So Internet price said 25000 I came in and they said the internet price is off by 2000 and they would add that onto the total. They would let you haggle the price of any vehicle either. in thier minds it wa internet price is off by 2000 and they would add that onto the total. They would let you haggle the price of any vehicle either. in thier minds it was already lowest price. I put 8000 cash down and purchased the vehicle. After a couple of days we noticed shaking in the ca when you hit 40 mph. transmission problems were the issue so we let the car goto shop and they did a slack job for the 2 months we have had the vehicle 5 of those weeks its been in the shop 3 times. I purchased a used Toyota truck in March, 2013. Corey Wright was the individual that sold me the truck. First impression was good and they wanted my business, but there were a few items on the truck that Wright was the individual that sold me the truck. First impression was good and they wanted my business, but there were a few items on the truck that needed replacing and a tire cap that was missing. I was told by both Corey and Alan that they were ordered and they would mail them to me, since I lived 60 miles from the dealership. After many, many calls and promises it never happened. Alan told us that he was all about customer service even after the sale, ( and there is a plaque on the wall in the dealership that says McEleven will customer service is there priority) but he continues to avoid me and make up lies. After the sale Alan told me that if I refereed people to buy from them, he would send me a check. I did and a truck was purchased, but I have yet to see any check. This experience is the exact reason reasons people hate to buy from dealerships. What happen to the honest, caring businesses that did have good customer service? More
to say if I saw this site I would not have gone is an understatement. It started in 2011 when I paid cash for a 2003 Buick Lasabre, when I purchased it it had a dent near the gas tank and a nail in the s understatement. It started in 2011 when I paid cash for a 2003 Buick Lasabre, when I purchased it it had a dent near the gas tank and a nail in the sidewall of the tire. No problem they said come back Monday Morning and we will get it fixed right up for you and you can use you coupon out of the "Warranty" Book to get the dent pulled. I am disable, and in constant pain from the neck down. I sat there for 4 hours, and Justin ended up taking me and picking me up from my doctor's appointment. I then had to wait an additional 4 hour's. Outcome, they were waiting all that time for a new tire, dent man left and it was never fixed. Made another appointment with dent person, didn't show up for work that day. So I just kept the dent. 1st oil change went smooth, 9 months later, I wanted the tires rotated and balanced as well, work was done in a semi reasonable amount of time. They come out and tell me I needed a air filter for 32.00, and a left front hub wheel assembly for 432.00, Mind you I had the balance because it had a small shake at 60 miles per hr. I didn't fall for it at all. I get my car and at 50 miles per hour it shook light an earth equake was going on. They again insisted it was the wheel assembly. I took the car to AAA, they looked over the car, said I need 3 new tires and a rim, and that 1 of my shocks were leaking so that would have to be change. I asked did you find anything wrong with and of the wheel assemblies, they said NO they were all fine. Then my cousin dies, there is no way I could drive that car to Ohio with the shaking going on, so I go to trade it in at McElveen of Summerville, mind you this is 11 months later, I had only put 3,000+ miles on it bringing it up to 77,000+ miles. Then they tell me the car is only worth 500.00 in the exact condition I purchased it. So a car I paid 8,000.00 CASH for lost that much value even though I had to buy 4 window assembly units 2 months after purchase and have them installed, which is VERY expensive. Didn't go to them because of previous miss treatment. I through a fit like you wouldn't believe, I then called Todd Smith General Manager, who never returned my call that's where David Woolwine comes in, My salesman Pete Thompson was awesome, No long with the company after helping me out, David tells me they are going to make everything right, pick out a car and they will handle the rest. I get a 2005 Honda Pilot which I absolutely love this June, missed my cousins funeral, found out my father was no expected to be alive much longer, still needing to get to Ohio, filled out ALL the paperwork Wrapped up the deal, and went to Ohio, come back, and they lost all my paper work and after sitting there waiting for JJ in finiance the only finiance guy working that day, end up leaving again because he is to busy to deal with me, go back fill out his set of paper work, he say's ok everything is fine. After having the Honda Pilot for almost a month I find out they still hadn't paid off the small loan I took out to fix the windows. Then they send salesman John to my house very nice guy, I don't think they wanted another scene, we are filling out the bank papers, he didn't even know which bank we were going through. Then he say's they want 300.00 down, (because they hadn't paid the loan off before the next payment came do) I told him I didn't have it, he said ok that's no problem. He has to come back again because he needed my referances for the 3rd time. the 4th time I gave them to him over the phone, now remember I filled all that out in the beginning. Now I think everything is set, I get a note from that small loan saying my payment is over due and must pay 200.00 or they will repo the car, so I have to call them again today. The only good thing about that Dealership is the receptionist, it is sad when she recognizes a customers voice. She is Wonderful and I have no idea how she can deal with all those people around her. God Bless her she is my only saving grace of that place. Oh and I still don't have a payment book or anything. I think it is time for me to get a lawyer! More
We bought a used car 12 months ago. We purchased the 1 year/12,000 mile warrantee to make sure we were protected from a lemon. Less than 2 months later it had to go in for the motor. It took them 3 week year/12,000 mile warrantee to make sure we were protected from a lemon. Less than 2 months later it had to go in for the motor. It took them 3 weeks to fix my car, durring which time I had no car to drive. Eight months down the the line, I took my car in for its "free oil change and point inspection" This took over 2 hours (of which I had my 4 year old twins bored as hell waiting with me) Then when it was finished they didn't let me know. I had to go ask what was going on. Then I stood in front of a lady for nearly 10 minutes waiting to get checked out. She answered about 3 phone calls all the while I was waiting. Then I went into the cashier to pay for a new air filter (Of course that needed to be changed, doesn't it always?) and she ignored me for quite some time. She answered her cell phone and talked on a personal call for several minutes while I stood in her window and tried to keep my boys from climbing the wall. Then a salesmen that worked there asked me if I "could please move my car, it was in the way'. Well I didn't put it where it was, they did and I couldn't get any help to get out of there!! Fast forward to now. 12 months after purchase. My transmission is shot. I am under the 12 month warrantee, but surprise......it's 700 miles over the 12,000mile part. They want to charge us $1950 to rebuild the crappy transmission. On a car that we bought only a year ago. And a transmission problem would have been caught in their "21 point inspection" had they actually done that. My husband said he watched the entire time it was getting the oil changed and they did nothing but change the oil. They didn't even check the air pressure in the tires. Now..... I have to fork out $1950 to fix my tranny, plus, once again, I will have no car while they fix it. I will NEVER return to this dealer for ANYTHING ever again. Too bad, because my husband is getting ready to buy a new truck. Thier loss. More
Ill start off with saying if i could have given this a rating of zero it would have been. Ok so i go into the dealership after i was "approved" online for a truck that was on thier website. I call to se rating of zero it would have been. Ok so i go into the dealership after i was "approved" online for a truck that was on thier website. I call to see if its there the next morning and i was told yes (1) i get there 30 mins later and no truck. noone even remember it and it was very noticeable. So im told that they could get me into a truck around the same price (truck was $15,960). So needing a decent truck i agreed to let them try. they had to run my credit again bc they were either to lazy to go get the paperwork or had no idea about the website approval, after being told on the phone who to ask for. So after running it again they come back to me saying that they couldnt get me financed into any truck over 100,000 miles.()I say ok and they start looking for trucks and nothing on the lot was under the mileage. They get online and find a truck that they wanted $23,000 for. I was shocked, it was nice but thats 7k away from what i want to pay. My payments were suppose to be in the $400 range. I put $500 down and said on payday id have another. so then i go into the finace office and the guy says that nothing is approved until the bank says yes. haveing crappy credit i am trying to find a decent truck and i know im goin to get somewhat screwed, but he starts off with $567 for 72 months, way out of my range. so i agree to wait and see what the bank says, maybe the bank would let me know what i could get financed for if nothing else. I was also told i could drive away in something on the lot until this truck came in. (Never happened) The next day nothing, and the next afternoon i decide that after some other things that had happened in my personal life i know longer needed, wanted, or now could afford this truck, and so i go to the dealership and i am told that they dont offer a cool off period or a change of mind clause in the state of SC. and that im stuck buying a truck, also at this time im told that i was approved late last night, but the guy wouldnt give me any details. He says hell find me something i can afford around the orginal price, and that i should come back the next day. The next day i go back in and bascially told that nothings changed and they are still trying to find me something and that would have to come back when they found out something. I tell the guy to quit pulling my strings and that if he hadnt gotten me approved i wanted my down payment back, after alot of BS they finally decide to give it back to me the next day in a check form after they had taken it on a debit card. The salesman himself said that he couldnt understand why they use to just hit refund and that the money would go back, but anyway not in my case i guess. i was told the above on a wensday, i get told the next day until friday and then im told itll be monday, today is monday and when i went back there yet again i seen the sales guy lacey and he proceded to get irate and show is ass in front of customers managers and all, when i wouldnt shake his hand and i asked did he have what i came in for. Look im just tired of dealing with these incompetent rejects. it would be in ur best intrest to not even bother. More
They sold me a previously sold, wrecked car and passed it off as new. Found out from another Buick dealer about the damage. The dealer will not pay for the repair. They were rude and lied about several thing off as new. Found out from another Buick dealer about the damage. The dealer will not pay for the repair. They were rude and lied about several things. Unfortunatly, I came in from another state. If you want a fair deal and want to be treated with respect, "THIS IS NOT THE DEALER TO COME TOO". More

BUYER BEWARE! On 6/24/10 we were told by Mr. Dave Lawhorn, Service Manager of McElveen to give him the paperwork and the dealership would send a check for $598.00 and send it right out to us. The nex Lawhorn, Service Manager of McElveen to give him the paperwork and the dealership would send a check for $598.00 and send it right out to us. The next day on 6/25/10 I even called him to make sure he had all the proper documentation to process our check. He replied when I had him on the phone “I got the paperwork and have already given to my Accounts Payable person so you can get paid just like we agreed.” Almost a month went by and still no payment. I called Mr. Dave Lawhorn. He said “Send me the paperwork again. They (Accounts Payable) must have lost track of it”. I resent on 7/20/10 and the next day Mr. Lawhorn said he got it. Thirty days latter, no payment! I called and asked for the Accounts Payable person who I found out was Ms. Ashley Parker. Ms. Parker asked me to send her the paperwork. She did confirm she got it and would give me an answer in a day or so. 15 days latter no payment or even a call from her. Now 2 months latter Ms. Parker and Mr. Lawhorn will not even take my phone call or return my voicemail. IS THIS THE COMPANY YOU WANT TO MAKE YOUR FAMILY’S 2ND LARGEST PURCHASE FROM? More
