bad-faith negotiating there. I said fine, I'm sick of dealing with you folks already so I'll take the deal. I was tired of being in their office for 7 hours total at this point. 2 ========= I start signing the paperwork for the car. I am in the finance office, and my home boy Jimmy Gerhardt starts pressuring me to buy these extended warranties, buy these various insurance contracts, and I explicitly told him I didn't want any of them. He said "okay no problem" and put some contracts in front of me and told me where to sign. Assuming he wasn't outright scamming me, I skimmed over the contracts and signed them, thinking they didn't include everything I JUST EXPLICITLY TOLD HIM I DIDN'T WANT. I go home and a few days later, I start scanning all of my documents Jimmy gave me. I noticed something odd, I see a bunch of extended warranties and contracts I remember saying I didn't want. Not only that, but I was missing the itemization of my finance page, so I couldn't see where my financing was being put towards. I email Jimmy and politely asked him to send over the itemziation. He did, and I notice that there is a line for $2000 for "Total Other Charges and Amounts Paid on Your Behalf." HUH, weird! I added up the price listed on these contracts and sure enough, J-Dog just sold me almost $1,400 worth of extended warranties and insurance contracts. Holy sh**. But here's the real kicker: **** the contracts that Jimmy fradulently sold to me WERE NOT EVEN FOR THE CAR THAT I PURCHASED *** The warranties and contracts had a completely different car on them: different VIN, purchase date, odometer reading, AND COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NAMES listed as the contract holder. My name is Landon, and a Peter Lane was listed as the contract holder. Who tf is Peter? So what this means is that if I hadn't caught Jimmy's deception and my car broke down, the insurance and warranties I signed would not have been enforceable since I didn't own the car that was listed on them, which means I would have been forced to pay out of my own pocket to McGrath to fix any repairs. They get commissions from signing these illegitimate and illegal contracts, and make them unenforceable which thus forces the consumer to foot the bill for any future claims. Moral of the Story ================= Do not go to McGrath. They will wear you down, play mind tricks on you, and coerce you into buying unnecessary contracts. If you refuse contracts, they will deceive you anyway and get you to sign things you don't want. Read everything you are signing THOROUGHLY! They will try to trick you! Horrible experience from top to bottom, they have tried to trick, defraud, and gouge me every step of the way and unfortunately, I fell for it. I will never buy a car from such a disreputable dealership again. More
High pressure, shady tactics to dupe you into purchasing a car. We were asked to wait for a test drive and told another couple was taking the car out. Keep in mind we hadn’t seen another customer in the two a car. We were asked to wait for a test drive and told another couple was taking the car out. Keep in mind we hadn’t seen another customer in the two hours we were there. We waited twenty mins to test drive the car. After the ride, the high-pressure sales tactics hit hard. This supposed couple was moments away from signing. We were told that 2018 RDXs rarely - if ever - come to their car lot. And we were berated for not being ready that day to buy. Our only mistake was not leaving sooner. Great place to come if you’re looking for a typical sleazy used car dealership experience. More
