Brought my 2015 Hyundai Sonata into McGovern on 5/28 for a standard recall. Had to wait over 2 hours, and when I inquired why, Ali- my rep. (Who I really liked) stated “he had good news + bad news” Good= my a standard recall. Had to wait over 2 hours, and when I inquired why, Ali- my rep. (Who I really liked) stated “he had good news + bad news” Good= my car looked great + bad =the Tech drove over something + punctured my tire. (I just purchased Brand New Goodyear tires on 5/22, paid $130 for Alignment/Balance fees etc to Firestone) Ali stated they would replace the tire + I would be given a rental for my trouble? I asked if they would do something to actually Help me (as my husb who norm does these things, has spine cancer + needs to undergo radiation/chemo on 6/12 for 7 weeks in Boston)I also had to drive him to MGH on 5/29 for a full day of testing. Ali asked what they can help with + I stated I was told (last month when I had oil changed by my mechanic) to have the oil gasket fixed + could they do it? Ali (+ his manager) said “yes if it wasn’t a major problem, like a Head Gasket.” Later Ali called + stated they’d prob cover $200, as they saw the leaky gasket. He then called me end of day + said his manager stated “he would only cover $100 + I could bring it to my mechanic + pay him, if I didn’t want McGovern to do it.” I was upset + said so, but he said thru were already helping me with a rental + new tire + i didn't want my car to be in the garage any longer so I agreed to pay the remainder (aft $100 off) He then stated I was getting a rental for no charge for 4 days while they did my gasket! After originally telling me “they'd need the extra days” (to order my tire + put it on etc) Taking a rental to Boston was Very Stressful!! Not knowing the vehicle well, not thinking to get our necessary items that were in my car! Like Handicap Placard, our phone charger etc was Horrible! Yes I should’ve remembered, but I was already very stressed about my husband, the gasket, + the new tire + would it match etc. I picked up my Hyundai on 5/31 + it was filthy! I take very good care of my vehicle + do understand the construction going on right now at McGovern, but in the past the car’s been cleaned when I had work done? This was unacceptable! Both inside + out were caked with thick dust! My son + I drove straight to a car wash + had to thoroughly wipe the inside down. All in all I am Very disappointed and will probably drive to another Hyundai dealer to have any further work done. This was supposed to be a simple recall…. More

The dealership ran diagnostics on my car because it was making noises. They found that the ball joints were worn and needed replacing.
