Positive experience. No pressure for a couple of test drives. Required a bit of effort to get a price I liked, but this dealer was very straightforward and we found a win/win. I was quickly greeted by Ty Make sure you ask for Tyne! As a first time car buyer, I had no idea what I wanted. Mazda of Gladstone was my first stop. I was quickly greeted by Tyne who started with the usual of what am I looking for, what do I like, what do I don’t like, etc... Right off the bat, I’m very upfront about how I’m starting at ground zero and with a specific budget that I will not give into, so don’t even show me the cars that aren’t in my price range. I also let her know I am going into knee surgery in a week so I’m not buying anything right away, especially right then, because I won’t even be able to drive for minimum a month. I’ve never even looked into Mazda so I knew absolutely nothing about them. Tyne was very knowledgeable, showed me multiple features and benefits of different models and helped me narrow down exactly what I liked. Because she listened and understood my situation, Tyne offered to exchange information and send me links of vehicles that come to her lot and fit in my criteria. As I walked away from my first encounter with Tyne, I told my husband how much I liked her as a person. I felt like she actually listened to me and I didn’t get brushed away because I’m not a “right now” sale. My husband and I then went to other dealers to look at other makes and models. We had not one person treat us close to the service Tyne gave. She really set my standards on how a car salesman should treat a client! There were places I didn’t get greeted, I was brushed off because I said I wasn’t buying today, I was treated as I was dumb because I didn’t know what model I was wanting, and the horrible list goes on. At this point, I just wanted Tyne to help me! Of course at the initial meeting, I also fell in love with Mazda. It’s the quality, reliability, and the luxury feel I was looking for. While being able to do nothing but sit on my butt and shop on Amazon after surgery, Tyne did exactly what she said she would and followed up with me on different vehicles. She did not blow up my email box (hate it when that happens). She really did only send me links to things I wanted. It was probably the 3rd or 4th car she emailed that I loved! My husband and I went to the dealership a couple days after and bought the car!! In the purchase/paperwork process, Tyne stayed with me the whole time because she knew I was comfortable with her. There were other managers that stepped in to help (completely fine). They were all very nice, but even then, I didn’t totally feel like my voice was heard. Tyne had offered me their credit a few different times and a declined because I already had the loan preset with my bank. When others stepped in, that was all they were pushing on me it felt like. I don’t know how many times I kept saying no. I work in sales so I understand offering credit. But there is a limit. Because Tyne took the time to get to know me, she could tell I was getting frustrated and she let them know I’m firm on how I am already going to pay. The credit offers stopped right away. That was the only small, small thing I didn’t like. I did absolutely love that Tyne stayed with me (no matter how difficult I was) in the entire process. In the end, she went well above and beyond giving me the best experience possible. Even though I was still a week or two out from driving, she delivered my car to me!! That was two hours away! It was a quick and convenient experience, unique to the pandemic certainly but I hope this may inspire the framewor Hillsboro to facilitate the sale.
