Review Ryan is always great! Nothing but good stuff to say about him...on a different note, I wish a new headlight bulb didn't cost me $250.00 but that's Vol Ryan is always great! Months of battling finally i got them to take a look at it..I was told I need thousands of dollars in work done (a new tranny) they brought me pink fluid on a rag and showed me clean tranny fluid said my tranny had a default inside and needed to be replaced. Told me that their mechanic is a 30 year vet..two days later got a second opinion...they drained fluid right in front of me!!! It was BLACK! GOT A TRANNY FLUSH CAR RUNS LIKE NEW More

He was courteous, I visited McDonald Volvo for my 50th birthday, looking for a C70 convertible. The staff (Paul) treated me exceptionally well. He was courteous, informative, and expeditious. The test drive went really well, and the trade value came in with an exceptionally fair and competitive quote. I didn't get financing - but have no doubt that would have gone just as well. The vehicle was certified - so it had a plain no-nonsense policy. No games there. The dealership reflected the quality and professionalism I would have expected from a Volvo dealer. I highly recommend them. More
Worst dealer experience...stay away!!! Out of all xxxxxxx car dealers in this fine city, this one stands above the rest as the biggest unethical, dishonest and self-serving xxxx!!! Please Out of all xxxxxxx car dealers in this fine city, this one stands above the rest as the biggest unethical, dishonest and self-serving xxxx!!! Please do yourself a favor and don't get screwed by this greedy dump like I did. I will spare the details to not make this review too long...the quick summary is that I bought a used vehicle (a high end car $50K, not a beater) and it needs almost the entire front suspension replaced...cost $3500!! The dealership has refused to take any responsibility for the repairs, which in my opinion would've been fair given the "130 point inspection" they advertise. So let me get this straight...a suspension does not make it into the top 130??? I've spoken to Will, the GM of the dealership, who is the most condescending, self-righteous xxxxx I've ever dealt with in my life. He alone is the reason not to ever come this place. Instead of addressing a legitimate concern from a good customer who just spent $50K he implied that I'm a LIAR by saying that I could have damaged the suspension on my way home and saying that he and his technicians did not hear a noise from the front end. Here is a suggestion Will...you and your staff need to get your hearing checked, I'm very concerned. A deaf person can hear this noise, my wife thought the wheels are falling off! McDonald took my car in for an inspection, sent it to their buddies at Stevinson Imports who are either completely incompetent (just like McDonald mechanics) or are in bed with McDonald to sell me some repairs. They kept my car for 3 days...that's correct 3 days...and recommended a $2000 repair that "may or may not fix the noise" xxx?!? McDonald refused to pay for those repairs, of course. Will's words were "well, if the suspension was leaking we would fix it"...yes, that was a real excuse. Here is my favorite part. I took the car to an independent mechanic who found the problem in 30 minutes, not 3 days. When I called Will to tell him "surprise, the suspension IS LEAKING and your incompetent mechanics just did not find it" he had the nerve to tell me that I "took the car from place to place to get the answer I wanted". Yes Will, because I could not wait to find out that I need a $3500 repair...that's what everyone wants!!! What a xxxxx. So as you'd expect he refused the repairs despite his previous statement. Not only is this guy a jerk, but also not a man of his word...which in my view makes him NOT a man period!! At no point was he, the manager, concerned about doing the right thing for a customer, he treated me as just another number. Conclusion, I was jerked around and made a fool of by this scamming, dishonest dealer and now I'm stuck with a hefty repair bill. And in case they reply to my post by saying that I didn't bring the car back right away...that's partially true, but I had my reasons: 1) trust in a big dealer not selling you a broken car (boy was I wrong there), 2) we left the country 3 days after the car purchase, 3) I was made unwelcome by them when my "check engine" light came on on the 2nd day and I was told that I'm SOL. This was supposed to be a fun purchase for my wife and I that we saved for and McDonald dealership has turned it into a nightmare. This was by far the worst experience I've had with a dealer and this place is as unethical, dishonest and disrespectful to the customer as they come. STAY AWAY at all costs!!! It's only by not giving business to people like these can we improve honesty and service in the car sales industry. And then these guys wonder why they have a reputation of being scamming xxxxxxxx?!? All they have to do is look in the mirror.... More
I'm not going to run down the complete list of issues I had with them again, but here is a short description: Car wouldn't start (car had 34,000 miles - 2K over warranty): - 1st trip - needed new batt had with them again, but here is a short description: Car wouldn't start (car had 34,000 miles - 2K over warranty): - 1st trip - needed new battery $180 (didn't fix problem) - 2nd trip - needed fuel pump $630 ($700 less 10% discount) - (still didn't fix problem) - phone call - they explained to me it was the gas sold in Oct-May (whatever - now it was May, so it wasn't doing it anymore) AC is weak: - 1st trip - needs to be charged $250 - 2nd trip (this trip was for an oil change) - the air conditioning unit shows signs of leaking the dye they put in last time - it needs at$200 part and $1000 labor - I decided I needed a second opinion. I went to Spike's on Hampden and had the guy take the car for a week - he charged the AC unit, called me and told me no way McDonald put dye in the AC unit - otherwise there would be a sticker on the unit saying 'dye in use', also, no signs of dye leaking out. Spike's said they didn't want to replace the unit and charge me $1000, so he charged it (for $113) and said he'd credit it back if the part DID need to be fixed. 6 months later the AC unit is working great. YOU BE THE JUDGE! After complaining that I've dumped $900 into the car for parts that didn't fix the problem, the McDonald service manager argued with me and told me that they did not charge me for fuel pump (above) because his "computer" said so. I guess my credit card company just created a charge and kept the money. I had to fight for the 10% discount because the battery wasn't the problem - but their 'computer' said it was (along with the fuel pump). Don't go to McDonald Volvo, Volkswagen or Audi for service, you will only be disappointed when the bills keep adding up for service that doesn't solve the problem. More
