We encountered a problem (dealership charged us 4,600 over the stated KBB price) and were promised all kinds of solutions until we actually got to the dealership to sort it out. Jamie made promises over over the stated KBB price) and were promised all kinds of solutions until we actually got to the dealership to sort it out. Jamie made promises over the phone on one day and the next day when we went to the dealership based on his promises, he completely denied that he had ever promised anything over the phone. It was a full 2 hours of fighting with him. He refused to let us speak with the owner, who was walking around the showroom right outside the office we were in. The only way to resolve it was for us to exchange for a new car--way more than we wanted to pay, but at least we were paying for what the car was worth instead of being "tipped". It was a horrible experience. RUN don't walk away from this dealership and all 4 of its franchises!!!!! More
I had Tim as my salesperson, he was friendly and straight forward. He helped me get a RAV4 in my price range with low mileage. The financing guy also beat my percentage rate I had from an outside bank. Overa forward. He helped me get a RAV4 in my price range with low mileage. We have used McGee Toyota for our past 4 cars and have been very satisfied. Steve Hines was our salesperson and he was great. We will continue to go to McGee. been very satisfied. Steve Hines was our salesperson and he was great. We will continue to go to McGee. More
Our salesperson, Ahmed, was excellent. He quickly showed us and let us drive as many cars as we wanted (which was a lot) and even showed us others that he thought might interest us. us and let us drive as many cars as we wanted (which was a lot) and even showed us others that he thought might interest us. Tim was great as a sales rep, he knew the car and what the best option available was. He worked with us on the price of the car, and the price of the trade in, and is helping to arrange follow up service. the best option available was. I hate the whole process of buying a car, the haggling, the shady dealers, the hassle, all of it. I don't know why people expect it to be like buying a pair of jeans at Nordstroms, face it, no matter what, the shady dealers, the hassle, all of it. I don't know why people expect it to be like buying a pair of jeans at Nordstroms, face it, no matter what, they want to make money. With that said, I've never heard of great experiences at dealers, the reviews are always mixed but its really the individual salesman that can make a huge difference. My personal sales consultant was Tim Mayo, he was awesome! He was so nice and very personable I didn't feel pressured or annoyed. I first went to see Tim a few weeks ago when I was just feeling stuff out, this was the first time buying my own car so I was hesitant. He understood and I kept McGee in mind. After traveling to other dealerships with very high prices and even worse salesmen, I returned to McGee this past Saturday and Tim was there, luckily we made a deal and I am now an owner of a Toyota Corolla which I love, I have had a positive experience thus far. I would give them a try and look for Tim Mayo! More
I really enjoyed my buying experiance at McGee in Hamover. Ahmed and Tim were very helpful and the man who did my finance (forget his name) was really great too! Ahmed was great. He had an honest answer (not what I wanted to hear) to every question I had and when we were waiting for the finance guys to do their thing, he was great to hang out with. I went a lit wanted to hear) to every question I had and when we were waiting for the finance guys to do their thing, he was great to hang out with. I went a little above what I wanted to spend, but I really liked this guy, he treated me with respect and courtesy. I am not saying I that is why I bought a car from him, but he certainly made it easier. Oh yeah, I did get a pretty good deal. I have purchased quite a few cars and I know a good deal when I find one. These guys get a bad wrap b/c the knuckleheads down the street have the same name, but they were honest and professional at every phase. More
DON'T BUY A CAR HERE! I saw a car online advertised as "certified". When I got to the dealership it was listed as $2000 more and Tim, the salesman, said the certification was an option and was n "certified". When I got to the dealership it was listed as $2000 more and Tim, the salesman, said the certification was an option and was not included in the price. We agreed on a price and I chose NOT to certfify it. However when filling out the paperwork, with Sam, they added a 1300 service warranty fee. Nobody explained that this fee was added. What's worse is that the car is fairly new and I doubt i will be needed the expensive protection. My advice, shop around. I'm sure you can expect to haggle a price anywhere, but you should not expect to have expensive fees added to contracts AFTER a price has been agreed upon. If you do decide to go to Hanover Toyota, don't see Tim Mayo in sales or Sam in finance, unless you have an extra few thousand to spare. More
My initial experience with Tim and Sam was great - quick, friendly service! It was a pleasure dealing with Tim and Sam. They put a lot of effort into working with me and helping me get the financing I need friendly service! It was a pleasure dealing with Tim and Sam. They put a lot of effort into working with me and helping me get the financing I needed to purchase without a co-signer which is really going to help my credit. Unfortunately, my next experience with McGee was appalling. Things changed very quickly after I signed the initial paperwork. I went back 4 days later (2 days ago) so they could do the inspection, which I now find out they're NOT supposed to do. I got stopped by a Statie this morning for not coming to a full stop and he said he was also going to write me up because my tires were no good. I showed him the inspection paperwork from TWO days ago and he let me go. I went straight to McGee's and when I told the manager went happened, he LITERALLY rolled his eyes at me and said 'pfffft', like I was lying. They had someone from their department come out and measure the tires and they said they 'passed inspection.' Then the manager said to me - and I quote: "Either the cop was an xxxxxxx or more likely, as we both know, that never happened." Calling me a liar to my face! He said I was only there because there were brand new front tires and I wanted brand new tires for the back. I lost my temper with him because of how unbelievably rude and sarcastic he was with me from the time I entered the showroom. I went to two different tire places - BOTH of my back tires are 3/32 - one 32nd away from failing inspection. This is a 2010 car with with 35k on it. You know, so many people warned me not to go to them - I should have listened. I wish I had gotten that manager's name, but JUST IN CASE MCGEE ACTUALLY READS THIS - he's short, stocky, sandy hair and green eyes, working 6/27 at 2PM. And another thing, when I asked him about the lemon law, he said it doesn't apply and once I drive it off the lot, I own it. So I'm basically stuck and will have to buy new tires! If I had been lying about the incident with the Statie just because I wanted new tires, wouldn't I have brought up the issue about the tires just one week ago? I'm a single woman who bought the car on my own and didn't realize the tires were as bad as they are. Yes, maybe I should have been able to spot that - but what it makes me feel now is: What else in this car passed inspection by a 32nd of an inch? It's wrong that I should have to buy new tires. In addition, the back tires aren't even the same brand as the front, which are Good Years - which tells me they switched the back tires before giving it to me. I have called Corporate in CA and we'll see what happens. It wasn't so much the tires today as it was the total sarcastic, unprofessional and condescending attitude of this so-called manager. More
