Ocean Subaru is a great no hassel, no pressure dealership. Hands down, just a great place to look for a car. I had little research on the car I was looking at, and did not need it due to the att dealership. Hands down, just a great place to look for a car. I had little research on the car I was looking at, and did not need it due to the attention and service given by Ben Allen. I hate when salesmen grab you once you make two steps onto the lot, but Ben thankfully did not do that. He graciously introduced himself then gave us all the time we wanted to look around first. He was very informative about the car, and was overall a great sales person. Highly recommend shopping here for anyone, look for Ben. More
My wife and I bought a 2011 Subaru Outback from Ocean Subaru back in August - around the 12th or so. We had actually purchased a 2010 Subaru Outback earlier that year and a few thousand miles later we w Subaru back in August - around the 12th or so. We had actually purchased a 2010 Subaru Outback earlier that year and a few thousand miles later we were struck by a teen driver and our new car was totaled. We thought about buying another Subaru from our local dealer (we live in Madison, CT) but before we did I looked around to see which dealers had what Outbacks. Ocean Subaru happened to have a car that met my wife's criteria: Subaru. Blue or green (it was blue). Manual transmission. Premium package. Moonroof. Because Ocean Subaru is so far from us, we settled on a price with our eventual consultant, Don Walters. Don is really the reason for this message! He made every facet of our buying experience a breeze, from emails back and forth, to greeting us at the dealership after our 2 1/2 hour drive up to expediting the paperwork. It was honestly the best (and easiest) car-buying experience we've ever had. We were made to feel comfortable throughout the entire process. After our Subaru kept us safe in such a bad accident, we will be loyal Subaru customers. And after Don Walters and Ocean Subaru made our 2nd new car buying experience in a matter of months so smooth, we will be loyal Ocean customers. More
Cheryl Pierro is a great salesperson. I walked in having been to several other dealers. I was up front with Cheryl letting her know I was looking for the best deal, and that I was a previous Subaru owner ha been to several other dealers. I was up front with Cheryl letting her know I was looking for the best deal, and that I was a previous Subaru owner having bought from another local dealer. I shared my quotes and without hesitation I was given a price $300 less for the same car, a base model, and, was given $200 more on my trade as well. However, when the car was located it had more options than I anticipated, nothing huge, but still more - and it was not suggested I pay for them, nor would I have - had that been the case I would be writing a different kind of review. When signing all the paperwork the manager spoke to me about extended warranties and pre-paid maintenance plans. There were no questionable/changeable numbers spoken, just facts printed out - what a concept! I wanted to think about it a bit to decide what I wanted and told him this - and that was fine, I felt no pressure at all. Extended warranties can be bought any time from any dealer before the 36,000 mile Subaru new car warranty expires. Besides the friendly, no-pressure staff, another great thing about this dealership is that when working the car cost numbers there is no nonsense - you find out what you want and make a deal within 20 minutes. Yes, they say "I need to talk to the manager," but Cheryl was not gone for 15 minutes, maybe 5, and this because a car was being found at another dealership, out of state. When I had other questions Cheryl either answered them herself or it was only another minute wait, so not a big deal. Cheryl, and the other salespeople, seem to know their information so do not need to waste their time and yours. I suspect this, "I need to talk to the manager" lingo at other dealerships is really 14 of the 15 minutes, and more from my experience, talking to the manager about what they are doing for the weekend - so rude. When I picked up my car Cheryl remembered the details, like taking my toll transponder out of my trade car. And even though it was after her working hours, she took the time to show me every everything in the new car - knowing how to turn the headlights and windshield wipers on is an important thing on a rainy night. There are dealerships everywhere, no one needs to settle. The dealerships are getting your business, your money - so why be treated like they are doing you a favor. Shop around. But if you're looking to buy a Subaru in New Hampshire, Maine, or Massachusetts, it will likely be worth a drive to North Hampton to Ocean Subaru. Make it a day trip and go to the beach while you are in town - what do you have to lose? More
