I went to York Ford on beautiful Route 1 in Saugus earlier this week to look at their inventory a Incompetent or dishonest? Does it matter? I went to York Ford on beautiful Route 1 in Saugus earlier this week to look at their inventory and made contact with a salesman. I returned yesterday to pick a car from their stock and after standing in the blistering heat in the lot for about 45 minutes, the salesman (who was with another customer) approached me about a black 2015 Fusion. I had informed him about previous disappointing experiences with Ford. We went inside and the usual parade back and forth to a nameless person began and the numbers game also began. Finally, the salesman and I agreed to a price. It was not the greatest....but it was OK. My trade was worth more than offered, based on Kelley Blue Book values, even using their lowest value (the car has high mileage). Finally, a woman named Cheryl, who is a financial services manager, presented me with a piece of paper with numbers on it, which I signed. After being at the dealership for about 4 hours in the heat, I was anxious to leave. Today, I noticed that Cheryl added the sales tax and registry fees to what I owed York! I made it clear from the beginning that this was a cash sale and I take my own paperwork to the RMV. I stopped payment on my check and canceled the purchase of the car. The salesman, in an e-mail, said it was a simple mistake and not dishonesty. Does it matter? Shop elsewhere. UPDATE: Mr. York's response is appreciated but I would like to point out that on Saturday morning I e-mailed the salesman and asked him for a corrected purchase order that he could easily have provided in a PDF file attached to an e-mail and he totally ignored my request. Why would I trek back to Saugus without having documentation to justify the trip? It seems simple to understand. So I'll buy elsewhere. There was a warning I should have heeded: As I walked into the showroom yesterday, I moved some cash from a shirt pocket to my pants pocket and a salesman said to me, "Give me your money!" as he lunged toward me and tried to grab it. Perhaps he thought this was funny....I don't. Ford....expect nothing and you won't be disappointed. More
Not overly happy. They need way more staff on floor. My salesman was god but trying to pick the vehicle up took way too long. I was so burnt out from spending my whole weekend visiting local dealerships, test driving, and dealing with salesman who wanted me to buy new top of the line vehicles with features that I didn't care for. My last stop that weekend was York Ford in Saugus Mass. I was greeted with a warm welcome from Jim Fauci who acknowledged me right away. He took the time to hear me out and answered all my questions. I was able to find the perfect vehicle that meets my everyday needs and is in my budget. I purchased a 2014 Ford Fusion SE that is by far the coolest car I ever had! The staff at York was so helpful during the whole buying process. Thank you Dave, Angel & Jim for such a wonderful experience and a fantastic car! I am a happy customer - still Smiling =) More
