Jessie, directed me to Tom Carlson and said he would be able to help me - well that was an understatement! Tom was perfect - not a pushy car salesman, he listened to want my needs were and did his best to meet them. My daughter, who is very untrusting said after meeting Tom that she would absolutely buy her next car through Tom. ( She already has a Toyota ForeRunner that was purchased at Hurlbert's). I was also in need of some twesking with finances and I was introduced to Matt, the finance mgr. -- he ws unbelievable. I never thought anyone would work so hard on my behalf. The loan and car I chose is finally sitting in my driveway! Thank you, Jessie, Tom, Matt and Hurlbert Toyota for making my dream come true...I am forever a loyal customer. M. Anita Rozzi More
Hopefully, my experience is unusual, but you may want to be prepared if you are considering visiting Hurlburt Toyota to buy a car. First, do your research before you go. You may not have an associate escort you on your test drive to let you know any of the features of the car you are considering. Do your research on the price also, because they use misleading pricing on the sticker. Don’t expect to get any follow up calls. If you need any information, you will need to chase after both your salesperson and the finance manager. If you like old-fashioned haggling over the price, you will love this dealership. Plan on hours in the chair as you wait for an answer from the “manager.” Be prepared to pay some of the highest dealer fees in the area ($372). This is said to cover gas, detailing, and other expenses but don’t expect either to be taken care of when you pick up your car. Again, I hope your experience is not like mine, but after you hand over your savings, be prepared to witness some of the worst and unprofessional service I have ever known. When you go to pick up your car, don’t expect your salesperson to know who you are or why you are there. AND, be sure you have the cash to fill your tank on the way home. You may also expect paperwork that is incorrect and incomplete, and if you do call to speak to someone, don’t expect a return call, especially if you ask to speak to a manager. Lastly, be prepared when you go to register your new car. They won’t tell you that you need paperwork that you won’t get until after your temporary plate expires (even when you have communicated consistently what the deadlines are). If you buy a car from Hurlbert, your story may be different, but if you deal with John Kosar, Matt Luedtke, Jason Kosar, or Ara Kostandin, be prepared. More
Dave had been looking for the right vehicle for us for a while. After waiting a couple of days for my Liars!!!! They will not honor a deal once it is made. I had a deal worked out with the sales and finance dept. After waiting a couple of days for my final payoff on my exhisting loan, I called to make an appointment to pick up a new truck. After calling several times, they finally told me the salesperson had the day off. I asked to speek with another person in sales, or a sales manager, they put me through to a salesperson and he told me the deal had been canceled. I asked why, he had no Idea. I asked to speak with the store manager, however I ended up with the finance manager. I than called back several times a day for several days, wanting to talk with Jeff Hurlbert, however he never returned my call. I than called the Toyota regional office. The regional manager refered me to several other dealerships. If you are going to buy a new Toyota, I would strongly recommend the short drive to Saco Maine. "Prime Toyota. They are a real honest, friendly, personal dealership. More
Do NOT ever leave any valuables in your vehicle, while it is being serviced at this dealership. In fact, in this day and age, that's probably good advice whenever someone else has access to your vehicle. is being serviced at this dealership. We did not purchase our vehicle here because of the terrible Sales Staff, and now we know not to go here for any Service, either. More
I'll be honest, I was very skeptical about going to this dealership. I have had a great mechanic for years but he retired.
