Shady Bait and Switch Tactics; DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALER! Do not get involved with these scam artists. Michael Norwood, Client Care Manager, confirmed the availability of a specific VIN for me. Informed Michael I would be traveling more than 1.5 hours to the dealership. Asked if I could put down a deposit to make sure the vehicle would still be there when I arrived. He told me it is against their policy. After several hours of working through the details of the sale, I told Michael I would be leaving my house with the intent to purchase the vehicle. He asked me to give him a call from the road. Called Michael to confirm my departure. He called me back during the drive to tell me someone was currently looking at the vehicle and it appeared as if they were going to buy it. He added several superfluous, fabricated details. I told Michael I would continue driving to the dealership in the off-chance they decided not to purchase. Later received a call from Michael confirming the other party was purchasing the vehicle, which was the only one in stock with the exact specs. Wasted an entire day working on the potential purchase and driving to the dealership and the process left me deflated and disappointed. Of course, Michael was trying to sell me on other similar vehicles in stock. I was not interested. The next day the vehicle VIN was still showing up as available on their website. I asked if anything fell through with the sale and was told the car was gone but their website takes 48 hours to update. FIVE DAYS LATER, the exact same VIN was STILL showing as available on their website. We submitted a new pricing request in my husband’s name. Now the fun begins! Again, Michael Norwood followed up on the price request. He reached out to my husband and confirmed the VIN was available for purchase (bait tactic). This is the same exact vehicle/VIN I was told already sold days earlier. My husband asked how many days this vehicle had been on the lot. Michael said it had been there seven days. However, I was told five days prior someone already bought this exact vehicle/VIN. The same scam unfolded. My husband told Michael he would be driving in from a distance to purchase the vehicle and would be leaving within five minutes. Michael said he would locate the keys and call my husband right back. When Michael called back, my husband was told someone was there looking at that same vehicle and they were likely going to purchase it. That is when Michael started trying to sell him on other colors/options (switch tactic) despite my husband confirming earlier he was only interested in the specific color/trim he had originally inquired about. This dealership is extremely dishonest. I contacted GM Michael Boccanfuso to address my issue/concerns but he refused to call me back or answer my emails. Pathetic! You have been warned. Do not trust this dealer! More

Finally, after threatening to leave, the GM swooped in saying it was all a misunderstanding. Either that's true, and no one knows what's going on there, or it was an attempt to take advantage of a rookie. Shame, shame. More
Everything everyone hates in car dealers Last week I received a letter from McGee Toyota of Dudley General Manager Mikey Buccanfuso saying they are looking for cars for their pre-owned stock Last week I received a letter from McGee Toyota of Dudley General Manager Mikey Buccanfuso saying they are looking for cars for their pre-owned stock and looking to buy 2009 Corollas, "even if you don't buy one from me" the Manager claimed in his letter. I called last week and again this morning and confirmed that they were interested in buying my car even if I didn't want to buy from them. I spoke to two different salesmen on the phone and reiterated that I did not want to buy a Toyota but was interested in selling mine, and did not want to waste my time if they weren't honestly interested in buying it. "No that's fine, just bring it in and we'll take a look." I confirmed with two different salesmen that I could come in Monday morning for this "look." The salesmen I spoke with this morning wouldn't even give me an appraisal, just kept "explaining" that it works differently when I'm buying a car from them. I told him I understand completely, and I'm only here because of the letter and two phone conversations saying you were interested in my car. If you're not, that's fine, I'll be on my way. He then showed me texts he was exchanging with the manager. The salesman told the manager I "just showed up" (I called twice!) and the manager told the salesman "Tell her we're not a buyer." (Tell that to the letter you sent me and the people I spoke to on the phone...) and then "Cut the neck." I don't even know what that means but that was it for me. I told the "salesman" that I wanted my keys back and walked out the door. I understand that my 10 year old Corolla doesn't look like it's brand new. And I know I fell for the car salesman trick of "anything to get you in the door and then twist your arm to get you to buy." And I was prepared for them to try to sell me a car. But what I wasn't prepared for was the complete rudeness and the attitude like I walked in a demanded something unreasonable. I was completely honest and upfront in all of my dealings with them, and I didn't appreciate the attitude I received. Not to mention seeing text messages from the manager that were rude and then threatening. More

Two days later the "Manager" calls me, says if we still want the car "she" will get the deal done for the original AGREED to terms, no problem (BAIT). I called back 20 minutes later only to be told car was being "sold," then other cars were offered (SWITCH). I then called Toyota corporate to inform them of the practice. They called the dealership. The dealership told Toyota the car was in fact sold. I then asked what more evidence do they need to prove the "bait and switch" practice, but Toyota was only trying to get me to buy a different car at a different dealership. -SAD. More
