VERY Dishonest salesman, manager and a jerk of a dealership We went and looked at the car we likes....everything was nice and friendly and then within 10 minutes of running credit report we were told they were We went and looked at the car we likes....everything was nice and friendly and then within 10 minutes of running credit report we were told they were going to contact a credit union to get a better rate and they would call us back on Tuesday....this was a Saturday.....Tuesday all day waited...I was not going to call them, I took them at their word; late Tuesday called them was told they would call me back...never did, called one week later after emailing a complaint and the manager, who turned out not a manager at all, tried to pass the buck to the financing dept. Called and talked to dealership manager (prob a lie also) and he told me unless I was going to buy a car from them, he did not want to discuss it, told him I would go to Portland, he told me to make sure I only had my vehicle services there....ya way to go for customer service and uphold dealership integrity; I just wanted him to rectify the problem, he just wanted to make a buck. This was after I secured enough cash for over a third down payment. Screw them....bunch of weasles!!!! More
Didn't put oil cap on. We had bought the vehicle new from McCurley and had 1 oil change on it at McCurley. We took our 2013 Outback to Stewart Subaru when we discovered it We had bought the vehicle new from McCurley and had 1 oil change on it at McCurley. We took our 2013 Outback to Stewart Subaru when we discovered it was low on oil and Stewart was closer than McCurley at that time. After checking the oil and adding a quart the tech left the oil cap off. We had bought an extra quart of oil just in case we might need. We didn't discover the oil cap was off until I had taken the car the Richland that night and when I came home my husband said there was oil on the carport. He opened the hood and the oil cap was sitting on the battery and oil was all over the engine. He then added the quart of oil we bought. We called Stewart the next day and they said to bring it up and they would steam clean the engine. They cleaned the engine, but didn't bother to clean the windshield after they were done and did not replace the quart of oil we had to put in. This dealership is 45 miles away from us. They should have offered to fill our tank and replace the quart of oil. We have not had a problem with oil loss since the incident, but I would never take my car to Stewart Subaru for service. More
Bait and switch tactics galore; I bought a vehicle that was marked up by two trim levels higher than what I actually got. Stay away from this dealership. I hope Attorney General and Federal Trade Commissio was marked up by two trim levels higher than what I actually got. Stay away from this dealership. I hope Attorney General and Federal Trade Commission shuts down their dealership. This is not what Mr. Stewart wants, I honestly don't think he knows how these managers are handling this business, if he did, I'm certain he'd have fired the whole crew and moved shop to his current state of residence, California. Yakima Stewart Subaru is crummy business and at this time, they are nothing but deceitful. BBB Non-Accredited, as others have reported that their problems go beyond this deceit of marking the vehicles for sale up exponentially higher than market local or national. The person who claims to have had a positive experience makes me think they work for the dealership, as I have heard very little good coming from this business. Also, Better Business Bureau states that this dealership no longer meets their qualifications due to their unwillingness to rectify these type of issues. WORST DEALERSHIP I'VE EVER HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF WORKING WITH; they try to make you feel like they are going above and beyond to help you out, but really, they just want to take your money and leave you hanging with an inflated balance. Later down the road your car is not worth what its supposed to, according the balance owed/payed off, and with similar miles - you do notice that if the car was two trim levels higher, the balance would make sense. You end up losing more than you bargained for, simply because you're ending your deal with a price 3.5K higher (before taxes) than it should be. Primary reasoning: Stewart Subaru quotes you for a car a couple trim levels higher, then puts you in the lowest trim level possible... very shady. It's sad Dealerships like this still exist; never again will anyone of my friend's/family drive a car in which they'd have purchased form Stewart Subaru of Yakima, ever again. Neither should you. I shopped all over Washington at a few different Subaru stores. I had some questions about which vehicle I wanted or needed. While price is always a concern it wasn't as important to me as my needs. The ot stores. I had some questions about which vehicle I wanted or needed. While price is always a concern it wasn't as important to me as my needs. The other dealers seemed more focused on how to be the best price the would not listen to what options and model I wanted. I thought I wanted the Forester and after talking to Mat Bland I realized that the Outback would better suit what I wanted as far as options and performance. So after receiving multiple offers on base model Foresters that didn't even have the options I wanted, I went back to those same dealers asking for the exact Outback that Mat had offered me and found that Stewart Subaru was within $100 of the "best" offer I received. So thank you Mat for taking the time to make sure I bought what I wanted and got everything I needed. I almost made a $25000 mistake if I had just focused on the cheapest price! And come to find out later the sales tax in Yakima saved me over $300 so as it turns out Mat was also the cheapest total price. Keep up the great work and don't change anything you are doing. More
I have bought 5 cars in the past from dealerships around the state. This has always involved a lot of research and talks with sales representatives, mostly in the Puget Sound area. I have plain and simple n the state. This has always involved a lot of research and talks with sales representatives, mostly in the Puget Sound area. I have plain and simple never encountered a less professional sales team that that of Stewart Subaru in Yakima. I had a cashiers check in hand and was excited to buy a car but not only were the secretive about their pricing (no price tags in the window) but there were children's clothes and a diaper bag in the car I was particularly interested in. very odd, but they brushed it off. Once they finally brought back prices they turned out to about $3k over-priced compared to other Washington Subaru dealerships and when I began feeling out negotiation potential they simply said goodbye. Not a "thanks for coming in", or anything. Then the salesman proceeded to talk negatively about us. Sad. I will not recommend them as a dealer to anyone I know. I hope they mature as a sales staff and realize that insulting customers is not the way to make a deal or keep anyone interested in coming back. Avoid them at all costs! More
