Good morning and thank you for your review. We apologize for not meeting your level of service expected from our dealership. We did go through your records and at time of sale your brake pads passed the safety inspection and were recorded as having higher than standards are required to pass a safety inspection in the state of Colorado. Our customers safety is our number one priority when selling a used vehicle with the McDonald Volvo name on the back of it. Due to the fact that you purchased the vehicle before our reconditioning process was completed it sometimes takes time to ensure we are living up to our reputation of selling premium used vehicles. Unfortunately we cannot control the time it can take waiting for parts, transport and other logistical issues. I know two weeks is a long time to wait for anything but we also don't want to rush your vehicle through the reconditioning process and potentially miss something. With your moms battery, batteries can work one day and fail the next. It is an unfortunate circumstance but at the time of inspection everything was fine and the vehicle was being powered properly. Batteries unfortunately can and will fail after a certain time period. If you had brought your vehicle here for service I am sure we would have helped you with the pricing if it wasn't under a warranty. We are glad you are enjoying your vehicle and we do thank you for purchasing your vehicle with us and being a loyal customer. Thank you for the response to my review. Given that no identifying information was provided in my review, I find it difficult to understand exactly how my service records were reviewed by the dealership. I also find it hard to believe that Colorado minimum standards for my brakes would have been met at the time of the sale since they needed to be replaced two and a half months later. If they were that bad, they should have been addressed well before delivery. It seems the brakes "passed" the test and would have been the first item replaced when I brought the car in for service. After all, the dealership would have been reimbursed for a warranty claim at that time rather than have to pay out of pocket for the repair. I'm truly disappointed that no responsibility is taken by your dealership for a substandard review of a vehicle. In addition to the review above, I sent an email to the customer service department on the same day from which I have received no response. It seems McDonald only values what others can see (public reviews and the exterior of a car) rather than what truly matters (the satisfaction of their customers - especially repeat customers, and the safety of the vehicles they sell). As I mentioned before, McDonald will not receive my business in the future, nor my recommendation from those who ask since my experience this time was rruly awful and I do not trust that service on my vehicle will be completed in the manner I expect.

I do appreciate your response. We were able to figure out which vehicle was talked about in the review with the date stated and the work that was involved. The service manager was also familiar with the issue stated. Yes that is correct that you did not give us your name but we always try to figure it out to become better. As I stated before we did check you brakes and they were within safety guidelines. Volvo will never reimburse for anything that is still working or within safety specs and being a wear item, Volvo would not cover this under a warranty claim. It is in our dealer agreement to stay within the parameters of the program. Brakes are also something that is considered a wear item and is traditionally a cost to the customer. Same reason that tires are not warrantied for wear. If we can help you out on pricing we would be more than happy to try and assist you as we do value your loyalty. Since at the time of the inspection the brakes were considered at a safe level no reputable dealer would suggest replacing the brakes at the time we sold the vehicle to you. Unfortunately brakes do wear. Again, my offer to assist is still on the table if you would like to discuss further. We apologize that we have not met your level of customer satisfaction.
