Salesman earned my respect After a 30 year career in sales myself, I pride myself in being able to go head to head against any salesman and usually enjoy beating up on less expe After a 30 year career in sales myself, I pride myself in being able to go head to head against any salesman and usually enjoy beating up on less experienced (or less well trained?) folks whenever I helped friends or relatives shop for cars. Dave took all of my "fun" out of negotiating and literally made an offer so competitive that I felt guilty for making a counter offer, but the salesman in me had to try.. They left me with no room to negotiate except to say yes, and we are very pleased with the 2012 CR-V that we purchased for my senior citizen mother. However, the main reason I feel compelled to share my story is the way Dave treated me the day I first walked on the lot. I am currently undergoing chemo treatments, and had noticed a couple of used RAV-4's on his lot on my way to the infusion center that morning. Six hours later on my way home, I decided to drive through the lot to see if either of those cars would work for my mom. I was weak and not feeling good, and did not want to talk to anyone, much less a car salesman. While peering in the windows, Dave walked up but I was basically rude and unpleasant to him - my attitude was no xx and immediately to the point of what I was looking for. He just said for me to get in my car and follow him down the hill to see this CR-V that just came in. I quickly looked it over and was impressed, but wanted to leave the lot and follow up when I felt better. Never once did Dave pressure me for a name or contact number, he was 100% respectful of my situation. He listened, provided an excellent recommendation for our needs, made us a deal we couldn't refuse, all with zero pressure and no stupid salesman tricks. It is hard to find a sales professional that knows how to listen, and Dave is one of the best I've ever come across. More
