At the start of my experience it was a good run, My family had previously bought cars from McDonald Volvo but my recent one I bought had quite some issues. The 2022 S60 I bought in dec of 2021 looked family had previously bought cars from McDonald Volvo but my recent one I bought had quite some issues. The 2022 S60 I bought in dec of 2021 looked like swirl city with the only option being told to me by the salesman of "we have options but they'll cost money" on brand new paint that came in horrible quality, my Honda has better paint. The next up is the fact I've had to take it maybe 5 times since then to the dealer to address issues with the speaker system, a time where the electric drivetrain went down, interior issues etc. only to ONLY be recently taken seriously where I was able to point out the things that were wrong. Currently I've been 6 days without a vehicle because there are no loaners, no assistance to anything even though you sign up for a "luxury" car, I had reported from service that my car was getting worked on when it was sitting in a lot for 3-4 out of those 6 days outside(still no car mind you). I'm completely disappointed in the experience I've had and honestly just quitting the Volvo brand after being so let down. Take your money to another brand. More

I have been contacting them every month since then and they are not helpful at all. I’m driving with an expired temporary plate. I got stopped by the police and received 2 warnings and received an email from the lender requesting to find my title. This is so Unacceptable! More
should be zero stars - loyal customer for 25 years - had an appointment to have the oil changed at 9:30 - arrived just after 9:00 waited for the service advisor who when it was convenient for him to talk wi an appointment to have the oil changed at 9:30 - arrived just after 9:00 waited for the service advisor who when it was convenient for him to talk with me told me they would need the car overnight. For an oil change???? he became visibly frustrated that I did not think that was reasonable and stated he would attempt to have the service started within two to two and one half hours. I will never darken the doors of this unprofessional establishment and have directed my wife to do the same. Interesting that a call to Rickenbaugh Volvo I was told it would not take longer than an hour and it costs $50.00 less than mcdonalds. Further I called the shop that services my BMW and Porsche and they were more than happy to service a Volvo - that shop and Rickenbaugh understand customer service - Mcdonalds clearly does not More

A nightmare experience that keeps getting worse!Update: A nightmare experience that keeps getting worse! Update: 6/8/21 McD Volvo (McDV) just keeps getting worse. Went to DMV today and found out that Mc A nightmare experience that keeps getting worse! Update: 6/8/21 McD Volvo (McDV) just keeps getting worse. Went to DMV today and found out that McDV sent DMV wrong title info. DMV has sent McDV a mail on 5/13/21, and almost a month later still waiting to hear back. What is worse, I called McDV twice in last 2 weeks, and both times they insisted that McDV did NOT hear from the DMV, and have no idea what is going on. I didn't receive the temporary extension via email despite two reminders. Phone number from Robert (see reply from McD V) goes to an voicemail everytime with no call back. No wonder the staff is so bad. I get a courtesy call from McDV is after updating the review - then nothing. Original woes of car purchase are yet to be addressed. SHAMEFUL! UPDATE - 4/29/21 Matt C. (McDonald Volvo) called after updating the review - how "sorry" they are, and promised getting back after talking to manager. As expected, no follow up - TYPICAL! It was a courtesy call checking another box - like they did when claiming to have serviced my car. - After "repeated reminders", even the engine oil was not changed as the sales rep. Aaron claims. This is shocking and contrary to impression of fellow reviewers. The sales/promises of McDonald Volvo continue failing on all accounts - Reliability, Value of a dealer's word, timeliness, empathy, or the basics - clean the car before delivery, refill the air in the tires before car delivery. Not to mention - I noted these problems in my first visit and reminded them in future calls/text. The pictures here are from the morning after car delivery with timestamps. _original review_ 1) Initial sales: To begin with, Mr Matt comes up with a quote after we want to buy. On Carfax, McD V didn't indicate the dealer fees anywhere. He puts his pen down in a 2-5 minutes at 2-3% discount on what is now a more than 12% increase without taxes. He right away says - this is the final price offer to try and earn your business. If I didn't actually like the car or had more time to look for options, I would have walked out. Matt jokes about my financial condition and says - hey, if you are interested in buying a new Volvo, I'm sure we can talk more. After just explaining that this is my first car and on budget, this is just insensitive. 2) During the test drive, we reported low tire pressure. Another rep (Brandon?) takes the car, and somehow returns with lower pressure than before. We emphasize this, and categorically mention to check the tire pressure sensors and tires. Nothing! See the pictures to note the air pressure at which we received the car (32-33 instead of 38). 3) Unlike every other dealer allowing $5k to be paid by credit card, McD V does only $2.5k. As a sales rep and their finance officer explained on two different occasions, it is so that the customer can't just call our banks to stop payment, and get a "free car". Maybe, other dealers trust/value their customers more. Even trying to escalate the request to the Director - was refused in an instant without caring to know more about the customer or their situation. No empathy or personal involvement. 4) We agree to purchase the car and confirm that McDonald will deliver the car next day. No follow up, or response to my messages left with the staff on phone for the next 2 days. Not to mention, the car was still on the inventory for sale. If another customer wanted the car, they would have got it. 2 days later, I keep getting asked by 2 different people (Matt, Aaron) to return to the dealership to sign the paperwork and pickup the car - after what we had agreed upon for car delivery on the day we confirmed that we will buy. 5) The car is full of pet hair - never cleaned or detailed (see pictures). After repeated reminders to "please" have the car cleaned and detailed - no one bothered. Car isn't charged either - battery empty (pictures) I am beyond terrified at the lack of concern or empathy from majority of the staff regardless. At this rate, this is the first and last sale ever made with McDonald Volvo. I will update the review in coming days. What a shame this sales experience has been? More
Worst service in the country. Came in for an oil change and left with about $1,000 of fluid changes and a recommendation to replace gas tank for another $2,500. and left with about $1,000 of fluid changes and a recommendation to replace gas tank for another $2,500. More
Not sure what to say, honestly. It seems no matter where you go for ANYTHING CAR RELATED in the Denver area you just can't find an honest service location. My wife gets in for the oil change today, she had you go for ANYTHING CAR RELATED in the Denver area you just can't find an honest service location. My wife gets in for the oil change today, she had to cancel the oil change at the competitor location Monday since we had an emergency with our dog. Oil change tire rotation, great simple, easy. Her phone dies while she's at the dealer waiting for the service to be done so she can't call me or text me what the pricing is going to be. Joe comes up to her telling her what it will be and she says ok. (Thinking that's what an oil change and tire rotation is.) $394.36 for an oil change with some BG additives she knows nothing about and an EPR engine flush, and software updates that are complimentary at other facilities. Keep in mind this is our very first maintenance since purchasing the vehicle CERTIFIED PRE OWNED. My wife gets home to show me the service and what they "did". Absolutely blown away by the complete disrespect and advantage they had taken over her while she was there. Let me tell you what the BG EPR service consists of. Adding the EPR to the old engine oil and letting it idle for 10 minutes. Well that's $24.40 of the technicians HARD labor. Draining the oil, changing the filter, adding the BG MOA to the engine oil and throwing a can of BG 44K Fuel system cleaner in the gas tank. Then a tire rotation which she asked for. With the level of experience I have in the automotive industry I am far from surprised, this was a great test run. Hey guys I know it sucks having to work during covid 19 with a skeleton crew and a severe lack of hours for your techs to flag, but this is far from acceptable. I spoke with the manager who was friendly but couldn't offer much more information as to what was involved with the Software updates and which ones were in fact updated. For our first service a simple oil change and tire rotation couldn't satisfy the businesses or the service advisors thirst for making the most out of every customer. If 95% of your customers are falling prey to this, then I feel terribly sorry for your clientele. It's funny how if you need warranty work done you have to schedule weeks out, but come on in today and we'll be sure we can get that gravy work and $400 out of your hard earned pocket. Seems like the business made a bad decision by not including complimentary software updates anymore, seeing as how numerous ones across the state and country still do. Oh and don't pay the $35 MISC CHARGE for shop supplies, the techs use 2 ounces of brake clean and one rag. You think people would have it figured out by now, word of mouth travels faster than anything. Attached is a screen shot from the competitor Volvo dealer showing the software updates. My brother in law is a former employee of this company and he spoke so highly of them I was sure to have a good experience, how wrong we were. Update : Going over recommended services is certainly understandable, however not saying they're additional or what they are for, by being extremely vague is not something that is becoming of good business practices, and aligns itself more with sneaky sales tactics, in hopes of unnecessary updates. Again, make the most out of every paying customer, but disregard any mediocre quality of service when it comes to handling repairs that are needed to be covered under factory CPO warranty. You say the shop supplies goes to special tools and the likes, which is fine, but that is also the cost of business overhang that is required for you to run a shop, not something that is just passed off to the customer because you chose to run a Volvo facility that requires "special" tools. What's so special about the tools required to do an oil change ? A wrench and a socket to remove the oil filter housing ? Give me a break, the incompetence runs deep here, very disappointed overall at the denials left and right from this organization. Offering a solution, based on the problem they created by the lack of communication and overall LACK of information provided by Joe at the time he was speaking to my wife during the process is not something that's going to be easy to make up. But, again, according to your service manager "95% of our clientele appreciate this." I highly doubt that many people love coming in for an oil change and tire rotation and being taken for an additional $300 out of their pocket, especially during the state of the country we're all currently living in. Service rep was sarcastic I took my new Volvo into a scheduled service appointment due to fog lights that were missing from the factory. After I explained the issue, he said " I took my new Volvo into a scheduled service appointment due to fog lights that were missing from the factory. After I explained the issue, he said "Yep, they're not there. What do you want me to do about it?" He referred me to the sales team despite the fact that I had purchased the car at another dealer. In answer to his question: Nothing. I have taken my business to Sill-Terhar. More
