I recently purchased a 2014 Mini Cooper from Moe at Mazda of South Charlotte. He was very nice in helping me test drive and purchase the vehicle so that was an easy experience. One of the things that was encouraging on purchasing a car that was 10 years old was the fact that it had been owned by one of the managers of the dealership and I was told that new tires had recently been put on the car. When I got home I scheduled the car for a inspection at one of my neighbor 's auto shops. And this will be on me right, because I didn't do it before I purchase the car, Idid it after I purchased the car. Overall the car did have a good inspection. The cowl under the windshield, wipers need to be replaced and the gasket around the convertible top was in horrible condition. Some things with age I expect. However, the tires were dry rotted and only visible from the inside of the car. And there's of course some rust underneath which comes with Mini coopers. I did send an email to the dealership to let them know that well they had put "new"tires on the car in 2022 at some point they were New Old stock. And as a result, I had to put new tires new new stock tires on the car before I'd even driven it 100 miles. So my lesson learned is if you're going to buy used car, have an independent mechanic review it first. I think my disappointment is in the fact that Moe or anyone from the dealership did not reach back out to me with anything, even if it's just we didn't realize. Because if you tell me new tires were put on the car I would expect that they would be tires that would last. More
