Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I wanted to address a few things before I get into the response. You mentioned that every other car you see in the area was purchased at Rte 2 Hyundai. I can assure you that we don't put all those cars on the road delivering experiences like the one you had. We have also been awarded DealerRater.com's Dealer of the Year award three consecutive years in a row. One of the contingencies for receiving the award is that you can't have a negative review within the last 12 months. This is our first negative review in almost three and a half years! Nobody delivers more vehicles and better purchase experiences like we do. It disappoints and frustrates me every time I read the review. When vehicles come in on trade, they come to us in all sorts of different conditions. Good, bad, or ugly, eventually they make it to the front line and they look good as new. I don't have a good explanation as to why you were shown this one particular car and not any of the others that were already reconditioned and serviced. That is a problem for me to handle and I thank you for bringing it to my attention. By the sounds of your experience we really didn't do a good job explaining the service and reconditioning process that comes with every pre-owned vehicle. We were not sensitive to your needs or respectful of your budget and I can assure you that's not part of our process. Sometimes sales people forget that we sell cars every day and our customers do it from as little to every 18 months to three years and that some of the things we can say can be taken out of context or we might not deliver the right message to our customers. It's easy for us to say things like "we will take care of it", "don't worry about it", or "we can touch it up" because cars come in and out every day and we know what the finished product can be like. By the sound of your experience we downplayed a lot of your concerns and were expecting your business and not focused on earning it. Again, out of character for our staff. Well before your review hit my inbox I had seen the rusting around the gas cap and I authorized the car to go to body shop. On no planet would touch up paint had remedied that. The car since then has been fixed, serviced, reconditioned, and sold. Why we didn't show you something that was already reconditioned and serviced? I don't know. I can't speak for the sales people involved but I can enforce a stricter process that we don't deliver any experiences like these again. This is a tough review to swallow. We delivered a terrible shopping experience. Although I am disappointed we lost your business I am glad that there was a dealership that was able to help you find a lightly used vehicle for your mother and wish her a wonderful ownership experience. If there is anything I can do to restore your confidence in our dealership I would really like the opportunity to be able to do so. Our dealership is family owned and is comprised of over 70 employees, all who live locally, that are dedicated to servicing the area at a high level of customer satisfaction. I take these reviews very seriously because I believe that customers who are looking for a dealership to do business with take them seriously as well. Our reputation has earned us a lot of repeat and referral business, and you can get a glimpse of how many cars that is just by driving up and down the street or in the parking lot of a shopping mall.
