I was trying to buy an older car that I liked better than my 3 year old car and hopefully reduce my monthly payments. My car is in average condition with low miles and books for way more than I owe. The test drive went okay and I did like the car so I had them work up a deal-that's where it went south! The offer they presented was really one sided and of course they low balled me like crazy on my car( lower than rough trade!) which I kind of expected for a first offer, can't blame a dealership for trying, they are in it to make money after all. Unfortunately that was also the only offer! I explained that they weren't even close to a deal I would take and they said take it or leave it! Needless to say I left it. They wanted me to roll money on my car AND pay doc fees as well as full clean retail on the old car! First of all the car they were selling isn't clean- it has a hole in the bumper where a vent used to be! Second, I've never paid full retail on ANY car in my life! Most people wouldn't, it's not a good deal. Anyways these guys wouldn't even consider meeting me halfway even after I offered a down payment and that's why I feel they are way too greedy to do business with and I would avoid them at all cost! I just arrived in Barre on a Friday night when I noticed a burning smell coming from my Jeep. Long story short, I called the next morning, which was a Saturday, and the Service Advisor, John, told me to come right in. They replaced a bearing and an axle seal and finished the job by noon... on a Saturday, with no appointment! I was really happy with the service, and even happier that we all made it home safely. Thank you! More

He was very friendly, and gave me a great deal right off the bat. I didn't even have to haggle, since the deal was so good. The entire staff was friendly and courteous. They also offer free lifetime Vermont inspections, if you buy a new car from them. And they have a discount program for oil changes. More
Great people and great price I was looking to get out of my Sentra and get back into a truck. I spoke with Jessica at Midstate Hyundai and she told me about a Dodge Dakota that wo I was looking to get out of my Sentra and get back into a truck. I spoke with Jessica at Midstate Hyundai and she told me about a Dodge Dakota that would fit my needs and wants. I went to the dealership, test drove the Dakota and brought it home that day. The service I was provided was awesome. The whole truck buying experience was great. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. I know I will be back to buy my next truck. More

I was told by the person in service that I would need to contact the dealership that I purchased my Jeep from and have them submit a claim to Chrysler. The dealership I purchased my Jeep from is an hour and a half away and Midstate is 10 minutes from me. So I contacted the dealership I purchased the vehicle from and they advised said I should have no issue having my local dealership handle the issue. So they contact Midstate on my behalf, and Midstate's service rep Paul refused to help. So this left me to contact Chrysler who also contact Midstate who again refused to help me again. Needless to say I will be issuing a formal complaint through Chrysler and to the GM of this dealership! More
I was in Montpelier for my boys state hockey tournament and was looking for a place to feed them when I happened by Midstate Dodge, I noticed a Ram pickup out front with a fisher minute mount plow on it, a and was looking for a place to feed them when I happened by Midstate Dodge, I noticed a Ram pickup out front with a fisher minute mount plow on it, as I am a general contractor with a plowing business it certainly sparked my interest. I pulled in and was looking at it when Ed Ryder came over to see if I needed any helped, I told him I was interested in the 2012 ram and he was very gracious and helpful, he started the truck right up for me and we made arrangements for me to come down the next weekend to test drive and talk about a trade for my old ram. He was ready and waiting for us with all of his complimentary folks at the ready also, The haggling began but was pretty painless, within 30 minutes we had settled on a deal that was very amenable to me. By 230 that afternoon we were on our way north again with my brand new used truck. We were very pleased with Midstate Dodge for a job well done. More
I recently visited this dealership to look at one of their used cars. Prior to visiting the dealership I had submitted a trade appraisal form online as well as contacted the dealership with specific que their used cars. Prior to visiting the dealership I had submitted a trade appraisal form online as well as contacted the dealership with specific questions about the vehicle and asked to be emailed. Instead they called, and when I returned their call, they did not have any of my info to reference. The initial salesperson that I worked with was polite and helpful, and I was interested in the car, so I went in for a test drive which also went well. However, once we started discussing prices and trade in values another salesman got involved and was somewhat abrasive and came accross as condescending. After almost 2 hours at the dealership, we were still interested in the car, and we were assured that they would discuss with the owner and get back to us "first thing in the morning" since "we were close" on prices. We never heard back. Not impressed. Just checked the website - car still available and price has decreased on the car. Can't tell if the dealership knew that the car had issues and when I requested another mechanic look it over, they decided they didn't want to do business.....Regardless, bad customer service. Seems shady. More

Joann, my salesperson, was friendly, knowledgeable about the vehicle, professional, and extremely helpful, without being pushy. She asked me what my needs were and was genuinely concerned with meeting them. Your sales manager, Jessica, suggested I take the car home and check to make sure the Hyundai A ccent 5-door was going to be big enough, which it was and is now sitting in my driveway! After spending some time looking for a truck on-line, I narrowed my choices down to 3 choices. I only wish I had chose to go to Midstate Dodge first. I looked at two trucks in the upper valley, but one was narrowed my choices down to 3 choices. I only wish I had chose to go to Midstate Dodge first. I looked at two trucks in the upper valley, but one was in very poor shape and the other dealer gave me the run around on price. I called Midstate and when I arrived they had the truck cleaned and in front of the showroom. After going on a quick test drive, we came back and went over the numbers. There was no run around there like the last dealership. In a matter of minutes they had given me a price and payment options. Without asking they gave me a copy of the CarFax report and we were able to come to an agreed figure in less than 15 minutes. I was in and out in no time, I should have gone there first. More
