Sign of the times I guess. Looked @ 2021 (used) Mach E Premium expanded range @ this dealership. They are close to my house, so thought a good match. Sales person like all sales people was friendly & patient handling my question on test drive. Trade value of my car was reasonable….so far so good. However, dealer is offering a used car with 4,000 miles & 31 months of warranty left for $7,500 over value of car as they already took the tax credit!! Ford even has a plan (I found out) to compensate this as an incentive to the dealer to the consumer. Dealer stated they were marking the car up & that was that was from the owners of dealership. So, what can I do, order a like configuration of the car for $5k under asking & get the $7,500 tax credit also! Of course, this order would be from one of 4 Ford dealerships within a 10 mile radius. Buyer beware!! York family owners….shame to you as you lost a customer. Will relate to friends & family in the New England area. More
4 weeks ago I brought my 2016 expedition in for service with some kind of a loud bearing noise. The front desk called me later and said it was because of the front left wheel bearing assembly which was bad with some kind of a loud bearing noise. The front desk called me later and said it was because of the front left wheel bearing assembly which was badly worn and needed to be replaced and that it would cost $1200. The next day the mechanic called me and said he replaced it, but it didn't fix the problem. He said it was likely the transfer case and explained that it was a common problem seen in expeditions with 80K miles and that I should consider trading it in since it would cost about $3K to change it. I picked up the car and brought it to a trusted transmission specialist who quickly determined that the transfer case was fine and that the noise was coming from the RIGHT side wheel bearing assembly. He quickly replaced it at a fraction of of the cost that York charged. When I called York to complain to the service manager Ryan Dodge, he said he would investigate and get back to me. He didn't. Instead, he had the mechanic call me back to explain this problem managed to escape him and 4 other mechanics to assessed it and they all determined it was the transfer case. So in other words, they are really bad mechanics. Just today I realized something was hanging from the bottom of my car and when I looked underneath, I saw that the PLASTIC WIRE TIES they used, to reinstall the under carriage cover had broken, causing the cover to hang down. I guess they lost the screws that were holding it in place and were not concerned about finding or replacing them. What a bunch of incompetent clowns. Stay away! More
