I went to Ocean Subaru on 8/31/13 to get a new "to me" vehicle. I already had a couple vehicles in mind but since my credit is improving but not flawless I wanted to make sure I could get something in me" vehicle. Not only did I get the exact car I wanted (2011 Subaru Legacy Premium) but for far less than I expected. Jim was our salesman and was knowledgeable, respectful, and not pushy like almost every other car salesmen I have encountered. He had an appointment with another customer so other salesmen/saleswomen helped us with any questions we had without batting an eye. Everyone was just so wonderfully helpful. Even the finance manager was excellent. Ocean Subaru has a culture like no other dealer I have ever dealt with and it was refreshing. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone and everyone. Although some of the vehicles seemed a little bit high but that's why you negotiate. I got a good deal on my car but I also did my homework to get that deal. My biggest suggestion is to check out their inventory online and know the price of the vehicle(s) you are interested in or the deals they have online and mention it when negotiating a price. I can't stress enough though that my experience at Ocean Subaru was excellent! Great job by all, thank you. We are now a Subaru family because of this great experience. We had already decided on a Subaru Forester as we had bought a 2012 with our son. With the redesign of the 2014 the Forester has been very hard to find. We tried the dealership we previously bought fro bought a 2012 with our son. With the redesign of the 2014 the Forester has been very hard to find. We tried the dealership we previously bought from and a few others trying to find a 2.5i premium with all weather package. I went to True car to try and find what I was looking for and Ocean called literally within a minute of finishing the application. We struck a great deal on a car that another dealer was willing to trade. Unfortunately, the other dealer reneged and left us without a car. Ocean had a gray 2.5 i premium coming in and they worked to find us another trade, ending up with our second choice - Marine Blue. They installed a fog light kit and we literally made one visit to sign the papers and the next day Ben Allen delivered the car to our door. Ben and Michelle were great as was the whole dealership. The entire deal was done on the phone and internet and they went the extra mile to make it easy for us even though it was a 45 minute drive. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Ocean to anyone in the market for a Subaru! More
Lack of communication is the biggest problem with this dealership. We traded in our honda fit for a new Crosstrek. Sounds easy enough, right? Not quite. We have Ben tell us to don't make our next payment on our Fit because its easier for them to pay off the Fit themselves. Then after we swap cars it turns out that Mark is under the assumption that we were supposed to be paying the next payment on our Fit which they now have. Numerous calls back and forth between both Honda and Ben & Mark left me frustrated. FINALLY I get an email from Mark saying that the Fit has been finally paid off. No apologies for the inconvenience. It definitely has left a bad impression on us... More
VERY PLEASED with my purchase experience. I contacted many dealerships in my area and ended up driving over an hour away to purchase from OCEAN as this was the ONLY dealership that was willing to work wi many dealerships in my area and ended up driving over an hour away to purchase from OCEAN as this was the ONLY dealership that was willing to work with me on a car deal the way I needed. I have an extremely busy schedule and wanted to work a deal out (including a trade) online as much as possible so that I wouldn't have to waste time haggling at various dealerships. I gave each dealership my criteria for purchase, which was a 2.5i limited Outback SAP, my trade and ultimately, to all be under a certain payment. In addition, this would need to be worked out online ahead of time, so that basically when I got there, I only had to sign paperwork. Not only was Ocean Subaru the only dealership to do this, they did exactly as I asked the first time. There were many dealerships out there that didn't get it. I would tell them what I needed and would get the typical "I think that can happen. Why don't we set an appointment for you to come in and we'll see what we can do". Ocean didn't play that game. All in all, I'm extremely pleased and think everyone in the Boston area should avoid the dealerships there and just go to Ocean. Despite the drive, you'll save more time in the long run...On top of that, you'll get a better deal! Well done! More
Came here because this dealership had exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to test drive the car, though I wasn't sure if I would like it enough to buy it. As soon as we arrived, Laura greeted me and within 10 minutes, I was test driving the car - and loving it. Our negotiations stalled, but Michelle called me the next day and we settled on a (great!) number. They even beat the lowest finance rate I'd gotten on my own. Laura drove the paperwork to me an hour away, and I picked up my car a few days later. When Laura called to check in a few days later, I reported a strange rattle I'd been hearing. She had me book an appointment, and the Service Dept didn't stop until they figured out and resolved the problem, providing me a loaner for 1.5 weeks. It takes a lot to impress me, but believe me when I say I am VERY impressed. Ocean has a casual atmosphere, and everybody pays attention to you - no pushy behavior, no harassing calls, no irritating sales people. I've shopped for several cars in my lifetime - this has definitely been the most pleasurable experience. More

A few main points from our very positive experience with them: • They suggested that we take the car to our own mechanic (Good News garage in Cambridge MA) to check the car and promised to fix all and any problems which will be found before we decide whether to buy it or not - no fees! • They drove the car for us to Cambridge a day before the scheduled appointment - again with no charge. • Since our mechanic approved this car we decided to buy it. His only suggestion was to change the rear deferential fluid. Ocean Subaru did it immediately as promised. • Starting our first call they addressed and properly answered all our questions, especially those sensitive ones concerned with warranties, coverage and deductibles. • When we figured out that we cannot use the plates from our previous car which was totaled more than 2 weeks ago, they immediately offered two solutions: to take their dealership's car (for free) until we obtain the plates, or to drive our newly bought car with dealer's plates and return them once we get our own plates. Two things only would make us happier: if we would spend less time - the whole procedure on the day of purchase (completely stressless and positive) took us around 5 hours. In addition, we had little success negotiating the price, or getting lower APR for financing. However the initial price was already significantly lower than the KBB and market value. As for the APR - seems it wasn't under the financial manager’s control (the financing came from a bank). If you look for a stressless, respectful and knowledgeable place to buy a car - do consider Ocean Subaru! More
