I was interested in the new Forester hybrid which was not yet available. The sales person, Ann Italia kept me updated on arrival to the dealership and as soon as one became available I was able to arrange a yet available. The staff at McGovern Subaru in Portsmouth were stellar in their service to me as a customer. I brought in my old car (new to me by about 3 months or just over 4k miles) for work, and it turned out that it in their service to me as a customer. I brought in my old car (new to me by about 3 months or just over 4k miles) for work, and it turned out that it was sold to me with many major problems just under the surface. Not the minor issues that you can expect from a used car, but major ones, amounting to over $13k in parts and labor just to address the issues and pass inspection. Needless to say, I was left in a hard place with some tough decisions. (A shoutout to Anthony my service rep, he’s honest and good at breaking bad news). Anthony advised me that it would be better financially to purchase a new car then put so much money into the car that I had. So I took him up on it. (For record the last drive my car had was into the service bay, after that it stopped going into gear.) Anthony connected me with Rowan Heard, who was an amazing guy to deal with. We went through the process, first crunching the numbers and working out what I could afford and then what was available. I got a really clean 2019 outback wagon, Rowan was knowledgeable about the cars that he’s selling, and he’s antitheses of the stereotype of a car salesman. I felt no pressure from him and he got me set up. I would highly recommend him and his team at McGovern, they took care of me. More
