This dealer has a huge inventory (which seems to be unusual in today's world) and obviously sells a lot of cars. I bought a car there yesterday. I got the car I wanted, and the price was reasonable. However, my experience with Steve really soured me on this dealer, and in retrospect, I wish I had not bought my vehicle from them. It's a seller's market right now--I know that, and clearly Steve knows that. I was paying cash and requested a higher trade-in value for my older car based on the $1000 trade-in bonus advertised on their website. I completed the necessary steps on the website and provided the QR code I was given, which no one would scan. He came into the office and berated me for my request. He talked over me, didn't let me finish a sentence, and lied about my trade-in, saying it was "all smashed up" (it has a single dent maybe 4-6" in diameter) and "a cracked windshield" (a pencil-eraser sized chip that was repaired 10 years and has not spread). After multiple attempts to get a word in edgewise, I finally interrupted and told him that he was being very aggressive and I didn't appreciate it, to which he responded "I'm not being aggressive!" and continued to talk over me and denigrate my request for $500 more for my trade-in. He refused to honor the $1000 trade-in bonus advertised on their website and would not acknowledge to review the quotes I had gotten from other dealers on my trade-in or for financing (he says no banks are giving rates of under 5%, when another Mazda dealer had offered me 4.5% two days before). I wouldn't tolerate treatment like this from a friend or family member, and I'm sorry that I wrote a check to this man's company. More
I highly discourage dealing with this place. I drove over 3 hours the next day for a 3p appointment with them. After waiting over 30 minutes, I was told the vehicle was going to be $5000 more than our agreed upon offer. Then I was informed that the vehicle was not even there even though the dealer website stated the vehicle was at their dealership. The finance manager was polite about the situation but I was appalled that they would lure me down there and not have the car and then try to get me to pay $5000 more for a future car with an unknown eta. I shopped all over North Carolina for my special Mazda, but no one could find it. I went to Mazda of South Charlotte and told Angel exactly what I wanted, down to the tiniest detail. Angel stayed in touch the next few weeks as he scoured the country. To my surprise, he called one afternoon to report he'd found my car. My wife and I rushed to Mazda of South Charlotte and fairly jumped up and down when Angel brought it out to the front door for us....the car was exactly as I had requested. Angel and Sales Manager Jesse had made up their minds to honor my request and kept their word by finding my car. We went back the next week to have some special order lug nuts installed and discovered the service department is outstanding. Service employee Joey greeted us as we drove up, welcoming us with a big grin. By the way, you can watch your vehicle through a glass enclosed waiting area as the technicians treat your vehicle with the utmost care. The service area is highly organized, and my beautiful Mazda was treated like a king. I love my car, it's by far the best I have ever owned, and I would trust no one but Mazda of South Charlotte for its service. Thank you Angel and Sales Manager Jesse for finding my dream car. If you're looking for the best dealership in North Carolina, bar none, give Mazda of South Charlotte a try...you'll love them, just as I do. More
