Ok First, McGee prices on the web were coming in way cheaper than everyone elses. Then I read the reviews and almost decided not to go. But the prices were so much better (for Toyota Corollas) that I cheaper than everyone elses. Then I read the reviews and almost decided not to go. But the prices were so much better (for Toyota Corollas) that I decided I had to give them a try, but would be on my toes. In the end I had a good experience and just got home tonight with a great car at a fantastic price. BUT, there are a few keys you need to know before going there: 1) The prices listed are their Dealer Invoice Prices, NOT the sales price. They are looking for a price about $1.0k higher (to cover their costs + provide a profit); I offered this and the salesperson gave me no push back. 2) Request a CarFax (they'll give you an AutoCheck report but it's still helpful) 3) Know that there will be extra costs. Mandatory sales tax, inspection fees and documentation fees cost me $1.0k on a $13k purchase. 4) READ the terms of the financing agreement before you sign it. This where the car's total price (including extra costs/fees) will be shown, and it will show your down payment, and the applicable interest rate you qualified for. Make sure all these numbers are the ones you discussed (a previous comment said he signed something different than what he agreed to and ended up paying more than he could afford). 5) Consider arranging your own financing ahead of time, or be prepared to refinance. Dispite having a great credit score, my wife and I got Toyota Motor Corp's highest rate - 6.5%. When I calld my insurance company to get coverage, they told me I am pre-approved for 5.25%. So needless to say as soon as the loan hits the books of Toyota I will be re-financing. I hope this is helpful; please e-mail me at jca24@cornell.edu if you have any more questions or to let me know how your experience was. More
I don't know where to start. Called about a 2008 Hyundai Elantra priced at $9,365 with 4,187 miles on it. Got there, test drove the car, liked it, wanted to buy it. Came back next day with the trade in we d Elantra priced at $9,365 with 4,187 miles on it. Got there, test drove the car, liked it, wanted to buy it. Came back next day with the trade in we discussed. I was told they sold the car. I asked how was this possible since we agreed on my coming back with the trade in. I got a sorry and asked if I wanted to see another car. I was very suspicious. I left and called on the phone to see if the Hyundai was available. I was told it was sold. Two days later it is listed again except this time for $11,201. I proceeded to go down there to see what was the deal. They said the car was available with no explanation as to the "sold" answer I got earlier. I was still interested and they proceeded to tell me the car was now going for $13,885. I've never seen anything like it. When I told them I was no longer interested, the sales person actually got mad at ME!!! and walked away. I read the reviews on McGee before going there and they were all bad but I was still stupid enough to take the chance. It seemed like a good deal. Don't make the same mistake I did. There is not one good review about this dealership. I mean all dealerships really aren't on the up and up but this one takes it to a new level. Too many other dealers to do business with. Don't waste your time. More
We are currently involving a lawyer to mediate our ridiculous situation with McGee. Never shop here. They don't care about the customer. All they want is your money and they don't mind if that means t ridiculous situation with McGee. Never shop here. They don't care about the customer. All they want is your money and they don't mind if that means they have to lie and threaten. I've never had such a horrible experience in my lie, nor been taken advantage of. They don't abide by their own contracts and NEVER EVER trust what they say in a verbal agreement More
I was looking for a new Toyota Prius when I contacted McGee toyota. Initially, the dealer was friendly enough and responded to my requests for quotes and other information (though I got all details about McGee toyota. Initially, the dealer was friendly enough and responded to my requests for quotes and other information (though I got all details about "additional" fees only after repeated requests). Since I had quotes which were atleast $2000 lesser from other dealers, I asked if he could provide something comparable (FYI, the quote I got here was almost sticker price). At that point, he got downright rude, and responded in an email that he is in this business to make money and would not sell for a penny lesser than the initial quote. Well atleast, frankness was one of their strong points!!! Look to other dealers if you're getting a new car- avoid McGee Toyota!! More
