Every time I go in for service, the clowns in service try to add something I didn't ask for on my bill. Last time I was in the service writer insisted I needed a 4 wheel alignment on my Prius. Of course, to add something I didn't ask for on my bill. Last time I was in the service writer insisted I needed a 4 wheel alignment on my Prius. Of course, this is not possible on a car with a solid rear axle. When I asked how they planned to align the rear wheels on a solid axle, the idiot just looked at me. More
I recently bought a 2010 Camry at McGee Toyota. This was during the recall and I was very hesitant to buy at this time, but it was the car I had wanted from the beginning so I figured I would at least go in during the recall and I was very hesitant to buy at this time, but it was the car I had wanted from the beginning so I figured I would at least go in and find out what the deal was with everything. Being 8 months pregnant I wanted a safe car for my baby so I had my guard up about hearing the typical car salesman pitch. When I walked in I was pleasantly greeted by Ryan and I was relieved that he was so down to earth and not like what I expected at all. He explained the recall on the pedal, and answered every single one of my questions without rushing me at all. I had gone to Copeland earlier in the week and when I explained to them that I may not buy that day they rushed me, gave me quick unclear answers and pushed me out the door. Ryan pleasantly suprised me and was upfront with the price, and Max reassured me that this was a safe car and a great deal and even took the time to answer a few questions that I had thought of after I talked to Ryan. Scott made the finance process very easy to understand and got the seal of approval from my husband who is much better at the financial stuff than I am. While I was waiting for the car to be brought out, Patrice made sure I was taken care of and made me feel like I was at home. Needless to say I had a great experience, I would recommend McGee to anyone, and there is not a doubt in my mind that I am driving a safe reliable car. And I LOVE my new car! More
I had an awsome experiance with the sales rep myles. I recently purchased a camry and it couldnt have been a smoother process. I did a lot of research online and when I came in i had already spoken to the recently purchased a camry and it couldnt have been a smoother process. I did a lot of research online and when I came in i had already spoken to the internet manager josh, who was also very polite, and had a price on an LE model. after i drove the car and sat down it was brought to my attention that the price had included all the rebates from toyota and that was how toyota did there advertising. I was a little uneasy but myles showed me all the printouts I had from the other dealers also in there fine print had advertised the same way. so even though i had to pay more the price at mcgee was still far less then anyone else. Even then I was shown the invoice and knew that I had recived an awesome deal and was happy. I next sat down with the business manager who I cant remember his name but was very short and jumping with excitment causing everyone to laugh (at his absurdity). This was also a plesant expreiance because he got me an extreamly low rate. Anyways when I got out my new car was cleaned and I got to take it home that day! I would recommned Myles to anyone. More

I wanted to take a moment to write about the exceptional customer service I received while shopping for a car at this dealership. The entire car buying processes for me took a couple of weeks, and I remembe customer service I received while shopping for a car at this dealership. The entire car buying processes for me took a couple of weeks, and I remember walking into McGee Toyota that first day with my dad with my guard up. I expected inflated prices, belligerent salespeople… all the stereotypes associated with a car dealership. I have never heard of ‘negotiating up’ a price before being introduced to McGee Toyota. Meaning – once you know the true dealer cost, you make them a reasonable offer and you go from there. And having been explained that style, I will never go back to a Boch Toyota or any other dealership that gauge and inflate their prices only to go down a bit while still making a huge profit. I believe McGee's method of listing their cost is the fairest and most efficient way of buying a car – now that I know about it I would not be surprised if in the long run, that would become standard throughout the industry. I was extremely fortunate to be greeted by Jose Freitas that first day. I had setup an appointment with him after finding the 2008 Toyota Rav4 I wanted on www.cars.com and remember him walking out the dealership in his black north face fleece – I remember that vividly because no matter how cold it was outside, he had left his coat inside but wouldn’t go get it until he showed us what he wanted around the lot – he was really a trooper. Jose’s customer service was second to none. I have worked for companies such as Nordstrom which were among the top rated in customer service nationwide, and I can truly say that they have an invaluable asset working for them. He was so professional, knowledgeable, passionate and helpful. It is so rare to meet someone that will work so hard for you so that when the customer leaves, both the customer and the company are happy. Jose went above and beyond what someone in his position was supposed to do. For what he does and how he makes people around him feel, I would hope that Jose Freitas gets noticed, recognized and rewarded. My experience at McGee was so good that I will refer anyone I know looking for a car to them – new or used. The pricing model, the customer service, and the selection were simply impressive. This experience solidified my devotion to your dealership. I am now the proud owner of a 2008 Toyota Rav4. Jose helped me find exactly what I wanted. By the way – my dad just started a new job which he has to commute about 2 hours to get to. His Toyota Camry is racking up the miles and he needs a new company car soon… you don’t even have to guess where he’ll be going to find a new car and who will be helping him find one. More
My wife and I were in Massachusetts visiting her mother and on December 23 the three of us spent a large part of the day looking at cars, visiting a Honda dealership, a Subaru dealership and McGee Toyota. and on December 23 the three of us spent a large part of the day looking at cars, visiting a Honda dealership, a Subaru dealership and McGee Toyota. We visited McGee Toyota during the afternoon, and worked with Bob Maguire, a Toyota Sales Associate. After several test drives my wife's mother decided she liked the 2010 Camry LE. The salesman asked about the car we were planning on trading in (we were in another car), and we provided that information. We were getting ready to leave and Bob asked us to wait a minute so he could talk to the manager on duty. We did, and after a few minutes, Bob came out and asked if we’d buy the car right then for $16,000 plus the trade. My wife went in to talk to the manager (whose name we cannot recall), explained that this had been a lot for her mother to take in during one day, and asked if we could think about it for a day, and would that price be good tomorrow (December 24). He said yes, and we left. That night the only question was which color. We went to the McGee website, looked at the color choices on the lot, and I then called Bob and asked if he would be in the next morning. He said yes, and I told him that we wanted to pick out a color from three choices. He said he would have them ready for us to look at so she could make her decision. We got to the dealership at about 10:00 a.m. Bob showed us the different cars, and my wife's mother took a final test drive. During this time, I explained to Bob that we would be paying cash – I had been by the bank branch down the street and had arranged to obtain a bank check once we knew exact amount and the exact payee name, and I told Bob that I would just drive to the bank and back at that point. We returned to Bob’s desk, where he explained all of the charges (sales tax, document fee, etc.) that would be added to the “final” price. Bob checked the mileage on the trade in, noted that the actual mileage was less than we had estimated the day before (“that’s good” he said(. He also said that there was a different manager in today – who wasn’t as “aggressive” as the one who gave us the $16,000 price. We explained that the reason we were there was because of the manager’s price. He went off for a moment, and came back with a price of $17,500. As you might guess, we were stunned, and expressed our shock. We suggested that Bob contact the manager who was present the day before. Instead, he went to get his manager, who came and introduced himself as Scott Ames. Scott asked if we had put down a deposit the day before – which we had not, having not been asked for one and having been personally assured that the price would be good the next day. He said he wouldn’t honor the other manager’s price. We stated that we were ready to buy at the price we were promised, but otherwise were leaving – and we left. These people cannot be trusted. More
My mother and I just had the worst experience and worst day due to McGee Toyota. I honestly could sit here and write paragraphs on how disgusted I am with "those people", the managers, the employees and the day due to McGee Toyota. I honestly could sit here and write paragraphs on how disgusted I am with "those people", the managers, the employees and the service department but its not worth my time. I am severely pissed off with them and would advertise for people not to bring them business...the perfessionalism was horrific there actually wasnt any...they were just down right rude and absolutley ignorant by far. I truly hope that people come on and see how bad this dealership is. I dont even think I have the vocabulary to explain how upset and extremely aggravated and sick I am that people can get away with being such xxxx BAGS! More
My spouse and I drove for over an hour to this dealership to explore using our Capital One Blank Check loan. We disclosed that fact well in advance of the appointment we made for the next evening. Upon arriv to explore using our Capital One Blank Check loan. We disclosed that fact well in advance of the appointment we made for the next evening. Upon arriving they were rather cordial and quick to get us into the sales office to cut a deal. They evaluated our trade. We negotiated a price and were not able to make the deal we wanted to make using our Capital One Blank Check because the finance manager, Mr. Scott Ames, explained to us that their dealership did not trust Capital One to make good on the deal. He said they would actually look for a reason not to honor the check. I found that to be odd coming from a dealership that is a Capital One approved dealership. My wife and I were going to leave at that point and Mr. Ames explained that he felt he could get us a better rate through Toyota Financial Services. We were not wanting to have any more hits on our credit report due to the fact that we are trying to purchase a home. The entire adventure with driving to McGee Toyota was to use our Capital One Blank Check which was sent to us because we are a good customer with our other vehicle loan through them. Mr. Ames pushed the issue and sent us home with a Toyota Financial Services application. He assured us both that he would not send our credit application to anyone else and we should not be concerned about that fact. He even stated that he did not even want to send it to anyone else, and that he had absolutely no reason to send it to another financial institution. He wanted us to fill it out and send it to him the next day. We drove the hour plus trip back home. We discussed the matter, and decided that if he was SO SURE that he could work magic with his Toyota Financial Services contact, that we would allow him to submit our application. The next morning, I faxed the application to him. I called to verify receipt of the application and to reiterate the fact that we did not want it going to any other institution. He agreed and said he would call me back at the end of the day. He called and stated that the person he needed to talk to was not available and would not be until Saturday of that weekend. I understood and waited for the call. I never got a call. I called him and he stated that he was shocked that the salesman had not called me to deliver the news. They could not beat my Capital One Blank Check interest rate with Toyota. He assured me that he had tried very hard and that it just could not be done. My wife and I were not happy with the turn of events, but had determined to accept the matter at face value. UNTIL.....A few weeks later I received a credit denial letter from JPMORGAN Chase Bank for a creit application submitted from none other than MCGEE TOYOTA. I never agreed to have this dealership run my credit application through ANY other financial institution. I was lied to by the dealership and am now afraid that the damage this careless and inconsiderate act could do to my credit score will be far reaching and long lasting. I called the dealership to discuss the matter with Mr. Ames. He instructed me that once my signed credit application was sent back in to him, that they could do whatever they wanted to with it. They could send it to whomever they wanted to and I could not do anything about it at all. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! This dealership could not be trusted with my personal information and did not keep their word to me. They also did not honor the terms written on the face of the Toyota Financial Services Credit Application which states that it will be sent to TFS at 100 Apollo Dr., #201, Chelmsford,MA 01824. That is all I agreed to and I now have a credit denial letter form a different bank to prove that it was sent elsewhere. I fear I will now begin to get a string of credit letters and hard hits to my credit score. I am going to obtain legal counsel to seek recourse in this matter. I do not know a lot, and I am surely not an attorney, but I do know that what happened to me was wreckless and the dealership is a wreckless dealership if they will do this to an honest potential customer and then tell them there is nothing that they can do about it then there is no honor or integrity in that dealership at all. We will see. I am far from done with this matter. This angers me greatly and should scare the daylights out of potential car purchasers everywhere. I intend to share my personal story about my dealings with them with everyone I meet. I want the word to get out about this. It is not right and they should not be allowed to do business in this economy if they are going to ignore the wishes of the customer and do whatever they feel is needed to make a sale, regardless of how it impacts your credit rating. I am glad we were NOT able to finalize a deal with them. I would have been tied to them for the life of the car. That, in hind sight is a scary thought. In my mind....Customer Service is much more than lying to a person about what you are going to do to their financial future. Friendliness is much more than pushing a person to let you run their credit only with Toyota Financial Service and then doing the very opposite of that promise and ignoring the print on the very application. Overall Experience is not good at all when you look at the weight of this story. I cannot believe this happened. This is truly a horrible thing to have done to you in these economical times when your credit score can absolutely make or break you. More
