New car "bait and switch"? Yesterday, July 11, 2016 I went into the the McCarthy Chevrolet in Lee's Summit to look at the 2016 Impala with the intention of buying. I drove one o Yesterday, July 11, 2016 I went into the the McCarthy Chevrolet in Lee's Summit to look at the 2016 Impala with the intention of buying. I drove one of their v6 Impalas and really loved it. It was the color I wanted and had all the options I wanted. I was quoted a price (in writing) by the sales manager that included a 20% rebate that is a national promotion. I told the sales person that I was interested but needed my husband to look at the price. The sales person, Troy Shaw, called my husband this morning. My husband is the reason I chose McCarthy because he had purchased a Suburban there and was happy. My husband told Troy that I was bringing my car by to see what the dealership would offer for it. I went to McCarthy with my car at 11:30 to have the used car manager look at it and give me a price. He quoted a price and I told the sales person that I would take the deal. He told me he would get the papers ready and have the car cleaned and filled with gas. I had an appointment but told him I would be back today to get the car. I needed my title from home. I called about 2 to let Troy know that I would be there after 5 PM when my husband gets home. My husband and I returned to pick up the car before 6PM. At that time we were told by Troy and another sales person that the quoted price could not longer be honored. They said the 'special discount' had been given to another person on the previous day!? Before that moment no one had mentioned that even though there had been at least 2 opportunities to inform us before we moved forward. I am confused, disappointed, angry and sad. This was my first experience buying a car by myself and I had done all my homework. I can't say for certain that it was dishonest but it was certainly unprofessional and unethical. Paula C More

Worst Dealership I've purchased several new and used cars in my lifetime, but NEVER again will I buy from a McCarthy dealership nor will I have them work on my car in I've purchased several new and used cars in my lifetime, but NEVER again will I buy from a McCarthy dealership nor will I have them work on my car in the future. The entire process of purchasing my used car from them was the biggest nightmare I've ever been through with a car company. I was warned by a good friend of mine not to shop there.....and I should have listened. The service department was the best part of the experience with this place. Just will not bring my car here due to all the other issues I've had with the dealership. I would highly suggest going elsewhere to purchase your new or used car. More

The service rep, Trevor, was fast, efficient, and courteous. My wife mentioned to him that we were also shopping for a used car for our 19 yr old daughter. He told us we should talk to the manager,Eric. Eric was with another customer. but a salesperson, Tom, offered to help us. We told him were looking for an inexpensive but reliable car. He said he had a car that might meet the criteria. He brought the car around, a 2007 Saturn Ion with just 88,000 miles that looked to be in great shape It was in fantastic condition especially for being 8 yrs old I was stunned.We test drove it, it drives great, is very clean and is overall a great car. We immediately picked up our daughter. They negotiated the price to what my daughter was comfortable with. She decided to finance it instead of paying cash to help her establish credit. I cannot thank Eric,Tom, and Trevor enough. I have found the GM dealership myself and my family will go to from now on More
