I brought my Mazda CX 5 in for service, reporting an issue when shifting between low gears. The vehicle would hiccup making the ride very rough. The service department verified the issue and tried reset issue when shifting between low gears. The vehicle would hiccup making the ride very rough. The service department verified the issue and tried resetting the transmission timing. That did not solve the issue so they contacted Mazda Warranty because the vehicle is still under 6 years, 60k miles. After two days, the service department was told by the warranty department to check the rear differential, which turned out to be a little loose. I approved the work on the rear differential. I was even given a loaner vehicle for free because of how long everything was taking . So far so good. They were even sending me videos of what they were going to do. A couple days later, I was contacted by the service department and told that during the repair a non-warrantied part was damaged. The harnesses for the anti-lock break system were broken while being removed because they were rusted on. I was then told I would be responsible to cover the cost of replacing the damaged parts and asked if I approved replacing them. I said "What choice do I have? The car won't be drivable unless this gets fixed, right?" I had to 'approved" the work to replace the parts they broke or deal with a partially disassembled car. I had not been sent any video informing me the parts were rusted on and could be damaged. I never saw the broken parts. I was only contacted after the fact. I felt completely hustled. I spoke to other service centers and they agreed that I shouldn't be charged for the replacement parts that were broken during the repair. I will mention that they did waive the labor cost for the replacement of the broken parts. However, when I contacted the General Manager via voice mail and the service manager expressing that I was being charged for a situation I was not responsible for and had no knowledge of the potential before hand, I was still told that it was Mazda policy. At this point, my vehicle was being held hostage until I paid $300+. Once I had the vehicle back, I was still experiencing the issue I brought it in for two weeks ago. I opened a case with Mazda Customer Care, but they are unable to offer any kind of reimbursement and was told that the service manager at Mazda of West Ridge was unwilling to discuss the situation further. I will not return to this service center or dealership nor can I recommend them to anyone. More
This was one of the worst sales interactions I’ve encountered in buying a car. The pick up process took over 2.5 hours despite having an appointment. The salesman probably spent a total of ten minute encountered in buying a car. The pick up process took over 2.5 hours despite having an appointment. The salesman probably spent a total of ten minutes with me. After the whole ordeal he assured me he’d have the car ready to go: I couldn’t even find him as he was busy selling another car to someone else. My plates weren’t on the new car, the poor finance lady had to get the mileage off the odometer, and even the gas tank was on empty. Fortunately the manager stepped in and really helped out but the whole experience has completely tainted my view of Mazda as a whole. More
What started out as a very good experience has turned very sour. I purchased a CPO Mazda from Matt Maclean sight-unseen based on his description of the vehicle. Overall I am happy with purchase and the very sour. I purchased a CPO Mazda from Matt Maclean sight-unseen based on his description of the vehicle. Overall I am happy with purchase and the entire remote purchase process was very easy. I was told that the less than 3 year old car with 17k miles was in perfect condition without any blemishes and was freshly detailed and waxed by their dealership. I purchased the car for asking price, plus I paid for cost to ship it out of state to my home. When the car arrived, it appeared at first glance to be exactly as described but upon closer inspection, the paint was oxidized and scratched from prior car washes and there was mild curb rash on the right rear wheel. I washed the car and could tell that it had not been waxed in a long time. I also found a 6" scratch in the windshield that is directly in the line of sight of the driver. I called the General Manager, Jesse Cicione, and explained my findings and disappointment that the car was not waxed and detailed as promised. I also told him about the curb rash and scratch in the windshield. His response was that his detail department is the best in Rochester and that I could not be telling the truth about the condition of the car. I had my professional detailer evaluate the car and confirmed that it had likely not been waxed for over 1 year and definitely not in the preceding few months. Fortunately he was able to buff/wax the car, remove the scratches and now it looks like new. The scratch in the windshield is improved with buffing but still present. The curb rash will still need repair. I asked Jesse for reimbursement for the work I had done on the car to bring it to the condition that it was supposed to be when I purchased it. He refused and called me a money grabber. I have purchased several cars sight-unseen in the past and have usually been very happy with the process as long as the vehicle was well represented and all questions about condition were answered honestly. I very specifically asked about the cosmetic integrity of the car and asked for a detailed list of blemishes and was told there were none. Had Jesse just agreed to reimburse me for my cost to detail the car, this would have gone from a 2 star experience to a 4-5 star experience. Unfortunately Mazda of West Ridge and its management do not seem to care about their online customers enough to accurately represent their cars and stand by their promises. More

Staff was masked-up and following social distancing protocols, contactless transactions, proper seating inside and outside, etc., which was reassuring. The facilities were clean and comfortable and disinfected. Service was provided in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner and took less than an hour. Maintenance of my car was thorough with a full printed report. Some services were free, including NYS Inspection. I purchased my Mazda6 from Mazda of West Ridge in April 2019, it is turning out to be by far the best of the many cars I have owned, beautiful to look at and a pleasure to drive.
