A few weeks ago, my family purchased a car from McGee Superstore in Norwell. Although the sales rep. we worked with was very nice, we have had a number of problems since purchasing, all of which have bee Superstore in Norwell. Although the sales rep. we worked with was very nice, we have had a number of problems since purchasing, all of which have been difficult to resolve with the unhelpful service department. The first problem we encountered was that we were not given a second key to the car. We had to call multiple times before someone finally helped us and made another key for us (we were told that originally that we would need to pay for it, but ended up not having to after explaingint to them (many times) that it is standard for cars to come with a spare key) Our second problem was dealt with today (sort of...) Since purchasing the car we noticed that the car was giving a low tire pressure reading. After replacing the two missing valve covers (not there when the car was purchased) and filling the tire with air, we brought it in today to be serviced and have the tire looked at. The tire had been leaking since we purchased the car. Upon bringing the car to McGee, I was instantly spoken to rudely by the person we worked with (I want to say Mike). As I was explaining to him the problem we were experiencing (and why it had been a few weeks before bringing it in) I was cut off and bluntly told that I would have to pay $15 for it. I was not given a chance to explain anything more to him. He then walked away. After waiting for almost an hour (when I was told it would be about 15 minutes) I was told that there was nothing wrong with the tires, and it was the tire pressure reader with in the car that needed repair (and that it needed to be serviced by a Chevy dealership). Well, after bringing it to the Chevy store, we were quickly told that there WAS a nail in the tire, and it needed to be plugged. When we called McGee to explain that this was their mistake in first of all selling a car with a nail in the tire, and secondly missing the nail when we brought it in, the sales manager hung up the phone on us. **We have also already had the issue of paint chipping up in a few spots, and again, we have had this car for less than a month (and of course had to shell out the $15 for the touch up paint on our own) I would NOT recommend purchasing a car here, as we have had multiple problems in just a few short weeks, and when we present these problems to McGee they are not resolved. I have never been treated so rudely or disrespectfully anywhere. I only wish I had read these reviews before deciding to do business with them (it seems many people have had the same issues with rudeness, unhelpfulness, and even several people indicating being hung up on while expressing frustrations on the phone. and I agree with many other people that it seems people write their own reviews) More

I Traded my 2005 Car for a 2007 Kia Sportage with 30,000 miles the salesman added the Finance fee then subtracted it to make out I was getting a great deal when in fact I was giving up my car plus paying fo miles the salesman added the Finance fee then subtracted it to make out I was getting a great deal when in fact I was giving up my car plus paying for a new car which already had miles on it so it was a double rip-off for me. They also guaranteed me that they would change my oil when it was due but they reneged on that also. Fred George More

Kristen Dunn made sure the trade-in and transaction went smoothly. On the night I was scheduled to sign-over my trade-in, she arranged for Charles Lopes to stay after hours if need be as I was not sure I smoothly. On the night I was scheduled to sign-over my trade-in, she arranged for Charles Lopes to stay after hours if need be as I was not sure I could get there by closing time. When Charles took my car in trade, I asked him if someone in the garage could remove an accessory from it that I had been unable to remove. When I later returned to pick-up my gently used, new-to-me Honda, Kristen handed me the keys along with the accessory that the shop staff kindly unbolted. My Honda was registered, inspected and ready to go. As an aside, I had purchased my previous vehicle at McGee Pre-Owned nine years prior. Everyone was helpful then. When I finally was ready to trade it in, I found many faces had changed, but the experience was still great. More
This dealership is the reason why car salesman get bad name. It's no secret that some salesman write their on reviews to drive traffic(I prob would too). With that said i wanted to give a customer revie name. It's no secret that some salesman write their on reviews to drive traffic(I prob would too). With that said i wanted to give a customer review. I saw a Toyota online that I liked and it was competitive with other dealership prices. My wife emailed them to verify the price and availability of the vehicle and was assured it was indeed still available. We went to the dealership the next morning and asked for Bill. Another salesman wanted to know which vehicle we were interested in and if we had a trade etc. I told him we had already began talking with Bill online but he insisted on knowing the info so that he could "give Bill all the info he needs". We did have a trade a 2003 Chevy Cavalier. After working with this gentleman for about 30 minutes we finally insisted on Bill . He was called and met with us. Before we even began Bill let us know that all online prices were final and absolute. We appreciated the honesty. But that's where it ended. After we had seen the Toyota and wanted to drive it we sat with Bill. He started with "what are you looking for your payments to be". I kindly stated I had bought 5 new vehicles in my life, and that my brother in law worked at a dealer for 10 years and I wasn't interested in the numbers game. I told him what my wifes credit score was(high 680's), the trade value we were already offered from another dealer, and that I wanted my term to be 60 months, no more). I also informed him we had already done the math and been to another dealership and have a good ballpark of mothly numbers. He immediately stated that the trade amount sounded high. So I pulled out not only the KB Blue book printout, but NADA printout stating that the price was actually a little below what was listed. He was surprised and said "Oh, I see you've done your homework".. So he leaves and comes back with an offer in which the monthly payments are about $60 per month higher than where they should be. I ask what he gave for a trade and finance rate and he states a trade offer that is $600 below my other offer and 750 below NADA. He claims that is really the best he can do. Then I ask what the interest rate is and he says 6.9%. My jaw dropped. We were offered 4.9% and our local credit union 3.25% ( I realize dealerships are a little higher but 6.9 !!) I point this out and say no way. He starts with the sob story about business need to keep the lights on etc. Again typical old fashion car salesman speech. I say ok and sorry we couldn't make a deal and of course came the wait wait. He leaves and comes back with a 250 increase in trade and a new rate of 5.9%. I simply state that he is still too low on the trade and that I wasn't paying a 5.9% rate. He then finally "convinced hi boss to come up another $250 on my trade" (still $100 below the other dealerships offer). I say fine I will make this deal happen to day if you allow me to get my own finnacing then since I know I can get 3.25%. He states there is "No way his boss will do it" I say ok fine then come down to the same 4.9% that the other dealership gave us and we'll have a deal. After leaving me sitting for 45 minutes he comes back and says sorry we just can't strike a deal. I say ok and we get up and leave. before we even got home Bill called us on our cell. I didn't answer, had enough. Then the next day he called again and left a message, but again at that point I had moved on. When will these dealerships realize that there are now educated buyers who don't appreciate their tactics. Trying to call us the next day doesn't make up for it any longer in this economy. Anyhow we ended up going Bournes Auto in Easton and bought a hyundai Sonata and thus far have had no issues. (No thats not a plug for them just stating facts). Watch out for the games if you shop at MCGee!! More
I wanted to purchase a used Rav 4 for my daughter, but she was fussy on the color. I was fussy on the price. Thanks to Kristen and Charlie's brainstorming we were able to put a deal together. However, hol she was fussy on the color. I was fussy on the price. Thanks to Kristen and Charlie's brainstorming we were able to put a deal together. However, hold on we forgot she needed Fog Lights because she lives way up in Maine on a mountain. Kristen and Charlie worked this out for us, their care and concern was outstanding, and my daughter was thrilled when she got the color she wanted and Fog Lights. This dealership really went the extra mile for us because we wanted to register the car in Maine under her name. This was a wonderful experience and I will buy my next vehicle from them. Thank you Kristen Dunn and Charlie Lopes and the rest of the team. Gayle Coughlin More
